This is a silly idea, I don't know if I'd really use it... more of comic relief than anything, but after watching too much of Pogojo's art and thinking too much about the Green Hell, I thought... what the fuck?

The Toyko kingdom is north of the Green Hell, situated on the coast of the Shimmering Sea. It's the largest existing kingdom in Felarya, spanning almost 50 miles across. It's also probably the biggest existing kindgom anywhere.

This is also the most consistently advanced kingdom in Felarya, their technology very well reaches Earth year-equivalent 1995 levels. Their scientific ability is peerless, and their educational system is excellent, producing some of the best professionals in the world, specially in the quantum physics and electronics angle. They battle predators regularly, and come out winning more often than not- something only Ur-Sagol could boast so far.

Their ancient culture is very respectful of both nature and intelligence, giving those who have the time to learn it an excellent edge to take the responsibilities of their lives with seriousness and without suffering too much. This is also the home of a thousand different martial arts, any of which would serve its wielders well and guide them through any situation. Even the guardians don't mess with them.

Their diet is mostly based on fish and fruits, and a single fish can feed a family for a month, thanks to their frugality and good preserving industry. Contrary to what it may seem, they are not exactly crazy about cereal, as they cannot cultivate it very well. However, they make wise use of the fruits in the forest, often waiting for them to fall on their own rather than go up and take them, so patient they are. Every of their cities is beautiful, lodged between the treeline and the sea coast.

Now here's the catch.

The Toyko kingdom's people are tomthumbs- really small ones, too, only a little above two and a half inches in height in average, rarely reaching three inches. They've got kind of a yellowish tinge to their skin, and narrow eyes with smooth eyelids.

They also have a problem in that, though there are few nekos and elves where they live, that place is abundant on great predators- and they like to duke it out in front, above, and all over them. The Toykans have some weaponry, but the beasts are simply too big to be fought effectively. Also, the local giant nekos and giant elves, while they don't eat tinies for a meal, may still use them simply for a seasoning, or play a game of seeing who can break those itty buildings the kinkiest (they do it clothed too, T.T ). That's only the beginning, however, since there are stone sphinxes that also EAT their buildings, and sometimes they get visits from curious and callous giant mermaids who want to see what's inside the buildings.

Right now, they mostly survive through transitory sympathetic predators, but they're working on a shrink ray too. They've got some working prototypes already.

I am confused, when you say "giant nekos" are you talking relative to human size or to tiny size?
Please keep consistent sizes throughout your post it's confusing otherwise.

When you said "The largest kingdom in Felarya which spans 50 miles" I was thinking "dude I travel 100 miles daily and that's barely any map travel at all!" and then when you said they were tombthumbs I was like "Oohhhhhhhhhhhhhh now I get it. They're tombthumbs and to them fifty miles is like, the total area of the United States".

But all in all, good job. Toyko... nice.

Hey,

I quite like the idea, and 'Toyko', is nice as it includes the word 'toy'. I can see where this comes from, in the sense of having seen images on Deviantart of giant nekos etc crushing buildings underfoot and so on. I'm not completely sure how well it fits into the concept of Felarya, but its kind of off the edge of the map anyway, so I'm not sure that that bothers me. It seems like what you're suggesting is that this realm is north-west of the Green Hell, and the Imoreith Tundra curls back on itself, allowing Toyko an access to a very northerly part of the Shimmering Sea.

I do have some notes:

If its at all based on the greater Tokyo region of Japan, food will basically come from fishing and from high-density crops. As its more north, this won't necessarily be rice, but a reasonable substitution can surely be made. Certainly, a single, hemmed it city-state built in high-density, unwillingly sprawling across as little land as it can manage.

I don't buy into the tech-level you've chosen at all. Or rather, I think it'd be better to make it either a nineteen-fifties/sixties like version of America. Able to withstand any conventional threat, but with the giant-predators in the fearsome nuclear role. You could also include the anachronistic, zeerust devices of the comics and so on of the period, such as Flash Gordon and so on. Something like the Enterprise's style in the most recent star-trek movie.

Alternatively, I'd choose a tech-level a little ahead of ours. Something more like what is seen in, if you're familiar with it, Blade-Runner or Bubblegum Crisis (uh, not the naga). The nineties are just a bit boring from the point of view of flashy technology. It was all about the nascent 'net, at that point.

Great idea, though.

@Aisu, the asian stereotype is because it's funny to see Tokyo guys with giant monsters.

@SuperPieGuy: Yeah. To them, 50 miles is like 1200 miles to us. Not exactly the US, but still plenty of room. While to the predators, 50 miles is like a couple miles to us. A nice stroll.

@AJ, to us they're giant predators. To them, those girls would show up in scale maps of the country. Assuming a human is on average 6 feet and a tomthumb is on average 3 inches (1/24 scale), to us the preds are 75 feet tall on average, but to them it's like 1800 feet tall (540 metres, for those of you who prefer that scale for things that size). Carpet bombing would hardly even loosen their bra.

On a sidenote, it'd take Angela to be a mile tall there (232x24 feet are 5568 feet). Around the size of Pogojo's favourite girls. And God forbid a fairy ever finds them... at least, a fairy that likes it cramped.

@ Ambrose-Euanthe: Not just buildings, city blocks too.
Also, if tinies were cultivating potatoes, they'd need a mining operation every harvest. And if they were cultivating rice, they'd be fighting off garden slugs with rocket launchers. I preferred to keep them as hunter-gatherers... with dumpster trucks.
Also, the nascent tech means they've got plenty of porn. But yeah, maybe the fifties would be a better idea... with some zeerust, like the aforementioned shrink ray.

Hey,

Hmm... I take your point. It's interesting to wonder whether cultivated crops in Felarya take the scale of nagas et al, or humans et al, or tinies. Or maybe there's variants for each?

Looking at FrenchSnack's stories, for example, one can find examples of fruit which giantesses can comfortably be bite into (naga-scale), as well as trees scaled for tomthumbs (tinies scale).

Looking at the wiki, it certainly seems that you're right in terms of the scale of most vegetation either being human-scale, with some being naga-scale. Certainly, as these are tinies, they'd easily be able to find enough food in a hunter-gatherer kind of way provided they have the right equipment to 'hunt' or 'collect' it. As you said, earth-moving and mining equipment, or possibly military for the hunting part, is what would be required. That would be a pretty interesting direction to take things.

Yours,

Ambrose

Well, that's an interesting idea come to think of it, I hadn't thought of actually hunting anything but fish. Nevertheless, since what feeds one human comfortably is enough for over nine thousand! tinies, it's possible.

Just reminding you that that naga-scale would be incorrect, as the vast majority of nagas are human-sized.

Giant-scale is what you'd mean for that comparison.
