Friend predator

Say you could choose a member of one race as your friend. Which is your choice?

yeah, i voted Naga... sew me, i just really like snakes ^^

Let's see... a dridder would provide me with infinite silk that I could sell for money.

A dryad would alert me of dangers ahead of time because of the private mental network.

A mermaid would allow me to cross the sea for free.

A centaur would get me around the continent without having to worry about gas.

A fairy would allow me to fly around.

I don't see any advantage a naga would provide me.

Anyways, my choice is to ignore all the provided options in favor of a more original choice, seeing as you seem to have grabbed the most commonly used races imaginable in Felarya.

Oh really, I don't remember any centaur character.

The reason I chose mermaids is that I just feel a special connection to them. I love the sea more than anything else. And my birthstone is aquamarine, which in myth is said to be the tears of mermaids.(A crying mermaid is a sad sight )

I'll give you that one. But really, naga, dridder, fairy, salad dressing. All seem to be quite common sites when concerning Felarya related works.

To put it into perspective, we have a total of 38 or so races I believe. Here is their sorting algorithm of usage:

Naga: 12 canon characters not counting the fan made ones.

Fairies: 10 canon characters not counting the fan made ones.

Dridder: Actually there are few canon of these, they tie with dryad at 2 canon characters. Still though, the fan made ones seem plentiful, although listing all of those would require much browsing through Deviantart.

Dryad: Same case as Dridders.

Taking this into consideration, the only really uncommon creature Alliance seems to have picked would be centaur.

well those other races seem to be common and useful, so why not?

Plus, who cares about how uncommon they are when we're picking races we'd like to befriend. If you dont want to befriend a dryad or a mermaid, feel free to choose a chilotaur. You can always say that in the comments.

Fairy, mostly because they'd be the ones most capable of helping me out of jam.
In fact if a predator was after me, one could use her magic to make me temporarily make me grow to scare the predator off.

well fairies are, I think, the most diverse predator creature in existence in felarya. *opinion*

though fairies can easily grow themselves... they can't grow others quite as much as themselves. every fairy has a limit from which anything larger cannot be shrunk down and smaller can only reach

If not that, then a slug girl. Instantly immune to being eaten by most preds.

But if nekos count, then I say a neko. A rosic neko. So sue me, I like my own creations music.

I think a lot of people like their own creations. I don't think it's a bad thing personally, at least not initially. Besides, nekos ARE preds. ^_^ so your statement holds. I'm still rooting for dryads fairies.

I'm not really sure to be honest. Miaxi interest me though, oddly enough. Pff. can be girls be counted at preds?

yea..... get any mermaid about a mile away from where they jumpd out of the water, and they are already done for.
