So here are the character bios for the story I have planned, called "Apollo's Chariot." You can see what the story's basic premise is in this thread.

So anyway, here's the protagonist, Walter Ray:

Walter Ray

Species: Human

Age: 36

Gender: Male

Height: 6'3''

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Green

Skin Color: White, with a slight tan.

Other Characteristics: Has a slight south Texas accent, which he exaggerates when working with potential customers. His hair is slightly ruffled and unkempt, but he rarely has visible facial hair. He usually wears jeans and a brown leather jacket to keep the "folksy" appearance that helps sales.

Background

Walter was a fairly successful used car salesman in Texas before being caught up in a series of events that lead him to Felarya.

A few years ago, a mysterious stranger gave him a rusty old car that he no longer wanted on his hands. Though the car itself seemed to be on the verge of breaking down, Walter found that it ran amazingly well, as well as a state-of-the-art vehicle in top condition. What's more, the car never seemed to run out of gas and, upon inspection, didn't have any gas in the tank at all.

Things soon get weirder when Walter becomes threatened by a mysterious cult called the Order of Apollo, who worship the ancient Greek god of the sun that the order is named after. The car is actually Apollo's Chariot, the same chariot that he supposedly used to carry the sun across the sky in Greek myth. Though it only retains a fraction of its original power, the Chariot still has divine power, and as such both it and anyone in it cannot be harmed without the use of magic, which has been mostly forgotten on Earth. The Order wishes to take the chariot and use it enact revenge on the world which abandoned the gods of ancient Greece.

Walter knows that the Order is serious when they kill his wife, and the local police are under their grip. He takes the Chariot, and tries to flee, and discovers that the Chariot has a mind of its own and is more than willing to help. The Chariot decides to take Walter to a place where the Order would never think to look, and he soon arrives in Felarya, in the city of Negav. Walter slowly manages to work out a living there, and eventually becomes a salesman for various magic items. Things soon become quite complicated, however, when he has a brief encounter with the Guardian Mercreti, and causes the Chariot to become more limited in its ability to return to Earth. To make things worse, the Order somehow manage to find a way into Negav, and Walter is forced to flee the city.

Walter has a very laid-back and easygoing mannerism, but he works hard whenever there's work to be done. As far as salesmen go, he's quite honest, and will never sell product that he knows is defective or shoddy. Though he is a good person at heart, he tends to oversimplify things a bit sometimes, and usually sees things in black and white, contrary to Felarya's nature. Though he was never exactly racist on Earth, on Felarya he quickly developed a mistrust of anyone who isn't human, and doesn't take kindly to predatory species. He is very charismatic, but rarely finds much use for it after he leaves Negav, as most of the things in Felarya don't care how charming you are if they think you look tasty. He doesn't have much survival experience, and the only tool for survival he has is the Chariot, which, although powerful, is still limited in the amount of safety it brings.
