Aquatic Breasts :P

I had a theory a while back about races like Mermaids, oceanic and sea krait nagas, chlaenas, etc. having larger breasts than other races due to the fact that they life underwater, and thus would generally have fewer restrictions on breast size because the water would make carrying the weight easier on their bodies. I'm curious to know if anyone else thought the same thing, has thoughts on this theory, or knows of any statistics that might actually support it? :33

hydrodynamics is more harsh than aerodynamic even if they don't have back pain issue having larger breasts can still be a huge drawback in term of mobility and using this explanation to justify that will make you look sound more a pervert even if it was not the intention.

Really? O.o Water drag, huh? Didn't think of that. I'll have to incorporate that more then. Though, somehow I think the pervert comment was a little uncalled for, but it was also a nice warning. >.<;

As said, you're basically swapping out speed for appeal. Depending on how / what they tend to hunt you could have some that are big chested, but they seem more likely to either hard vore, live in target-rich environments, or so-on. The smaller-chested ones would be faster swimmers (well, faster for less energy), more independent, eat less often (since movement = energy), etcetera. A Mermaid who has huge breasts / flab is one that either lives in a target-rich environment or is an exceptionally good (/ non-picky) hunter.

Prehaps instead breasts could be as a sort of internal pressure regulating system/ ballast system that could expand and contract depending on the situation. or maybe a sort of drifting aquatic sentient could make use of large breasts that allow them to float with ease.

whatever female creature would ave large breasts under water i wouldent imagine they would be one that relys on fast movement to catch prey. the closest thing in the current races that might benifit from such an adaptation would maybe be swimming/ drifting sea slug girls. 

like maybe a sea slug girl based of the glaucus atlanticus sea slug, which uses a gas filled sack, but this could be exhanged for lighter than water solution contained in the breasts to make them less balloony or modified fat tissues or somthing ... i dont really even know if sea slugs have a "fat tissue" analog... lol but whatever. 

the point is they would probably similar to some sort of slow floaty creature.
