| No i'm not asking you to compose a song, (but feel free to if you would like) this thread is for those of you who have any lyrics for/about/or pertaining to a character in Felarya. The afore mentioned character could be yours or some one else's (a dedication). I have seen very exemplary displays of verbal skills and some mighty craftsmanship with a pen (so to speak) on this site. I think you guys can come up with something if you haven't already.
I will probably shit out lyrics cause I write poems and songs alot...^^'
First one of mine...
Where are you Tonight?
Where are you tonight? Why aren't you here in my arms? Where are you tonight? I thought we could look at the stars
But apparently I was to blind to see That you were using me For your own selfish gain And dillusion Forced by illusion Gave me the conclusion That you actually cared
But you never did And now I'm sick to my heart I was just a broken kid That you taped up and tore apart
Tore apart... In this emptiness I find no bliss Only tragedy at my feet I'm swallowed by lonliness Death's bloody kiss A disease that I cannot treat
So in this pit This self denial I've grown sick of it The word you defile This "love" that is supposed to exist It festers and rots like a cyst It is crude and tastes like piss So some one, rid me of this
For Kevin L. Solaris (16) after his first time seeing Crisis from afar, knowing it could never be.

| I guess you could say this pertains to anyone from the "doomed" era on Dobeniria in my story:
Dinner With A Gypsy - He Is Legend
*Guitar Solo/Intro*
Is there a place that we can go to teach the children not to grow? Where lovers don't remember where they met, And heartbreak is easy to forget?
Is there no love to speak of? Is there no love to speak of?
I'm looking for a place, lookin' for a place; I gotta find a new place to call home; I'm looking for a place, lookin' for a place; I gotta find a new place to call home.
There has to be a closer country, Where love can live near me. I've got to find it, because right now, I'm not seein' clearly! There's someone knockin' on my door, No one lives here anymore. There's someone knockin' on my door, No one lives here anymore.
Don't I know you? You've got to believe me, We met yesterday! Don't I know you? I don't believe This bar is closing! Don't I know you? I don't live here anymore! Don't I know you?! I've gotta get out, I've gotta get out, I don't live here anymore!
Is there no love to speak of? Is there no love to speak of?
I'm lookin' for a place, lookin' for a place; I gotta find a new place to call home; I'm lookin' for a place, lookin' for a place; I gotta find a new place to call home!
Is there a place that we can go to teach the children not to grow? Where lovers cannot remember where they met, And heartbreak is easy to forget?

There is no love...

Dorian's Song (naga battle hymn):
Farewell my love I leave you now For battlefields unknown But know my heart will be with you No matter where I roam
Though forces dark tempt us apart from you I shall not stray And when my body lives no more, My Love with you shall stay
Oh my dearest lady fair, Do not forget my song And if sorrow stains your heart Do not be sad for long
For when you cry, the world does weep And my soul shall not rest. So remember as I sang to you, Upon thy loving breast.

| Another one for my Character.
Love with Death
Death crept up on me But I did not waiver I looked in her eyes to see A gentle behavior This magnificent woman Coerced me to her bed Pushed me in all of a sudden But I knew I wasn’t dead Then this mistress tucked me in As a mother does to a child I realized she had always been with me through the thick and the thin So I opened up to this demonic angel, to Death I reconciled
When I woke She was sitting on my resting place When I spoke She wore a smile upon her face As I sat up to welcome the day She pushed me down with an embrace to say “Don’t get up, please close your eyes. I like to watch you sleep, you look so innocent. Ignore the coffin, it’s just a guise. I’ve found myself a predicament. I’m supposed to kill you. But I don’t want to.” So I did as asked I closed my eyes and found love at last Though I’m afraid of what happens next What ever it is I’m ready for this test. For I… Fell in love with Death.
Another...
Emotionally Blind
Have you ever got a splitting headache? Wish you were asleep, knowing you’re awake Life isn’t a dream you can shape to your liking You’ve got to explore, sail like a Viking Guess my poems and songs are similar still All this love and hate, it’s made sick and ill
I cannot control my emotions There are too few to guide Hate is the strongest of potions But still love resides at my side
I am north and south Mental rabies, but I don’t foam at the mouth Everything is black and white, clear as day But it’s still never been more confusing anyway I’ve got two ways to see things, two unlucky eyes I can’t shake the feeling that they’ll be my demise
You shouldn‘t underestimate I speak the truth about what I hate It isn’t dislike or even a disposition It’s a true choice of words, a final decision I mean what I say and same goes for the other When I love it’s more then love like a brother It’s a deep honest un-chosen choice Something I know, but has never been voiced I am over with my mental transgressions My love and my hate, my only obsessions
Another...About my character's love for Xiao
Final Days
Respect the ones who dug their own graves Only they know what time they can save In the bloody days of the brave A final good bye, a saluting wave
This is the first of many a some day The beginning, premier matinee Last days continue to scroll by My head aches with all those who scream why
This is a fucking war for those who can only deny The time for bitching is over, action is neigh No prisoners to be taken Beasts of hell, once awoken Feet pounding the ground, a symphony of rage The story of pain, page by page All wind stops in the presence of five million strong Since when has the blood of so many been wrong? Never before did the angels cower in the clouds Watching on a war like spectator crowds The fight to begin in six days Decides the fate of all your ways Treasure this moment for the pleasure it brings I will no longer carry wind on my wings
My love, I have but six days left Free choice, to be bereft But as I can say for but this, the end of all “I Love You Xiao!” will be my battle call
In six days and on the fifth night The creatures will be stripped of all rite Armies of countless damned will flood this ground Upon this earth, ten million feet will pound That is why, every day I spend with you is so important to me Because I never know if I will live beyond day three These words become a litany of all that I believe For in this death, there is no reprieve This is my atonement to you The reparations for all I put you through
These words spoken in ways not meant to be heard I put down on paper what I am too damned proud to ever say Honest to you, every thing is true, to the last word If not, then on my death bed I already lay

| Well, Zoekin's taken responsibility for the Ryla soundtrack, which includes Part of Your World, Suppertime and Mean Green Mother From Outer Space. XP Not a bad ensemble at all.
But I think I'd add Knights of Cydonia to it as well, just for the chimeric, untamed adventure element to it...
Knights of Cydonia

| Ahh! I love that song! I always wanted to animate a big fight sequence to that song…but I can’t draw and I don’t have flash ^^;
I always thought The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance was a good fit for Fallen
When I was a young boy, My father took me into the city To see a marching band. He said, "Son when you grow up, will you be the saviour of the broken, The beaten and the damned?" He said "Will you defeat them, your demons, and all the non believers, the plans that they have made?" Because one day I leave you, A phantom to lead you in the summer, To join the black parade."
When I was a young boy, My father took me into the city To see a marching band. He said, "Son when you grow up, will you be the savior of the broken, The beaten and the damned?"
Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me. And other times I feel like I should go. Through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets. When you're gone we want you all to know We'll Carry on, We'll Carry on Though your dead and gone believe me Your memory will carry on Carry on We'll carry on And in my heart I cant contain it The anthem wont explain it.
And we will send you reeling from decimated dreams Your misery and hate will kill us all So paint it black and take it back Lets shout it loud and clear Do you fight it to the end We hear the call to To carry on We'll carry on Though your dead and gone believe me Your memory will carry on We'll carry on And though you're broken and defeated You're weary widow marches on
And on we carry through the fears Ooh oh ohhhh Disappointed faces of your peers Ooh oh ohhhh Take a look at me cause I could not care at all Do or die You'll never make me Cause the world, will never take my heart You can try, you'll never break me Want it all, I'm gonna play this part Wont explain or say i'm sorry I'm not ashamed, I'm gonna show my scar You're the chair, for all the broken Listen here, because it's only.. I'm just a man, I'm not a hero Just a boy, who's meant to sing this song Just a man, I'm not a hero I -- don't -- care Carry on We'll carry on Though your dead and gone believe me Your memory will carry on We'll carry on And though you're broken and defeated You're weary widow marches on We'll carry on We'll carry on We'll carry on We'll carry We'll carry on

| "Game On" by Disciple (Battle theme for Zion, I'm still looking for a standard theme song)
When the lights go up and the game is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you When the bell rings out and the fight is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you When the lights go up and the game is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you When the bell rings out and the fight is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you It's time for us to start throwing down Take a look and see who's standing now It's time for us to start throwing down Look and see who's standing now
Didn't even know that you and I were cross Until a sneak attack on the weak side Unaware that we were in a fight I guess that's part of the problem But guess what
When the lights go up and the game is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you When the bell rings out and the fight is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you It's time for us to start throwing down Just look and see who's standing now It's time for us to start throwing down Look and see who's standing now
Say what you want about me Throw up what you want to throw up at me But when you mess with those are around me That's when you and I will have a problem
When the lights go up and the game is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you When the bell rings out and the fight is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you It's time for us to start throwing down Just look and see who's standing now It's time for us to start throwing down Look and see who's standing now
I'm not afraid of loving my enemies Turning the other cheek Blessing those that would curse me I honestly want peace with you But when you come against my country When you come against my family You try to destroy my people I can't just stand by There's no way that I can stand by This time I will not stand by I am coming, and if I come Then pain is coming with me Now I'm coming and pain will be with me
When the bell rings out, this fight is on Are you ready for me Cause I'm ready for you It's time for us to start throwing down Just look and see who's standing now It's time for us to start throwing down Wow, look and see who's standing now Look and see who's standing now Look and see who's standing now Look and see who's standing now

| For my upcoming character, it would be "Throwdown" by Pillar:
Light It Up!
Training day is over It's been laid on the line I'll give this all I've got And I'll find my time to shine I will settle for no less Than the best I've got to give Only the strong survive When they try to take you down
Toe to toe and pound for pound It's time to step up it's time to throw down
There's nothing you say that could ever fade me Serving up another lesson learned Light it up and let the fire burn There's nothing you say that could ever change me Toe to toe and pound for pound Step right up its time to throw down
The cage awaits this moment The tension pushes through The stage is set to showdown I'm not turning my back on you Face to face with the enemy Giving in to you I refuse Somebody's gotta win And I don't know how to lose
Toe to toe and pound for pound It's time to throw down
There's nothing you say that could ever fade me Serving up another lesson learned Light it up and let the fire burn There's nothing you say that could ever change me Toe to toe and pound for pound Step right up its time to throw down
There's nothing you say that could ever fade me Serving up another lesson learned Light it up and let the fire burn There's nothing you say that could ever change me Step right up its time to throw down
Light it up!
There's nothing you say that could ever fade me Serving up another lesson learned Light it up and let the fire burn There's nothing you say that could ever change me Toe to toe and pound for pound Step right up its time to throw down
There's nothing you say that could ever fade me Serving up another lesson learned Light it up and let the fire burn There's nothing you say that could ever change me Step right up its time to throw down
EDIT: My character's name is Alris Skyslasher

| well , after finishing my first story with my character and Felarya ( i'm trying to translate it it to english) I´ve found a good song for a spetial moment of the story (this happens before my character is transported to Felarya)
Calling to the night , from metal gear : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdU_0my-fA0&feature=related in this part of the story, my character (Atlas) and his army is found in a ambush.( then the song begins), Atlas and his soldiers try to fight, but in vain, the enemy has the advantage ( more or less in the midle of the song), and finally , when Atlas's army is defeated and Atlas is surrounded by the enemy troops, Atlas use his last forces to kill the traidor who help the enemy to localizate them , and disapear (in the end of the song) (if you take atention to the words of teh song, some of them make sense with what is hapening)
Calling to the night
Through the night, to the day When everything is gone Carry this soul away From the dry lands In the sun we see Fighting over lines All our dreams and wishes We send home for safe keeping Fighting for what’s right … Calling to the night To dream Again in the light Waiting for a storm to rise and Feel the isolation fleeting calling to the night To be or not to be fighting here Leaving without you, leaving My soul behind Calling to the night Colors Of kodachrome fade with time … Calling to the night For us For every single life All the ashes of men remain As a perfect memory Calling to the night … But the heart Will remain As a silhouette of time Hear the ringing echos In the splitting horizon Calling to the night.

| CaramellDansen. ^^ Ok ok...One song I've always wanted to use is: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/142921 I'm thinking of using this for my character in his second form speeding through Felarya at blinding speeds. Epic. "If you can play it at high volume without pissing anyone off, don't pass up the chance." | |

| Also, any music by Demon Hunter could do well for Zion. Especially ones like "Sixteen" and "Storm the Gates of Hell".
And for his more sensitive and depressed side, Rod Stewart's "Some Guys have All The Luck". It's a side you won't see, until I get a little deeper into my Felarya series and then write a biography for Zion on the side.

| This isn't for any of my characters in particular. Just about 99.9% of the people who come to Felarya thinking that they're already great heroes, or going to make a name for themselves as one. It's called "Here's to the Heroes", by Terrence Chua (a very talented Filk songwriter from Singapore). Here's to the HeroesHis eyes were bright, his hair was blond, a handsome upright lad; He looked up to the stars and wished he could be like his Dad. He stowed aboard a rocket heading out to outer space; But he forgot to factor fuel so he vanished without trace. The soldier came upon a number of the enemy While armed only with a pistol and the spirit of the free. He steeled himself and leaped out, his finger clicking fast; But he soon ran out of ammo, so that first leap was his last. They lost the day, they screwed the pooch, They really mucked it up. They found out that reality Is such a bitter cup. If there's a lesson to be learned they learned it far too late; That the principles of physics always beat the rules of fate. You only hear the songs of those who win despite the odds, But for every one of those there's one of these pathetic sods Who think that all that's needed is their quick and fancy skill, But soon find out a speeding bullet's even quicker still. They died like dogs, they faded away, They never made it back. They thought that they knew everything But all they knew was jack. Pay heed my sons when people speak of brave and glorious deeds; The ones who try them usually wind up pushing up the weeds. In their heads they think that they're The hero through and through, And not the schmuck who's gunned down In the middle of Act Two. So don't mention Montana, or your grandmama at home, Or you'll just guarantee the happy hunting grounds you'll roam. His flying was unorthodox, his ship a battered mess- He figured he could run rings round the Evil Empire's nest. By every law of literature he knew he wouldn't fail; The laws of better firepower told a different tale. They bombed, they broke, they flunked, they flopped, They bowled a seven-ten; They never realized the sword's Superior to the pen. To die for one's beliefs is indeed a noble touch; To live for them is better and it doesn't hurt as much! They lost the day, they screwed the pooch, They really mucked it up. They found out that reality Is such a bitter cup. If there's a lesson to be learned they learned it far too late; That the principles of physics always beat the rules of fate. | |

Here's to the Heroes
......... What an excellent song, I've never heard it before. I like how you intelligently pointed out that many people in this forum think that they are heroes, somehow more important or more interesting than other members here. It is true that we are all unique and bring different gifts and talents to the table, but in truth we are the equal in our individual value to this forum, brought together by an appreciation and inspiration stemming from Karbo's beautifully illustrated world of Felarya. Although, I would like to think that we are truly a collection of heroes for our ability to dream, and dream big. "Hold on to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly" -Langston Hughes Thank you. And I do agree; I think the concept of 'hero' can have many different meanings! There are the famous, world-saving epic heroes that everybody knows about... but for every one of them, there are dozens of poor schlubs who tried and failed. But there are also dozens of unsung heroes, who do what people might consider remarkable things every day, expecting and receiving no recognition or reward. Not to start a political debate, or get people ranting about terrorism and the war in Iraq... but although the events that happened September 11, 2001 were both terrible and tragic; some of the stories that came out of the WTC are truly humbling. One can say that all of the police and firefighters who died that day were "just doing their job", but when you are trapped in a blazing inferno, unable to see, breathe, or even think clearly because of panic... and suddenly someone willingly enters that dangerous situation, risking their own life to save you when they don't have to... There are accounts of people who made it out of the WTC safely... and then wound up going back in to help others escape. Many of the people who did that did not come back out; their stories were told by the people they saved, who often sought out the families of the ones who saved their lives. There are millions of "Everyday Heroes" who do things that are just as extraordinary and courageous in their own way as entering a cave to slay a dragon; perhaps it doesn't seem as impressive or epic as dragonslaying, but when you've fallen into despair and abandoned all hope of making it out of a situation, and someone suddenly appears in front of you who has the ability to save you... - beefy wrote:

I used to hate poetry when I was a kid; it was incredible people like John Masefield and Langston Hughes who opened my eyes to a whole new world. ^^ In the spirit of the two lines above, and as sort of a counterpoint to Here's to the Heroes, I'll post another song.

| Again, this song isn't for any character in particular, but can pretty much apply to anyone who willingly comes to Felarya rather than accidentally finding themselves there. The background on this song is that it was written and performed by a very talented lady named Emily Shackleton. If you like it, please look her up; her myspace page can be found easily on google or another search engine. She isn't a famous artist yet, she is at the point where she is still struggling to gain recognition and make it as a professional. Many of you may recognize this song as one David Cook, the winner of the most recent American Idol, sung in this season's finals; " Dream Big" was Emily's entry into the American Idol Songwriting Contest for 2008. The song made it into the Top Ten finals for the contest, which the American Idol contestants then chose among to perform on the show. David Cook loved the song, and actually contacted Emily Shackleton about it, and ask if he could make a slight change to the lyrics when he performed it. Hopefully, having her song sung on American Idol and seen by millions of people will be good publicity for Emily. So, now that the background is out of the way, here is the song... Dream BigWhen I was a little girl ('boy', in David Cook's rendition), I swore that I would change the world; When I grew up, Nothing else would be enough. Back then it all seemed black and white; But these days I just can't seem to find The child in me, who always believed. I see it everyday: We settle for safe And lose ourselves along the way! But if you don't dream big, what's the use in dreaming? If you don't have faith, there's nothing worth believing! It takes one hope to make the stars worth reaching for; So reach out for something more! Took a well perfected plan For me to finally understand, That it's not me; Faith is something I can see. I loose the reins and let em go; I broke the chains I fear That had their hold on me too long, When all I felt was wrong. I've wiped my tears away; Now it's time for a change- No I can't waste another day! Cuz if you don't dream big, what's the use in dreaming? If you don't have faith, there's nothing worth believing! It takes one hope to make the stars worth reaching for; So reach out for something more! Yeah... So close your eyes and tell me what you see: Between what's real and make believe, Here's the path we've all been searching for; So reach out for something more Than you ever could imagine, then move- Don't wait for it to happen! Life's too short for not taking chances; The stars aren't as far as they seem! But if you don't dream big, what's the use in dreaming? If you don't have faith, there's nothing worth believing! It takes one hope to make the stars worth reaching for... So close your eyes and tell me what you see: Between what's real and make believe, Here's the path we've all been searching for; So reach out for something more! For something more... So reach out for something more ! | |

I remember that song! Also very nice. It's surprising that Emily Shackleton is still struggling to gain recognition. Her work is very inspiring and motivating.

| Here's a song for my world-battered and bruised nomadic seeker of freedom: Haru
[Boulevard of Broken Dreams] ~-(sung by Utada Hikaru)-~
I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don't know where it goes But it's home to me and I walk alone
I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of broken dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one and I walk alone
I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone I walk a-
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me 'Til then I walk alone
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah
I'm walking down the line That divides me somewhere in my mind On the border line of the edge And where I walk alone
Read between the lines of what's Fucked up and everything's all right Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive And I walk alone
I walk alone I walk alone I walk alone I walk a-
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me 'Til then I'll walk alone...
Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah Ahhh-Ah Ah-Ah Ah-Ah I walk alone I walk a-
I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of broken dreams Where the city sleeps And I'm the only one and I walk a...
My shadows the only one that walks beside me My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating Sometimes I wish someone out there would find me 'Til then I'll walk alone ~~~~~~~ This song really can be applied to Haru's existance for the past few years. While he hasn't 'only known' this existance, he's slowly forgetting what his old one was like, considering it was all a lie for the most part. (his family was engaged in a 10,000 year old magical war for pete's sake)
The name itself also reflects him, because he's slowly coming to realise that he's stuck like this, and there's no going back.
But the real clincher that really got me was that last verse that talks about the shadow. Go check him out on the prey roster and you'll see what i'm talking about.
and now, for that lucious little naga of my own creation... Alice
[Girlfriend] ~-(Avril Lavigne)-~ {Japanese version}
Hey hey anoko wa ima ichi Ne ne atarashii ko ga hitsuyou Hey hey atashi nante iinjyanai
Hey hey atashi ni wa wakatteru No way no way himitsujyanai Hey hey atashi ga natteageru
You're so fine I want you mine you're so delicious I think about you all the time you're so addictive Don't you know what I can do to make you feel alright (Alright...)
Don't pretend I think you know I'm damn precious And hell yeah, I'm the mother fucking princess I can tell you like me too and you know I'm right (I'm right...)
She's like so whatever You could do so much better I think we should get together now And that's what everyone's talking about
Hey hey anoko wa ima ichi Ne ne atarashii ko ga hitsuyou Hey hey atashi nante iinjyanai
Hey hey atashi ni wa wakatteru No way no way himitsujyanai Hey hey atashi ga natteageru
I can see the way, I see the way you look at me And even when you look away I know you think of me I know you talk about me all the time again and again (Again and again...)
So come over here and tell me what I wanna hear Better, yet, make your girlfriend disappear I don't wanna hear you say her name ever again (And again...)
Because...
She's like so whatever And she could do so much better I think we should get together now And that's what everyone's talking about
Hey hey anoko wa ima ichi Ne ne atarashii ko ga hitsuyou Hey hey atashi nante iinjyanai
Hey hey atashi ni wa wakatteru No way no way himitsujyanai Hey hey atashi ga natteageru
(Uh) In a second you'll be wrapped around my finger 'Cause I can, 'cause I can do it better There's no other, so when's it gonna sink in She's so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?
(Uh) In a second you'll be wrapped around my finger 'Cause I can, 'cause I can do it better There's no other, so when's it gonna sink in She's so stupid, what the hell were you thinking?

Hey, hey!
~~~~~~~~
my reasoining? Easy. Alice is a japanese-american-ish naga. (she looks bolth american and japanese) this song, has japanese, AND american lyrics. She also has a thing for a certain someone back on her homeworld, but they're "being stupid" and not talking, this resulting in her friend getting a girlfriend which Alice completely despises
main difference though.... it's a girl that she likes, not a guy like in the song. x3
Most people do recognize it from when David Cook sang it on American Idol; it's unusual in that although Dream Big lost to The Time of My Life (the song the AI winner was to sing) in the American Idol Songwriting Contest, most people who heard Dream Big liked it more. - beefy wrote:
I agree wholeheartedly! But trying to actually make a living as an artist is not easy. Things have been looking up for her since American Idol, though! She's gotten quite a few TV interviews, and there's rumors that David Cook is interested in using the song as a single on his debut album.
