The Golden Silence

(This is an RP centering around my neera character Quarus. Anyone is free to join if they wish. Just don't godmod or take control of the RP, and you'll be just fine.)

As the morning came, and the sunlight shined on the landscape, a young neera with brown hair, blue eyes, and brown mouse ears took a look around before stepping out and silently yawning. She then took another look around, sneaking around while she looked for some berries to eat. She thought about whether or not there were sentients smaller then she was, and how they would react to seeing her. The thought then went as quickly as it came, as the neera had to be constantly aware of her surroundings, lest a neko snatched her up and swallowed her.

Fiona sighed walking through the felaryan jungle had proved hard upon her body she sat down relativly close to quarus her shoulder length blue hair blew gently in the wind she wore a white top and blue jeans but she did not wear any socks or shoes this was so she didn't get any blister's which would make running away difficult.she took the small pouch she carried from her side reaching in she pulled out apple using a knife she cut the apple into equal pieces she smiled placing one of the pieces in her mouh smiling happily as she ate it.

Quarus saw Fiona walking through the jungle, and stayed still as she sat down. She looked to see the human take out an apple as she ate it. Her stomach lightly growled upon seeing it, and decided to take her chances with the human, considering that they usually didn't eat neeras. She stepped out of hiding and towards Fiona, who apparently was too busy eating her apple pieces to notice her. With that said, she tapped Fiona's bare foot, hoping to get her attention.

Fiona gasped at something tapping on her foot she looked down seeing the little neera smiling she picked quarus placing her down onto her foot she then placed a piece of apple nearby to her "well hello there hear eat that it's good for you"she pauses looking around "probably gonna need it soon"she says smiling down at the small peson she'd just met.

Shanna lazily leaned back against the tree trunk, enjoying the early morning light. She was dressed in a simple, decidedly unladylike tunic and breeches, colored to resemble leaves and shrubbery. The sleeves of the tunic were missing, revealing her bare arms. Her skin was fair, though her arms bore a few pale scars. Her eyes were a blue-green, set above a contented smile. Her face was arrayed in long curly light brown hair. From this hair long ears poked, revealing her to be an elf.

Lazily, she plucked a few berries from a nearby shrub and popped them into her mouth. She appeared relaxed, but she was listening with her keen ears. She didn’t hear any predators in the immediate area, but she did hear the approach of a elf or human nearby. Those didn’t concern her, for now she decided merely to wait and see if they approached.

Quarus took the apple piece graciously, doing a small bow to say thank you. She then sat down on Fiona's foot, and began to eat the apple piece, looking up at Fiona to see what she would do now.

Fiona smiled down looking happily at quarus her ears twitched slightly smiling she continued to watch the little neera eat the apple piece she picked up quarus and the applepiece on the palm of her hand,smling as she stood up a small perverted smile came across her face but it soon went and fiona began to walk in a random direction towards shanna.

Quarus had wondered just what that weird smile on Fiona's face was, but shrugged it off as she continued to eat the apple piece that Fiona had given her, wondering just what Fiona had in mind with her.

Shanna looked up as the stranger approached. She didn’t seem threatening, and simply appeared to be out for a morning walk. Shanna smiled and nodded as they approached, not shifting from her comfortable position. “Hey there,” Shanna said idly, eating a few more of the berries. “Don’t recall seeing you before, what brings you to this neck of the woods?” She asked pleasantly.

fiona gasped seeing the elf girl infront of her she had woondered why the girl was talking to her but fiona didn't want to seem rude as a gentle smile came across her face "well i...i was just walking when i sat down and met this little neera here"she says holding quarus up "then i continued walking with her in my hand an then i ran into you and i am pretty new around the area"she says now smiling calmly and in a pleasent mannor.

“Is that so? A bit dangerous to be walking in an unfamiliar area on your own, don’t you think?” Shanna said, picking up a small rock. She threw it onto the forest floor some distance away. Instead of bouncing off the grassy ground, it seemed to fall straight through it. “A Dryad’s trap,” Shanna explained. “It’s the illusion of ground over a dug pit. Fortunately, I know this drayd fairly well, I know her methods and preferred traps. And exactly just how far she can reach. Speaking of which, don’t go past that rock over there.” She added, pointing at a large boulder covered in moss.

“But enough with this unpleasant stuff. I’m Shanna,” Shanna said. “A pleasure to meet you. And you too,” She added, giving Quarus a gentle pet on the head. “I like neeras you know, such enjoyable people, if a little timid at times. I happen to know a family of them.”

Quarus smiled as Shanna pet her on the head. Her ears perked when Shanna said that she knew a family of neeras. It had been quite a while since she had seen her own species, and she walked towards the edge of Fiona's hand closest of Shanna, wanting to know more.

fiona glanced at the rock placing quarus down on the ground as she walked over curiously to it "this rock "she says pointing at the rock she walked around to the otherside of the rock the side furthest away from shanna,fiona smiled looking at the elf girl "why nothing's happening?"

Quarus looked at Fiona in disbelief, then looked up at Shanna with a look that practically screamed, 'Is that human stupid or something?!

“If you stay on this side of it, nothing will. That rock marks the farthest she can reach,” Shanna said. “Then again, you’d better back up, she has a habit of moving it every once in a while to try and confuse me.”

“Anyway, you don’t say much, do you?” Shanna said, turning her attention back towards Quarus. “But it looked like that family I mentioned struck a chord. It’s just a small cluster, a husband, a wife, a few kids, a cousin or two usually. I often bring them goodies on occasion, and they carve runes for me every once in a while. One of them is very knowledgeable in runic magic, you know.”

“Hey, human! Back up some. I think she did move that boulder again.” Shanna said, looking up at Fiona again. “You’re not exactly ready to do the dryad dash yet.”

Quarus nodded at what Shanna was saying, signifying that she was listening. After she was done, she then pointed towards her throat, then did a series of hand motions to tell the elf that she couldn't talk.

"dryad dash that some kind of dance move"Fiona says a small smile upon her face as she stood by the rock still "dryads are nothing more than overgrown weeds yyou can get rid of them with a big bottle of weed killer"she says a cheeky grin upon her face as she leaned back against the rock now watching shanna and quarus talk.

Dylan hummed to himself as he walked through the jungle. His wide brimmed straw hat kept the sun out of his eyes and he carried his fishing pole over his shoulder. Maybe he could find a nice pond to relax by. So far today had gone pretty well. He'd met a naga that'd tried to eat him, but she seemed friendly otherwise. Looked a bit disapointed when he got away...but being eaten wasn't something he was quite willing to go through with. He liked this world. A lot more...magic than Earth. A lot of the people he'd met her seemed nervous. They said he was crazy to come here willingly. He didn't see what was so bad. People just didn't get the mentality of the place. He thought he got it pretty well.

He noticed an elf standing with a human. Apparently arguing about boulder placement. Interesting. He walked up to the elf.

"Sorry if I'm interrupting, but does it matter where the rock is?"

“Yeah, it does,” Shanna said, looking up at the man. “It marks the farthest a certain dryad can reach. And for dryad dash, that’s a little sport I came up with. It’s a test of agility, speed, quick thinking, and perception. And…” Shana paused a moment, suddenly looking above Fiona. There was the barest shimmer, a slight shifting of light. Shanna recognized it as one of the dryad's illusions. “And it’s a test you just failed.” Shanna finished as a dryad’s hand appeared and snatched out to grab Fiona.

“I was right, she did move it about a meter or so,” Shanna said, “So, neera, d’ya want to help me save your human friend from herself? It miiight be just a little dangerous for you, but I have some runes that would help.”

Quarus nodded, putting on a serious face as if to say, 'I can do it.'

"Well, that might not have been the best idea" said Dylan casually. "I've heard being eaten isn't the most fun thing in the world. He sauntered over past the rock, watching as the dryad revealed herself, carrying a struggling Fiona. She looked at him and lashed out with her other hand. With a nonchalant movement, Dylan ducked and rolled, making sure not to lose his hat. The dryad grabbed for him more, but due to either good reflexs, magic or outstanding luck, he managed to avoid her grip.

"Now look." he said. "Think it would be much inconvience to let the girl go? I was wanting to ask these people some questions."

The dryad hand moved back and smacked him in the chest and he flew back. Though the blow looked severe, he staggered to his feet, laughing.

"Maybe I should let you try to talk to her." he said to Shanna.

“No use talking to that one, friend. Once she has someone in her hand, there’s only one way for them to go. Down the hatch.” Shanna said to the human, before looking at the neera.

“You’ll do it? I like your style, little neera,” Shanna said. She gave the neera a small neckace with four stone beads on it. “Here, this is master Breon’s neko escape kit. I found it works well with dryads too. There’s one rune of light, one of alkaline, one of air, and one of teleportation. The light, air, and alkaline ones activate automatically, but the teleportation one will wait for your command. Just rub the edge in a circle.”

“Now, the reason I’m giving this to you is that I’ve used it before on this dryad. She won’t swallow me because I would just teleport out with your friend. But If I can get you close enough, you could slip in unnoticed and down her gullet. The Alkaline rune will protect you from the acid, and once you find your friend, you can use the teleportation rune to escape. It’ll still be dangerous, you still up to it?”

Quarus still had a determined look in her eye, and nooded her head in confirmation, taking the necklace from Shanna and placing it on her neck.

Fiona screamed as she was suddenly snatched up from the ground by the dryad huge, soft hands she kicked her free legs and hit on the dryadhands using her own two hands she bit down upon the dryads finger before she went back to screaming.

"Well now, what do we have here?" The dryad said, holding Fiona in a tight fist to preclude further hitting or biting, "So, a weed am I? Perhaps you'd like to feed this weed for a while." The dryad transfered Fiona to her other hand, holding her upside down by her feet held in her thumb and fore finger. She lifted her up over herself, leaned back her head and opened her mouth wide. She let go of Fiona, and let her fall into her open mouth.
