Mecha-Ryla:

Mecha-Ryla Mecha_Ryla_Mug_Ref_by_Mecha_GREGOLE

History: Twenty minutes into the future of Felarya, Ryla came to a realization: She wasn't pissing NEARLY enough people off. She needed to offend a greater scope. The most efficient way of doing this, she determined, was to limit her predation to a certain minority. However, she couldn't afford to cut back on her feeding, and thus needed to prey exclusively on a minority that she encountered regularly.
What's a minority that isn't a minority at all? The answer was quite simple: Women.

Thus, Ryla elected thereafter to limit her humanoid prey to females.
Shortly after this decision, she crossed paths with a male explorer, who asked if she intended to eat him. Ryla quickly explained her new position, revealing a flaw: People weren't going to get quite as pissed off at her if they knew she was deliberately trying to rile them up.
The explorer offered a solution. Political correctness dictated that she could simply write it off as her religion, thereby making people not only hate her, but be forced to grudgingly respect her beliefs.

The two immediately set to work organizing a new religion. Eventually, the church of Ryla was founded. This church worshiped fire and rock music, and worshipers would weekly set fire to a random bystander and dance around them, drowning out the screams with rock & roll. And of course, all worshippers were only permitted to prey on female humanoids.

The churchwas a hit, quickly elevating from cult status to that of a full blown religion.
In a matter of months, a quarter of Felarya was part of the church.

Naturally, the guardians didn't take too kindly to this. Nemyra herself elected to put a stop to it as she had a mild grudge against Ryla, having lost several of her subjects to her. The fairy queen was merciless but quick, handily blasting Ryla to bits, seemingly ending the church.
Or so she hoped.

As it turned out, the religion had weaved itself too tightly into Felarya. A privately funded organization took the pieces of Ryla's body into an underground lab, reconstructing the missing portions with machinery and animating it with a mixture of black magic and good old fashioned lightning on a stick.

Ryla was reborn. However, her signature shapeshifting powers were no more. Her titanium body lacked the malleability of her old one. As such, she was equipped with adaptive nanobots that constructed whatever physical device she programmed into it. It was crude, but it worked.

What the scientists didn't expect was for this twisted amalgam of magic, machinery and flesh of a degenerate monster to be twisted and warped from her original self.

The cyborg instantly set to breaking free of its birthplace, heading for the surface and emerging in the middle of Negav. She wasted no time in leveling as much of the city as she pleased, undaunted by their defenses. It was then that the Negavians made a terrible realization: The Isolon Eye was useless against her. It protected the city against predators. However, Mecha-Ryla, as she was dubbed, was no predator, for she had no stomach!

Mecha-Ryla went on a bloodspree, tearing a chunk of the city apart before taking off into the jungle on supernaturally augmented thrusters.
She had a date with the fairy queen.

Mecha-Ryla tore the fairy kingdom apart, seeking out Nemyra's castle. However, the guardian mistress of fairy kind was not one to humor her. She presented herself straightforward, challenging the cyborg directly. A battle quickly raised between magic and machine.

Machine was surprisingly competent.
The cyborg was too adaptable, always finding some way to counter Nemyra's abilities, even going so far as to cut her way out of a pocket dimension the fairy attempted to seal her within. Even Nemyra's great size was rendered moot as Mecha-Ryla grew to match her.

With a cross of her arms, Mecha-Ryla fired a stream of disruptive particles from her vertical right arm, obliterating the fairy queen at an atomic level.

However, this wasn't nearly enough for the cybernetic monstrosity. Her originally personality was twisted, warped and scrambled beyond repair. But she was still Ryla. She craved more blood. And she still hadn't satisfied her lust for Nemyra's.
Traveling back in time was no difficult task for such an advanced machine. She tore a hole in time and walked right through it, determined to return to the past so that she might kill Nemyra a second time, then go back even further to repeat the process until she had prevented the fairy queen from even being born.

And so Mecha-Ryla made her way to modern Felarya, leaving the scientists of the future to question what the hell they had been thinking.

Personality: If Ryla was a maniacal, chaotic killing machine before, then Mecha-Ryla is the logical extreme. Her mind, simply put, isn't. She has a collective mess of Ryla's old thoughts, cobbled together and semi-organized with computerized aid into a grotesque semblance of a mind.
Mecha-Ryla's only love seems to be destruction for the sake of destruction. However, who she targets is random. She might save an entire town from a singular naga, then turn on the town, or she might save an entire naga village from a singular human.
Behind the chaos, however, there is something resembling a mind. Mecha-Ryla has more or less determined that her goal is world-domination, as it once was. However, she has completely forgotten how to go about achieving it. She may be convinced that her chaotic rampage will lead her to that.

In those rare moments where Mecha-Ryla isn't destroying everything in sight, she seems to enjoy spamming random assortments of catch-phrases that may or may not make sense. When she does speak, her voice is grating and unpleasant, sounding more like a trash compactor than a human.

In rare cases, a complete thought will manifest, giving Mecha-Ryla a brief flicker of personality. When this happens, she becomes a warmongering dominator, trying nothing so hard as to bend the world to its knees. She then typically forgets what she was thinking of and resumes her normal tasks.

One thought has managed to stay, however: Mecha-Ryla HATES Nemyra with all her essence. She intends to systematically kill the fairy queen once for every year she's ever lived, seemingly unmindful of the fact that doing so will prevent her from killing Ryla, thus preventing herself from ever coming to be.

Powers/Abilities: Naming all of Mecha-Ryla's arsenal is seemingly pointless, as the cyborg has proven herself to be borderline omnipotent. Essentially, her arsenal is limited only by her imagination.
In application, however, Mecha-Ryla is extremely predictable in her actions, often following rules for no logical purpose. Most people aren't really sure what these rules are.

Arguably, the only person in Felarya who has a decent grasp of Mecha-Ryla's style of attack is Ryla herself, who's genre-savvy enough to recognize her cybernetic doppelganger follows the rules of sentai drama.
Mecha-Ryla is very much a sentai monster and will always follow the rules paved by such producers as Tokukatsu and Toho. She will always engage an enemy at their own size, ensuring that she always fights on their terms. The exception, of course, is when attacking cities or towns, in which she must stand at a minimum of fifty feet high.

In addition, Mecha-Ryla must always turn her back to an enemy after killing them, executing a dramatic pose. This rule is excepted when facing multiple enemies in a close quarters.

Beyond this, Mecha-Ryla's power decays as she battles the same enemy, progressively growing weaker as the climax approached, eventually allowing the battered heroes to unify against her. She's especially weak against spontaneous finishing attacks that her opponent has never previously displayed.

As a big name villain, Mecha-Ryla is almost completely impervious to projectiles, always managing to deflect, parry or simply shrug off all ranged attacks. The exception is when fighting groups.

There are various other rules to which Mecha-Ryla subscribes, such as being much more likely to be injured by projectiles if the firer screams while using them, or growing less resilient when small groups of enemies openly express their friendship between themselves.

It should be noted that although she may display any of countless weapons and armaments, by far her most frequent ones are missiles fired from her fingers, multi-colored particle beams emitted from her eyes, or a good old fashioned chainsaw-hand.

However, Mecha-Ryla's most devastating attribute is the fact that if an enemy does somehow manage to kill her, she's allowed to resurrect herself a single time in order to increase drama.

Overall, Mecha-Ryla is a creature that is borderline unstoppable, unless one is even remotely genre-savvy.
