NBL (rebuilt)

From within his provided 'chambers' for the tournament, Draz'hil watched the other matches unfold. There were no 'Televisions' or 'Monitors' or any of the like in the room, but such crude pieces of technology were unneeded for the being.

All of the matches would have proved most interesting to a lesser being, though Draz'hil didn't live to his third millenia without "seeing it all", as the mortal's spoke, and only two of the events caught his proverbial eye.

There was a psyker-blade that took too much time toying with his foes, either taunting or surgical strikes would be its downfall. A Mage specializing in Ice Magic and Conjuration, a resistance to Magic would be his folly. Thief-Illusionist who seemed to lack any major specialization, brute force in any real category would overwhelm the fellow. Kensai-Mage who fought 'fair' matches, dishonorable competition was to be his end.

Two of the matches, though, were of greater interest.

First came a strange Combat Golem. The size seemed... inadequate, though the brute force it showed was not to be underestimated. Ranged attacks seemed painfully weak, however, with the gaze attack doing little more than a combat swing. Keeping it at a distance would be most effective.

The later was of the most concern. A beast that was as much Magical Monstrosity as Metal. It exchanged attacks powerful enough to critically maim a pair of fully grown Natural Monstrosities before something seemed to disable it enough to be picked off at the opponnent's leisure. The fact that one of the two standing beings could be one of his 'opponnents', assuming that their surprisingly durable forms were 'healed' for the next match, spoke of a need to focus on precise attacks to strike vitals.

Having spent enough time away from his 'body', Draz'hil began to go over the information he had acquired. Preperation was a wonderful tool, one that he would exploit to its limits.

Hellion Oben say, reminiscing over his his previous preliminary fight; musing over the futile cries of his victim.

He entered the arena, black robes flowing in the wind; he waited for his opponent to enter. It didn't take long for that foolish youth that was his opponent to come strutting out in front of him; brandishing a blade twice as long as he was with little difficulty. His voice was prideful and his stance cocky; an easy target.

He wore a simple leather armor with loose linen pants and heavy boots, the sword he brandished, secured safely on his back. He took one look at Hellion and grinned, "What the hell do you think you're looking at mage?" the young man bellowed. "Don't you know I've killed Nagas before?"

"Only Nagas?" Hellion asked with a sinister tone in his voice. "What a pity, by the look of you I'd say you probably only have slain one; a sick and dying one more than likely."

This hit home with his young adversary, gritting his teeth as he reached back and grabbed his sword. With a fluid motion he brought it out to face Hellion with an audible swishing sound. "You'll pay for that comment you cur!"

He charged in, without even thinking; his sword raised above his head in an attempt to bring it crashing down upon his foe. Hellion didn't move; he lowered his head with a smirk on his face. In one swift motion, he threw his left arm to his side. It seemed to vanish into a ripple in the very fabric of reality momentarily, but with a yank; he pulled a jet black staff with a red orb affixed to the head of the staff from this "portal."

The orb was surrounded by extensions from the staff, as if were being grasped by a clawed grasp. The air around Hellion seemed to pulsate as the dust around his feet took flight; as if to escape some unknown fate. With a sadistic look of glee on his face, Hellion swung the hellish staff forward as he uttered a small incantation under his breath.

In response to his silent command, arms heads and all manner of other appendages began to erupt from the ground; some grabbing the fool-hearted boy, holding him fast to his position. With grim satisfaction, Hellion approached the boy, "You made the mistake of charging in without a plan," he began, "this tells me you're young and inexperienced on the field of battle."

The young man seemed in shock, the hands and other appendages that held him were decayed, rotting corpses. Men, women and children of all walks of life and race. Neko, Naga and Human; they all seemed to rise at his very command. "The second mistake you made was thinking that I was a mere mage. No, I'm much more terrifying then that. I'm a Necromancer; one who commands the bodies of the dead."

The staff's red orb began to glow fiercely, as if urging Hellion to finish it. "Well now, it seems my little friend here is somewhat in a hurry. I shall not take you soul this time boy, but I must teach you a lesson for your insolence." Hellion looked to his summoned minions and began to walk away.

"Tear him limb from limb."

Following his commands, the corpses began to rip him apart; slowly at first, his screams echoing as his left arm came out of it's socket. Next his right leg, then his left leg and lastly his left arm. What was left of him squirmed on the ground before the undead horde began to tear into his chest cavity, quickly drowning out the gurgling screams of pain in a flurry of blood and guts.

"Foolish child," Hellion mused, "it was a shame to let such a strong soul get away from me but I don't think our sponsors would like me to completely subvert their resurrection process." Hellion smirked as he recalled the screams of his latest victim.

Now starting First match.

First Round: Maiko VS Zakun'Dais

Maiko began preparing herself for her 1st match of the Tourney, fluffing her dress and making sure all her gadgets were in working order (at least to some extent) "O-Okay, this is my fir-first match of the to-tournament" she said as she was trying to psyche herself up "F-for Jer-Jermod-mod-sama!" She bursts forward using her jet propelled shoes the crowding cheering for the ill-fated mechanical maid. she stood in the arena awaiting her opponent a look of determination in her cybernetic eyes

Zakun'Dais cracks his knuckles and stretches. "Finally a real match!", he thought. With zealous vigor he rushed up to the arena and walked towards his opponent. Stopping about twenty feet away from her he summoned his swords and stood ready. He looked at the other combatant, "Ready when you are."

As Zakun shows himself Maiko courtseys to show him respect "Greet-Greetings, I ho-hope we can have a good ma-match together-gether" With that said the maids eyes glow an ominous red as they begin to scan her opponent "Battle Mode initiated. Target Threat Level: High. Increasing Power Output" Maiko's body begins to put off steam as her hands transform into her combat fists "Current Output: Medium High 30% power flow" Maiko then bursts forward, propelled by the small rocket boosters in her shoes, her fists outstretched toward Zakun'Dais, intent on knocking him back.

"Here I come-come-come-come" Suddenly Maiko freezes dead in her tracks as the dreaded 'DING' chimes from her body "Doorways(c) has encountered a fatal error and has to shutdown, we are sorry for any inconvience this may have caused, initiating auto-restart" and with that she shuts down and begins to reboot...

Zakun'Dais grins, "'Threat Level: High'? I'm flattered." As he watched the mechanized maiden begin to charge he readied himself to roll out of the way. But, just as he proceeded to do so he stopped when he noticed she had ceased her advance. He cocked his head in confusion, "Fatal error?", he said. He then remembered that this had happened before, back in her preliminary match. Seeing no honor in dueling a defenseless combatant he decided to wait until she was operational again.

Maiko eventually rebooted her systems he memory having been saved this time so she now remembers her task at hand "So-sorry to keep you wa-waiting like that" she apologized as she holds her hands out, which detacth and fall on their hinges revealing small missiles tucked away in her 'arms' "Rocket's engaged, Target acquired..." she droned taking aim upon Zakun'Dais "Fire, Rockets!" she commands sending the missiles toward her opponent.

Reacting quickly, Zakun hurled a few shadowy projectiles at the oncomming missles destroying some before they could connect. As the others closed in on him he summoned his blades, quickly dodged to the side, and slashed at the missiles as they passed. After brushing some debris off his clothes he proceeded to press the attack. He began running full speed at Maiko, throwing a few projectiles in the process.

Maiko was a bit surprised at her oppenents quickness but she did give him a high threat level so it's to be expected right? "Beam Cannon Engage!" Analyzing the oncoming projectiles she quickly transforms her right arm into a laser cannon, "FIRE!" firing off a beam at one and managing to cancel it out but the others came in too fast to parry and slammed into her with a signifigant amount of force, this in turn locked up her systems causing her to freeze giving her opponent a well open shot...

Zakun'Dais raised an eyebrow at Maiko's reaction time and the power of her weaponry. "Pretty damn impressive.", he thought. Once he saw that (most of) his attack was successful and it had stunned his opponent he increased his speed and charged into her shoulder first.

Zakun's shoulder charge nailed Maiko sending the maid skidding away, quickly regaining control of her system again and recovered from the fall, in one swift motion she shot forward using her rocket shoes, her arms retracted the cannon and transformed into drills intent on running through her opponent if she couldn't hit him from afar.

"WOAH!", said Zakun as he dove out of the way of the drills narrowly escaping being impaled. He managed to come away with only a gash in his leg. Still painful but it was better than having a gaping hole in his torso. He grimaced at the pain at clutched his leg for a second.

Maiko halted her dash skidding across the arena sparks flying from her shoes from the sheer friction, taking note of Zakun's moment of weakness she decided to capatilize on this, she slucthed her fists transforming them into larger knuckles and dashed for her opponent, if she managed to get in a few good combos it could be ballgame...

Zakun'Dais tried to mend his wound as best he could, but he didn't have the time or enough spare power to do much. Regardless he shook it off, faced his oncomming foe, and assumed a defensive stance.

Maiko got right within range and pummled him with left and right jabs, then as she went in for the finished upper cut "Shoryuke-!" Maiko's body freezes

Zakun'Dais was dazed from the blows for a second but quickly regained composure and retaliated by sweep kicking Maiko's legs out from under her.

Maiko felt her feet swept from beneath her and hit the ground with a 'Thud'. She held her hand out and shot it off toward Zakun, if this were to connect she'd be able to grapple him and toss him away from her, giving her time to use her more powerful attacks

Zakun'Dais felt pain shoot up his leg after performing that kick. He was focused on it and didn't notice the grapple arm until it was gripping his ankle...

Maiko pulled at Zakun's leg and hurled him across the arena "Ti-time to end this" Maiko droned transforming bother her arms into laser cannons "Power Levels to Maximum..." the cannons hummed to life as green energy began to collect inside gathering power for her devastating attack "Target Locked..."

Zakun slammed into the ground with a hard 'thud'. He stood up and glared at Maiko, his eyes were engulfed in dark purple flames and he began to feel that familiar demonic rage welling up inside him once again. Once he saw the impending attack about to hit him he braced himself.

Ay, I think it did.

Sadly, I guess i have to close the NBL. I figured out what was wrong with it and i may tweek it later. Oh well, maybe next time.

O.K! Time for an anousment! I'm reopening the NBL *insert cheering here*. With a few tweeks to make it interesting.

First off, instead of One on One fights, it will be one huge brawl to keep this thread active.

Next, getting rid of the restrictions. Fight your hardest or die in the ring.

Lastly, you may use new OC'c that you have imagined. There is no limit to how many you can have but only two people per fight!

Even with these tweeks, the same rules apply (see first page for rules).

Just a reminder, If your godmoding, making the RP unplesent, or just pissing people off, YOU WILL BE KICKED OFF THE THREAD.


Anyway, new OC profiles are to be posted below this one. I will tell you went the new fight will begin when we have enough players.
