As I said before, an awesome first story! I already like both your characters.

Made a change in the vore scene. I mixed up the man who was pulling the wagon and the burlap coat man, so I fixed that.

RaADS PART 2

The sound of flowing water echoed in the cavern. Aisu slowly let himself sink into the spring as he relaxed in the cool water. Surrounding him were the suds of various soaps he had hijacked from merchants.

“Are you enjoying?” Ruby's voice echoed from the corridor as she slid into the room.

“Oh, I am, Ruby. What brings you down here. Are you hungry already?”

“Oh, no, Aisu, I noticed that the ice box is getting empty.”

Aisu looks up at her. “Empty? Like how many Duikers?”

Ruby pondered as she thought of how many she counted. “I think two,” she said as she held up two fingers.

Aisu looked down. “Two, eh? I guess I have to go hunt today. You mind taking me down to the valley?”

Ruby smiles brightly. “You mean now?”

“After I get dressed, alright Ruby?” said Aisu as he stepped out of the water and began to dry off his body. He put on his clothing, slipped on his shoes, then followed Ruby back into the main chamber of the cave. He picked up some rope and some grain before climbing into Ruby's hands, who then carried him onto his shoulder.

Ruby looked at the soapy water. “Can I get a bath when we return?”

Aisu laughed a bit. “Maybe. Scrubbing your scales is a lengthy effort. It would depend on how I feel.”

“Aw, please?” begged Ruby as she left the cave, her voice fading away as she entered the tundra air.

Aisu leaned his head into her ear and said, “Okay, Ruby. If you do a good job protecting me, I'll make you nice and shiny!”

Ruby silently rejoiced as she rolled down the slopes toward the forest. Aisu's still-wet hair froze together as he huddled up on Ruby's shoulder, shivering as his companion carried him toward the valley. The temperature eased up and the snow became more sporadic as trees surrounded them, signaling their arrival.

Aisu got into an upright position and looked up at his mate. “So, Ruby, ya think we'll ever move to a warmer place?”

Ruby let him down and looked at him. She thought for a second and said, “Are you sure? You'd leave the cave that's our home?”

“Well, if I have to huddle up keep from freezing to death outside that cave, it'd be problematic in the long run,” said Aisu as he wandered into the woods, Ruby following close behind.

“Well, I'm fine out there. If you had skin like me!” Ruby proudly rubbed her body, smiling brightly as she looked down at her human companion.

“Hmm... well, I'll tell you what. You kill a Kensha Beast, and I'll gladly make a coat out of it,” Aisu snarked as he looked around for a place that Duikers would roam. “Fur like that would certainly make a good coat.”

Ruby looked startled, and said in a dubious tone, “But those are the big wolfs? I can't go near them.”

Aisu looked up at her for a second. “Next lesson, I'll explain sarcasm, okay Ruby?”

“Sarcasm?”

“It's like trying to be funny by saying the opposite of what you want.”

“How is that funny?” Aisu's logic puzzled the childlike naga.

“It's hard to explain, I'll give it to you when we're back at the cave.”

“After my bath?”

“After your bath.” Aisu looked around and saw nothing big or scary, just some grass where some Duikers would feed and a couple of bushes, one of which seemed to be atop a mossy rock. “Okay, Ruby. Keep a perimeter around me. If you see anything approach me, warn me so I can escape.”

Ruby nodded eagerly and began to circle the area, keeping watch for any Kensha Beasts or other nagas. Aisu, on the other hand, was setting up some simple snares with some grain. After he finished, he hopped into the bushes and watched eagerly for some prey.

Ruby patrolled the area, slithering laps around where Aisu was hiding. She looked around, making sure not a single predator would come near. She would have been completely focused if she had not heard the sound of squawking. Distracted, she looked up and saw a large bird sitting up on a branch. It fascinated the curious naga, who watched it and tried to make out some details about it. Something inside her made her want that bird. She looked around one more time for predators, then she started to coil her body. She aimed herself right at the bird, and used her tail to spring up. She flung though the air as she grasped the bird in her hand and plopped onto the ground. It's wings flapped wildly as she held its body tightly. Not hesitating, she stuffed it in her mouth and swallowed it. She laughed cutely as she felt it flapping in her belly. “Hey, little birdy. Do you like it in there?” She innocently poked her navel and giggled brightly, almost completely forgetting about the one she needed to protect.

Aisu sat in the bush, watching the traps intently. Occasionally, a small Duiker would come by, but were often full from eating other things. He waited silently, but the sight of a slightly rustling bush started to unnerve him. He slowly stepped out of his bush, and cautiously readied his rod. Slowly, step-by-step, he walked toward the bush, possibly housing a Kensha pup or a naga. He was a yard away, and he studied the bush. He now knew what it was.

“Oh,shi―” he was interrupted as the giant Moss Basilisk lunged toward him, Aisu barely escaping its unforgiving jaw. He rolled away and held his rod against his hand, preparing to bind the beast, but before it resonated, it lunged again, forcing Aisu to break his concentration to dodge. He tried not to make any sudden movements. He backed away slowly, his breathing and heart rate climbing toward infinity. His tried to move away slowly, avoiding every urge in him to run. His legs slowly carried him backward, but the massive reptile attacked again. Aisu fell to the ground and rolled clumsily as he tried to get to his feet, and he broke out running, panting and afraid.

“Ruby!” he called, the basilisk following him, catching up to him steadily. He grabbed a low branch and hauled himself up a tree as high as he could. “Ruby!?“ his eyes began to tear up as he feared for his life. “Ruby!?” The lizard slowly climbed its way up the tree. Aisu was on the highest branch that he could reach. He knew that it could easily get him off from the low height he was at. He closed his eyes and awaited the feeling of its teeth on his body.

He heard a loud crash, and opened his eyes. It was Ruby, who had heard Aisu's cries. She tackled the basilisk with all of her strength. She did her best to hold its jaws tight as her long tail slowly constricted it. Her tail crushed and squeezed it until it started to gasp. With each attempt it made to escape, she pulled herself tighter on the predator. As the minutes passed, its movements became less and less, until it finally stopped. Ruby slowly let herself uncoil. Aisu started to approach her, but she stopped him. “Wait!” She got on her belly and rose her tail high, slamming it down on various vital parts of the reptile. With a large crash, her tail came down on its back. A loud crack signaled the contact between it and the neck, and with one, loud, unpleasant sound, her tail delivered its full force onto its skull. It was done. Aisu's life would continue yet.

Aisu approached Ruby, who lifted him up to her face.

Ruby asked, “Are you okay?”

Aisu's body was throbbing with adrenaline. He couldn't get a word out without hopelessly stuttering. With no output for his emotions, he buried his face in her chin and sobbed loudly. Ruby gently stroked his body with her finger, then placed him on her shoulder. As he let his emotions pour out onto Ruby's neck, she took the rope Aisu had and used it to tie the carcass to her tail. It would at least make up for the lack of Duikers in his traps. Silently, the duo headed up the slope toward home.

In the cave's spring chamber, Ruby let herself underneath the stream of water that flowed into the pool. Aisu covered a long-handled custom-made brush with some soap, the started going over Ruby's scales with it. As she washed her hair, she looked down at Aisu. “I guess you're okay now?”

Aisu looked up and said, “Yes. I am. Sorry about worrying you.”

“It's okay!” said Ruby as she laughed a bit, the brush tickling her.

Ruby's body twisted and jerked as Aisu scrubbed her.“Stay still, so I can get you all shined up.”

Splashes and laughter echoed through the cave as night fell over the Imoreith Tundra. Eventually, the couple curled up together, knowing that when they awoke, a new day, with new stuff to be done, would be there for the taking.

The sounds of life echoed throughout the valley. A gentle rain sprinkled down through the trees, giving the land an ethereal shine. Aisu and Ruby, a young duo of human and naga, moved down the steep, rocky slope into the mild, wet forest.

Aisu looked around from Ruby's shoulder. “The rain'll make it hard for us to hunt. Our best bet would be to look for a camp or a cave. Anything that looks like a shelter. Okay, Rube?”

“Okay, I'll look!”

Ruby wiped the rain from her eyes and nodded enthusiastically. She let Aisu down beside her and started to look around herself. Ruby started to slide deeper into the woods, Aisu walking beside her, watching his back and keeping an eye out for any other creatures.

White blankets of clouds rolled over the valley as the couple wandered out into the woods. The needles on the trees waved with the force of the wind pushing against the branches. The whole forest seemed alive, moving and raining over the heads of Aisu and Ruby. The giant naga looked toward the horizon, and saw a small silhouette.

“Hey Aisu, I see something,” Ruby said as she tried focusing on the moving object in the distance. They slowly moved closer to see that it was.

Aisu looked out in its direction. “I think it's a person.” He walked a bit further and looked again. “A neko. Let me get a closer look for you.”

He sprinted behind a tree and slid into a bush. He watched the red-haired neko carefully as she seemed to have something in her hand.

“Something wrong? You seemed distressed.” the neko said to tiny person in her hand, a tomthumb.

The tomthumb trembled, wet and cold. She looked up at the neko. “I'm so cold. I've never felt so wet in my life. And now I have a giant neko holding me.”

“Oh don't worry. I just want to help you find shelter.”

“I- I don't know if I can believe you.”

The rain intensified. The neko violently shook her head, sending water everywhere. “Are you sure? I mean I could just leave you here.”

The tiny looked around, surrounded by a barrage of raindrops the size of her head. Reluctantly, she looked up at the neko. “Okay, I'll go with you.”

The neko smiled. “Okay! Just let me put you somewhere you won't get cold,” she said, the tomthumb nodding silently.

Aisu looked on as the neko lifted up the tomthumb, stuffing her into her mouth and then swallowing. He smiled smugly and turned back toward Ruby and walked toward her. The rain started to come down harder as he moved toward her.

“A neko. She's hunting in our territory.”

“Ooh, I like nekos! They're the one with the ears, right?”

“Yes, Ruby,” said Aisu as he looked on towards the neko. The low visibility slowly made her disappear into the gray fog.

The rain grew harder; Aisu's clothes were soaked and stuck to him. Suddenly, there was a bright flash followed by a loud bang. Ruby screeched quietly and hid herself. Another flash of lightning - Thunder echoed through the trees. Lightning flashed all around, always followed by thunder.

Aisu looked around for Ruby. “Ruby? Let's go home! We can wait 'til the rain goes! Ruby!?” She was nowhere to be seen. It was too hard to view anything through the rain.

Aisu wandered aimlessly, calling for Ruby. Every few seconds, lightning blinded him while the thunder tortured his ears. Then there was an especially bright flash. A cracking and a breaking sounded behind him, then all began to go dark.

The sounds of the storm slowly faded away. A dull pain nagged at Aisu's back as he slowly left reality.

Aisu groaned as he came to. He looked around, noticing he was covered in mud. Splinters stuck out from his bleeding arms. He tried to pull himself up, but the weight of a giant branch held him down. He let himself lay there, weakly calling for Ruby as the storm raged around him. He kept weakly shouting for Ruby, but to no effect. He was about to pass out again - but then he felt something; small hands pulling on him. He saw some boots standing beside him before he fainted for a second time.

The ceiling of Ruby's cave was the first thing he saw when he awoke.

“I think he's coming back,” he heard a vaguely familiar voice say.

“Oh, good. Thanks so much for finding him.”

That was Ruby's voice.

Aisu sat up and looked around. To his relief, he saw Ruby, but he also saw that neko.

“Why are you here? What happened?”

Aisu felt very confused. He looked down and saw his shirt and coat were gone, replaced by bloodstained bandages.

“Aisu, I saw that neko-girl and I was going to eat her, but then I saw her carrying you, so I brought her up here.” said Ruby rapidly.

The neko smiled lightly. “Yeah, I was hunting tinies around there, but I saw you passed out under a large branch, so I got you out from under it. I was about to take you back to my village, but then this naga showed up. At first I didn't trust her, but she seemed to know a lot about you.”

Aisu laid back down so that Ruby was in his line of sight. “Thanks, both of you. Sorry if I worried you, Ruby.”

Ruby gave a wide, cute smile.

“It's okay! You're alive!” She said as she gently stroked his aching body with the tip of her tail.

“Oh, my name is Tarina. Nice to meet you two.” Said the neko.

Ruby smiled and waved down at her.

Aisu just smirked. “I guess you'll want to stay the night?”

“Oh sure. I hope I'm not too much of a bother.”

Tarina kicked off her boots and looked down at Aisu.

He looked back at her. “I don't have much to give you in return. Sorry.”

“Oh, it's fine. Just the night will do.”

“Oh, I insist. I think I might actually have something.” He looked around his cave. One thing did catch his eye. He picked it up. His one copy of the Book of Arlen. One of his most prized items from Drelonia. He looked at it, then at the neko. He walked up to her and handed to her the book.

“It's from my homeworld. It's the word of law of all Arlennites like myself. Maybe you could learn something from it.”

Tarina looked down at the book in her hands.

“Thank you. I'll treasure it!” She smiled kindly at Aisu, who weakly smiled back.

Aisu moved back to his resting spot, and laid back down weakly. “Ruby, we'll get you a meal tomorrow, I promise.”

Ruby got down beside him. She picked him up gently and and rested him on her chest. Her tail moved to curl around Tarina. As night fell, the storm in the valley slowly subsided. Soon, sleep came to the trio, and it wouldn't be until the morning that more stuff would come before Aisu and Ruby that needed to be done.

A cold wind whipped into the cave. Outside, a large volume of snow was falling. The cave entrance was strewn with small piles of snow as its inhabitants huddled in the back. The human Aisu slept on the chest of the naga Ruby while their visitor, the neko Tarina, was curled up in Ruby's tail. Aisu stirred and awoke. He slowly moved the giant hand draped over him and jumped off of Ruby. Putting on his coat, he walked past the few remaining embers in the wood pit towards the entrance of the cave. He stood just inside their shelter and watched the snow fall. Flakes swirled into the cave and collected on Aisu's coat. It hadn't snowed this much in a long time. There was something almost hypnotic about it. Something that made Aisu want to watch it forever, though he eventually turned back and went to Ruby. He clambered back onto her, curled up on her chest, and pulled her hand back over him. Ruby's warmth and familiar heartbeat quickly lulled him back to sleep.

The morning sun lit the cave to it's corners. Ruby awoke to the feeling of Aisu's footsteps on her body. He jumped down onto the cave floor and grabbed his coat. Tarina was already munching on some Duiker meat for breakfast. She handed Aisu a bit of the cooked meal. “Well, you'll need to take me back down now today.”

Aisu nodded as he bit off a chunk of the meat. “Yep. You'll be fine on your own, right?”

“Oh yeah. Don't worry, Aisu. I'll be fine,” Tarina said, looking up at the awaking naga. “Good morning, Ruby.”

Ruby stretched and rubbed her empty belly. “Good morning, Tarina. Did you sleep well?”

Tarina smiled brightly. “I did! Your tail definitely beats the tents I've been sleeping in for the past week.”

Ruby smiled back. “Slept better than Aisu, I see!”

Aisu looked up. “Huh? What about me?”

“I felt you get up last night.”

“Ah. I thought you were asleep,” replied Aisu as he finished his meal. “I just wanted to see the snow. I didn't see much of it back on Drelonia. It never snowed at all in Arlennia, and I only lived up north for two years before I ended up here.”

Ruby looked out the entrance to the cave. “I saw lots of snow. It just doesn't do it often.”

Aisu stood beside her, gazing our the entrance alongside her. “Yeah. Well, we should head out. We can see the snow closer up.”

The giant naga nodded excitedly, putting her small companions on her shoulder, and then left the cave, sliding down the tundra towards the forest.

Ruby entered the valley, her tail covered in the freshly fallen snow. Tarina climbed down onto the path. “Well, thanks for everything. I do need to head back to my village, though” she said as she started off.

Aisu and Ruby both waved and said their goodbyes as she disappeared over the horizon. The duo moved deeper into the woods, and Aisu climbed down off his perch on Ruby's shoulder. He looked around, then back up at Ruby.

“Well, it's still a bit wet down here. I'll try and find you some prey, alright?”

“Alright!” Ruby said, nodding with a cute smile on her face. Aisu strode into the woods, Ruby following a few yards behind. He clambered up into a smaller tree and scanned the surroundings, throwing a quick fireball into every bush he saw. He eyed the horizon, and every inch of ground he could see. Satisfied, he climbed down. “Okay, Ruby. Promise me you'll keep the area safe while we hunt? If you see any predators, like Kenshas, Basilisks, other nagas, or anything dangerous, be sure to warn me.”

Ruby smiled. “Okay, Aisu! I'll keep you safe,” she replied as she turned and started slithering towards the horizon. Aisu walked up to a small plant and picked the berries from it, eating a few. Their sweetness perked him up. He set up some simple traps and got into a small wooded area to wait.

Ruby looked around. There didn't seem to be anything around. Chirps and other various sounds echoed through the woods, but there didn't appear to be anything substantial. Her belly rumbled impatiently. There had to be some sort of food nearby. The valley was never empty like this. No large animals, humans, nekos, or elves were around at all. It was colder than usual, but that should not have had such an effect on prey activity. It was probably just bad timing. Disappointed, Ruby started to head back toward Aisu.

Aisu heard a sound. He looked out to see that a Duiker had been captured, dangling in the air, making small panicked noises. Excited, he walked out toward it. With the blade attached on his rod, he cut its throat and then started to undo the ropes. Almost as soon as he got it freed, something wrapped around him and jerked him backwards. It looked to be a black tail with red patterns. He looked behind him and caught a glimpse of a blonde-haired human-half. A naga.

The naga wrapped her tail around Aisu. He tried to struggle but couldn't move his body. She rested her torso just over Aisu and messed up his hair playfully “You thought you'd actually caught one on your own?”

Aisu tried to cuss at her, but couldn't even accomplish that. His lungs were being squeezed just enough that he couldn't get any words out - or call for Ruby. He could breathe, barely, but escape was impossible. The naga looked at him hungrily. “Don't worry, I won't choke you. I want to feel you struggle!” she said as she positioned her face over Aisu's head, preparing to swallow him.

Her jaw unhinged and her mouth gaped open. She placed it on Aisu's scalp, slowly stretching her cheeks over his skull. This action slightly loosened her grip, but it was enough, so he seized the opportunity. “Ruby!?” he called at the top of his aching lungs. As soon as the words left his mouth, the naga tightened her hold once more.

Ruby slithered dejectedly across the wet ground. Upset that she didn't catch anything, she looked around one more time hoping to maybe get lucky. She rubbed her belly and sighed. “Maybe Aisu found something,” she said to herself, returning to where she had left her friend.

Meanwhile, Aisu wriggled in his captor's grasp. Her mouth had enveloped the top half of his head. He tried to get his hands free so that he could grab his rod, but it was of no use. She moved her mouth even further over him. He couldn't see anything but the inside of her throat. He knew his chances were rapidly fading. He kept struggling, hoping for a moment that he could get an arm loose. Suddenly he felt his body being lifted upwards. The naga's mouth withdrew and she looked up in confusion. It was Ruby, who had returned from her hunt. “Let him go,” she said sternly.

“O-Okay!” said the frightened naga. Her coils loosened, and Aisu fell into Ruby's other hand. His aching body curled up as he gave a sigh of relief.

“Thank you, Ruby,” he gasped as he looked up at his savior.

Ruby nodded back and looked at the smaller naga, licking her lips. Without a second to spare, she snatched her off the ground and stuffed her headfirst into her mouth, slurping her up like spaghetti, swallowing every few seconds. The smaller naga slid down her esophagus and landed in Ruby's stomach. Her tail slowly coiled over her as more and more of it was forced onto her. She laid cramped in Ruby's belly, in a state of total panic - a soft heartbeat echoing above her.

Ruby sighed contently. “I guess my hunt wasn't so terrible after all!” she said, looking down at Aisu, who managed to sit himself upright.

“Mind if I get my catch?” he asked her. She smiled at him, lowering him to the ground down. He walked carefully to the Duiker carcass and picked it up, along with his dropped rod. “Alright. Let's head back home.”

Aisu rode Ruby's hand up to her shoulder, and they made their way back towards the tundra, and home.

Aisu ate the leg of an earlier catch. His arms were still sore from the bruises, but he felt fine. Ruby was curled around the fire that Aisu had built. He looked at the naga. “Ruby - Thanks again for saving me.”

Ruby nodded happily. “You're welcome! You really seem to attract stuff that wants to kill you.”

Aisu smirked and said, “Yeah, I do, don't I? Well, you're always there to save me, so nothing can succeed in finishing me off.” He finished the leg and threw the bone into the flames. Ruby scooped him up and rolled onto her back, placing Aisu on her belly.

“Er, Ruby." said Aisu quietly. "Mind if I sleep up on your chest again tonight? As much as I'd love to listen to her digest, the fact that it was almost me today makes me feel uneasy.”

Ruby agreed and lifted him onto her chest. He curled up as she rested a protective hand over him.

“Night, Ruby.”

“Night, Aisu!”

The couple slowly drifted into a deep sleep. The fire slowly burned out as the night crept onwards, the pair sleeping and dreaming happily, together.

Told you my general consensus when I edited it. Solid stuff.

Now that I think you got the hang of the characters, are you going to try new things? Maybe more than just hunting, or a further step into character development?

Maybe. Not sure where to go, though. I'd need to think of what things they could do...

Interesting read. I like how Ruby saves Aisu just in the nick of time.

At first I thought the inspiration for the mercenary might have been the Heavy from TF2, but after I reread his dialogue a couple times I thought otherwise. I'll keep thinking of it. It sounds vaguely familiar...

What else could it be other than the Heavy? o__o

It's obvious to anyone who has played TF2 that the merc is based off the Heavy.
(Not so obvious to anyone who hasn't).

Maybe I should actually play TF2 one day and not just watch YouTube videos about it. Maybe when my brother lets me and my internet lasts a bit longer than an hour...

Aisu was resting on Ruby's bosom. Everything was still. An eerie silence had gripped the cave. A dim light filtered in from the outside. Aisu was filled with a feeling of lethargy. He felt almost numb, until he was pushed forward and jerked upward.

Ruby's fingers held him with an unusual violence. Before Aisu could question her, he was engulfed by a warm breeze as she tossed him into his mouth. He got to his hands and knees, and tried to crawl out, but her tongue flicked him back to her throat. As her esophageal muscles pulled him down, his cries for help slowly echoed into an ethereal blur as the darkness overtook him.

Aisu's eyes opened and his entire body jerked upward as he awoke from the nightmare. Ruby's giant fingers were wrapped delicately over his body, and his legs rested gently between her breasts. His eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, allowing him to see Ruby's face, her eyes closed peacefully and a small amount of drool dripping from the corner of her lips. Aisu's breathing gradually returned to normal. He put his head back down and let himself fall back to sleep.

When the light of the sun began to overcome the darkness in the cave, Aisu was already up, roasting the leg of an Idarik he had caught several days back. Ruby awoke from her sleep and rolled herself upright. Her eyes met her human companion as she gave an adorable smile.

“Good morning!”

Aisu was still focused on his breakfast.

“Morning, Ruby,” he sighed as he slowly rotated the oversized drumstick on the homemade rotisserie.

“Is something wrong, Aisu?” asked Ruby with a concerned look in her eyes.

Aisu looked up at her, smiling as best he could.

“Oh, don't worry. I just had a bad dream last night, and I'm trying to lose the memory.”

He turned he attention back to his meal, though Ruby continued to look at him with concern. “Don't worry. It's just a stupid little fear I have in the back of my mind. Forget about it.”

“Aisu, what are you scared of?”

Aisu let out a deep breath and looked up at the naga. He paused as he considered the ramifications of revealing his dark thoughts to his still very innocent friend.

He looked down, scratching the back of his head. “Ruby. Would you ever, um... would you ever think about eating me?”

Ruby gave a startled look as she tried to process Aisu's question. She gently scooped him up into her hands, her palms cupped in front of her face. Aisu knelt quietly with bowed head. Ruby's eyes were fixed on him. “Why would I want to eat you?” she finally said.

“I don't know. I just watch you eat humans, elves, and nekos all the time. I have no problem with you eating them. Maybe it's just human nature to be scared of the deaths we witness. I do know you well enough to be sure that you won't... but still... I'm afraid that maybe while I'm cleaning your teeth or stitching up cuts in your gums, you'll lose control and you'll be too scared to know what to do until it's too late. Not that you'll do it on purpose... but... it's still a silly fear I have.”

Ruby sighed, biting her lip as she though. She then smiled awkwardly. “I won't. I promise!”

“Even if you find my flavor to be ambrosial, unlike anything else you've ever consumed in your life?” replied Aisu.

“I don't know what that means, but sure!”

Aisu laughed out loud. Ruby set him back down; he retrieved his breakfast, which had overcooked on one side. He bit into while he walked over to Ruby, leaning against her scales.

“I wonder how I can shake this fear” he said, looking up at Ruby.

“I don't know. Maybe think more like a predator and less like prey?” suggested Ruby.

“Maybe. I don't know. I hunt animals, but never anything sentient. The idea feels weird to me.” Aisu munched into the leg again. “I saw Tarina eat a small person, a tomthumb I think. So could I, but the thought doesn't feel right. I've been fine hunting animals, anyway.”

Ruby held her stomach as it gave a low rumble..”All this talk about eating is making me hungry.”

Aisu wolfed down the rest of his breakfast and tossed the bone aside. “Alright, Ruby. I guess we'll go down and find ya some food, alright?”

Ruby nodded eagerly. Her fingers gingerly grasped Aisu as she placed him on her shoulder. Once Aisu took his seat, they left the cave and started down the mountain towards their hunting grounds.

The mild air of the valley was a welcoming feeling. Light snow was sprinkling over the trees, and a gentle breeze filled the forest with a soothing sound. Ruby slid toward the path used frequently by merchants and adventurers and, by luck, there was an elven couple cautiously walking from the east. Ruby's face lit up as she quietly rejoiced. “I haven't seen any elves in a while!”

Aisu nodded.

“Yeah, let's get 'em for you. There's only two, so it won't be hard to trap them". He motioned with his hand, signaling Ruby to hide herself behind a large bush.

“Telv, are you sure we should be out here?” The young elven brunette in the blue jacket and white dress looked to her mate with worry.

The tall blonde elf with the leather coat and boots, gave a confident reply. “Don't worry, Denev. I think if anything tries to attack, I can drive them away!”

“Are you sure?”

“Don't worry, Denev. I promise that we'll get home safe.”

“Well, if you say so.” Denev moved closer to Telv and wrapped an arm around his.

Aisu climbed into a tree and onto a branch that hung over the path. The couple walked closer, strolling carefully towards the trap. When they came close, Aisu signaled Ruby, and her tail whipped out of the bush, binding Denev. Before Telv could do anything, Aisu jumped from the tree, landing on Telv. He pinned him down as Ruby held Denev wrapped in the tip of her tail. The elf girl was lifted to her open mouth before she knew what was happening. Her feet felt the steamy breath as she was flung onto the naga's tongue. Telv could only watch from under Aisu's grip as his mate was swallowed, only letting out the beginning of a scream.

Telv struggled underneath Aisu.

“Get off me, you bloody pred-loving traitor!” he shouted with rage and venom.

Aisu lifted one hand to mess with his hair. “I'm no traitor.”

Ruby carefully dragged Telv out from underneath Aisu.

“I've never even met you.”

Ruby popped him into her open mouth, closing her lips around him. Aisu gazed steadily at them.

“We should've been friends so I could've really betrayed you. That way, your accusation would've made sense. Guess now it's too late.” Telv continued to struggle in Ruby's lips. “Well, salute. Cya in Hell,” and with that, Ruby slurped the elf back into her throat and gulped loudly.

Aisu gave a frustrated sigh. “I'm tired of hearing that 'traitor' crap. You're family to me, Ruby. You get priority in my book.”

Ruby smiled contently. “Is 'priority' yummy?”

Aisu chuckled and climbed back onto Ruby. “Yeah, you could say it is. Let's go home for now.”

Aisu lounged beside Ruby, who was rubbing her belly with pleasure. He dipped a piece of fruit into some honey and munched into it. “So, Ruby. You sure about not eating me?”

Ruby giggled. “Of course! As long I can eat, you're safe! Even if I can't eat, I'd never think of harming you. You're... you're family.”

Aisu got up and looked out of the cave. The sun was sinking below the horizon. He moved back towards Ruby and rested beside her body, slowly falling into sleep. Ruby carefully picked up the weary human and rested him on her chest, then slowly nodded off herself as the night chased off the last of the light.

The roaring sound of the falls continued to fill the air as the four travelers made their way around the broad end of the canyon. As they reached the head of the falls, they gazed at the rough water as it flowed past the white rocks, swept over the rugged cliff and plunged into the canyon.

Aisu looked down the length of the rift.

“How did this get here?” he asked in awe. “There was nothing like this back where I was born.”

Stark continued to eye the white rocks, which were stained red at the base by the water's force. “Nay, lad. May'e a wiz'rd did it, but pro'ly jus' the force o' nature, I think.”

“Think we'll be able to cross here?” interrupted Tarina as she walked over to the edge of the divide

Ruby perked up. “Yep, I can get us over!” she proudly exclaimed. “I can be a bridge!”

She hastily slid her body over the chasm and onto the rocks until her bosom rested on the other side of the water, her tail laying on the ground around Aisu and the others. The young mage watched Ruby hold herself over the water and shook his head.

“I don't know, what if Ruby slips?” he said, worried. “I could just freeze the river so we can cross.”

“I dunno, lad. Block the river wi' ice, an' ya may mess some'in' up down in da canyon,” said Stark as he started to walk across the young naga. "And you dun wan' tah mess wi' things 'ere if'n ye can help it."

“If you say so.” replied Aisu, deciding to heed the words of the older neko.

Stark was already leading the way and Aisu followed behind him, Tarina taking up the rear. Soon they were standing on the other side of the ravine. Just as Ruby began to pull herself over to the other side, a large shadow swooped up from the cliff.

“What is that!?” exclaimed Tarina as the large creature turned around to face the part with the sound of rushing wind.

It was a large harpy with leathery wings and a strange boney protrusion coming out of her forehead. Her dark hair reached all the way down to her rear. She flapped her wings for a moment, eying the group below intensely, before she swooped down towards them. Ruby squealed and panicked as she pulled herself the rest of the way up. As the harpy's claws came down, Ruby threw herself over her tiny companions, protecting them from the attack. Stark unsheathed his sword and looked up at the beast. “Aye, a harpy. A sledgewyver to be pr'cise. Nor'lly live up North in the tun'ra.”

“Can we beat it?” said Aisu as he armed himself with his rod. “Should we run?”

“Can't run, lad. Ei'er we beat it or we git eat'n.”

“Oi, alright, we can do it. I hope,” the young mage sighed.

The sledgewyver swooped down again, her claws out. Stark leapt at the harpy and swung his sword at her foot, but her talons struck his wrist, knocking his sword out of his hand and over the edge of the chasm. While she was attempting to snatch the disarmed neko below her, Aisu shot a brilliant burst of flame. The fire washed over her wings, causing her to cringe and shriek as she focused on beating out the blaze. Seeing she was distracted, Ruby got up and swung her tail at the winged woman, but the harpy deftly rolled out of the way of the attack and went for the troublesome mage. Upon seeing the enemy coming for him, Aisu started to charge a binding spell, but her talons wrapped around him before he could utter a word, causing him to lose his focus. She flew high into the air, carrying Aisu in her grasp.

“Aisu!” cried Ruby frantically, her eyes filling with tears.

“Don't worry, Ruby,” assured Tarina calmly as she suddenly flung a dagger at the fleeing harpy.

The blade grazed the harpy's ankle, causing Aisu to fall from her grasp. He plummeted as the predator regained her sense and swooped down towards him. Disoriented, he discharged a bolt of lightning, missing her by a mile. He was promptly snatched again and flung violently upwards into the sky. The constant motion and sudden movements was causing him to feel nauseous and dizzy. He shot a few more bolts of electricity, only to hit the mountain with each cast. As he started to fall, he tried to eye the flying fiend as best he could. He desperately wriggled to change his trajectory, and as the harpy came toward him, mouth wide open, he quickly shifted and grabbed her, holding tightly onto her neck.

Her prey having seemed to have vanished, the harpy looked all around for where he might have gone.

“Hey, ya big scary dragon woman thing!” snarked Aisu from his perch.

“Wha!” the sledgewyver spoke, whipping her head around. “Where are ya, you greasy spell-slinging punk!?”

“Oh, so you can talk, eh?”

Aisu was almost knocked away as she swung herself around violently.

“Figured that boney plate would've foiled any attempts for you to learn!”

“When I find ya, I'll bite that dirty mop right off of your shoulders!” she shrieked

She twisted in the air again, looking in vain for her snack.

“I grew up in the city and I'm still kicking your scaly ass!”

She did a backflip, causing Aisu to finally lose his grip. As he fell, the harpy caught sight of him, and snatched him up again. She put all of her strength into her talon and flung him high into the sky. He flew upwards toward the sun. As he reached the apex of the throw, he looked back down towards the hungry harpy. She was heading straight for him, her mouth wide open and a look of triumph on her face.

Desperate, he aimed his hand in her direction. Sweat poured from his body. He gulped loudly as he focused. There was a bright flash. A loud crack filled the air. Then, silence gripped the area.

“So - the meeting?”

An elf with dark hair eyed the hunter, who had been tasked with the extermination of a certain naga.

“Aye, mate. Anything we want; i's ours if we can get the big sheila and her li'l frien'.”

“Well, shouldn't be a problem. Even if you people fail, even the strongest predator would fall to my curses!” the elf said, posing confidently.

“Oi, ya elves and your always acting like you're on top of a big rock! Why do I need to work with ya again?” the hunter growled, glaring at his partner.

“Because of the fortune you owe me, Mark. Remember that bet we made about— ”

“Awright, awright,” Mark the Hunter groaned. “You'll git your money, Cyreth. The reward from this hunt'll give me more 'an enough to pay off your bleedin' debt.”

“Alright, Mark. After that, I'll leave you alone.” Cyreth assured smoothly.

“Awright, ya big-headed weasel. Ya said you had a crew of hunters to help? What for, are you so bloody overconfident that you need a damn audience?”

“Oh, yes. A few persons to help set up traps and such for you.”

“You haven't seen my gun, have ya, mate?”

“Well, I was just considering if you lost it or it's unable to land a killing hit...”

“Sir, I got the gun from an off-worlder from some techno land where people can lis'en to music directly in their brains. The mate hired me to help 'im in the for'st, but a fairy got 'im and I got 'is luvly gun. I'll show ya later - it's quite the work of art.”

Cyreth sighed. “So - a piece of techno-garbage? You and your obsession with those.. tinker toys.”

“You can bugger off, you high-and-mighty wanker!”

“Ugh. Let's just go get this naga so you can pay me and I can be rid of you,” moaned the elf.

They loaded up a small cart and carried it, aided by their crew, into the woods to search for their target, one particular and unsuspecting young naga.

The wind blew loudly over the canyon. Some wisps of smoke rose from the harpy's chest. The bolt had miraculously hit her straight in the heart. This impossible direct blow had ended her so high above the rocks. The last of her upward momentum gave out as she and Aisu met mid-flight. He hitched a ride down on her twitching body as they spun downwards together.

“Aisu!” cried Ruby as she held her arms out.

“Jump, and I'll catch you!”

He looked down and saw her, faintly hearing her words. When he was just over her head, he leapt and dove downwards. The harpy's body crashed against the rocks before tumbling over the edge of the cliff, disappearing in the raging water below. Ruby stretched out her hands, trying to catch Aisu. She lost track of him and started to panic, before realizing that she was starting to choke on something.

"Aisu!” Tarina exclaimed as she watched the naga cough and gag on her friend, who had tumbled into her mouth.

“Aye, how do we help a chokin' giantess?” questioned Stark as he helplessly watched her struggle to breathe.

“Squeeze yourself with your tail!” cried Tarina.

Ruby heard the advice and coiled herself around her bosom. She squeezed and coughed until Aisu was freed from her windpipe. She gently let him down to the ground where he fell backward onto the ground as she tried to catch her breath.

“Ugh, first I get thrown around like a toy, then I almost get eaten, and then I get lodged in your trachea, Ruby. Can we rest here? I've had enough of Felarya for today.” gasped the young mage.

Tarina gave a sigh of relief.

“Yeah, we might as well.” she replied, regaining her composure.

Aisu gingerly stroked his aching head.

“But we beat the waterfall monster, so I guess we're good.” he mused with faint relief.

Stark looked at him with amusement. “Wa'erfall monster!?” he said before he gave a loud and hearty laugh. “Lad, the wa'erfall I meant be much much bigger than this'un! And the monster there be much deadlier!”

Aisu groaned deeply and rolled over.

“I miss the cave.”

Ruby leaned down and stroked him with her finger. “I miss it, too.” she said sympathetically.

“Aye. T'morrow, we'll be in the Direwind Hills. It'll be smooth sailin', mostly, just a few things 'ere and there.” commented Stark.

“Alight, Stark. I guess we'll set up camp,” said Tarina as she unpacked the tent, starting to set it up.

“Aye, lass,” agreed the rugged adventurer, moving to help her.

After the forest green tent was pitched, the three small allies crawled in, Ruby coiling around it to protect it from predators.

“Ya sure we'll be safe here?” asked Aisu as he curled up in a blanket.

Stark stayed motionless on his side of the tent. “Indeed, lad. Nothing too big fer Ruby to handle, I'm sure.”

“Alright, my man. Good night, y'all.” yawned Aisu drowsily.

The four said their good nights. They quickly drifted off to sleep, still weary from their encounter. Though the night fell, they were still being pursued from far off.

Mark and Cyreth followed the path that Ruby and Aisu frequently hunted on. Their eyes watched every tree, hoping to get a glimpse of their target.

“Oi, stop!” ordered Mark.

“What?” snapped back Cyreth irately.

The hunter removed his shades carefully and examined the ground.

“A naga's been here. A big'un at that. May be our quarry; they're qui'e rare up here, the giant ones a' least.”

“So, can we track it?”

“I think so, mate. I can tell where it's gone, so we can follow it.”

“Alright, so what are we waiting for!?” replied the elf impatiently.

“Fine, we're movin', ya whiny dog.”

The duo glared at each other, then groaned. Mark signaled the crew, and they pulled the cart off into the woods. They were on the trail, and no matter what, a confrontation between the two groups was inevitable. He'd make sure of that.

he may be startin to get a fetish. uneasy about it at first, since hed prolly think it was wierd, but hey, out here whose really goin to judge him?

I wouldn't say he's aroused by the dreams, but rather they're based on a subconscious fear he has of Ruby, who regularly dines on sentient humanoids.

true. i think you even mentioned that in the story or bio. just thinkin maybe there was another meanin too it as well
