Suggestions to update the wiki

Here we'll focus on building a list of things you think need to be updated in the wiki.

It's not really meant to be a complaint thread because it will focus on things existing already, and *not* on drastic changes to how the univers functions or should be...

After all Felarya have evolved a lot from what it was at first, and what was true in the beginning, might not be so much anymore, and my english have evolved a bit as well. There are some entries that are really poorly worded here with dull descriptions ^^;
And some that could have some more precisions.

I admit that lately I'm more set on fixing holes in Felarya, and flesh out what already exist, rather than creating whole new things.
There will be time for that later, but no point on building too much and too fast on unstable foundations right ?
The change forum is essentially made for that but let's face it, it's much less read than this one XD

So please don't hesitate, this thread is made for that
But just keep in mind that it's only a suggestion thread.. Suggestions are welcome but posting there don't mean it will necessarily be adressed in the end...

On the list :

- A page about organisations.
- Clarifications about elementals

Many race need some precisions and rewriting their main definitions as nagas and fairies for examples.

The plant life need to be fleshed more about edible plant as vegetables and fruits some giants creature eat to show the diversity in their diet.

We need a section on organisations in the wiki.
We already have some organisations, for example:
The Magiocrats
MUST inc.
Felarya Express

Non-Canon (last time I checked)
F.O.O.D
The Investigators

One of the reasons I'd like this, apart from having all the organisations in one convenient place is that I'm loath to create a section in the Felarya Flash Wiki that doesn't exist in the Web wiki.

There should be a list of guilds too.

Since guilds are organisations, I'd imagine they'd be a sub-section in organisations.

Wasn't that the intention from the start? ^^ besides, I kinda thought that there would be government organizations and guilds, or are there any other sub categories possible?

'Nemises' is the correct plural form for Nemesis.

The Categories should be able to be searched directly...

e.g. If you type in characters and search, you have to redirect yourself to Category:Characters. Same for Locations and Races.

Well, in English the proper plural of "nemesis" is "nemeses", and that's that as far as spelling is concerned. However, if you really want to there's no reason why you can't pluralize "nemesis" as "nemesises". Most people would pluralize it (wrongly) as "nemesi" anyways, (I had to go look up the correct pluralization) and only the really pedantic will even care. It's not like it's absolutely forbidden to change the way things are spelled, or even making words up as you go along ("Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll springs to my mind here, as half of those words don't make any sense today, and the other half didn't make sense when he wrote it, although we've attached meanings to them since then.) --Oldman40k2003 21:06, 10 March 2008 (PDT)

Well, I mentioned a while ago my dislike of the way the word "dimension" was used, in that it follows the typical sci-fi mistake of equating "dimension" with "universe" or "world".

Dimension: A magnitude that, independently or in conjunction with other such magnitudes, serves to define the location of an element within a given set, as of a point on a line, an object in a space, or an event in space-time; a property of space.

Universe: The totality of known or supposed objects and phenomena throughout space; the cosmos.

World: any sphere, realm, or domain, with all pertaining to it; any period, state, or sphere of existence.

Agreed.
I too dislike this misuse of the word "dimension". It makes it very confusing when trying to use it in it's proper sense.

I really agree with that one but sadly it's something that appears to be really complicated in term of server. there is a need for an upgrade or something like that..

actually, that's not true, you can search the the wiki page, or felarya's wiki page at least for the subjects. The little searchbar on the left side of the screen right above the toolbox, will take you to the most relevant topics in the wiki entries.

Mhm, I'm just saying it would all be a bit neater with a direct link if you search there. But I suppose this works.

So you want to flesh things out? Does that mean a subzone of the akaptor desert? because I've been thinking of something regarding that recently.

Uh I couldn't find the section for this to go in so I suppose this is as good place as any. Something I've noticed about the tinies section of the wiki is that there's not alot of pictures of them in Felarya. O.O I think it, despite not beign digital, is a amazingly rare piece and would be great in the Tinies section of the wiki. It would at least give people an idea of the lesser known/ used Tinies and mabye boost their popularity a little.
