Well, characters are separate in the sense that you actually have to click on their names to go to them. It's like going to a different section already. Most humans wouldn't know even the names of these preds, so the list of names under each race is already information that goes beyond regular knowledge.
Besides, an encyclopedia only lists facts, not theories, and making it a compilation of exploration stories would make it hard to make the points we want to convey about a place or race. The Wiki, in the end, is a resource. Making it artistically appealing doesn't help in it's intended purpose, which is conveying information, and making its style consistent is probably a moot point, given the range of topics it covers and the amount of people involved.
