| I am writing a Felarya story on DeviantArt about my character Masurao. Here is the link to chapter one: http://michael-sonofgoku.deviantart.com/art/Naruto-The-Land-of-Felarya-77394247 I will continue to add new links to the next chpters once I finish writing and editing them. Let me know what you think please.

| *sigh* Not another crossover.
Please, in all bluntness, write up something original!

| I'm sort of meh, on cross overs. If they are well done, then I'm OK with them, but I feel the real problem is in the recycling of characters.
I don't mind sharing the same universe however, as long as all of the characters are original. I prefer to build my stuff from scratch, and I think in the end it's probably the better way to write a story.

Then I suggest, bluntly, that you do that. This universe needs new, original ideas-even if it's fun to think "What would *insert-character-here* would do?"

| I base myself on some materials, then I adapt it. I dislike cross-overs since it is fanmade, thus the point of view is different from the actual media. | |

| If you don't like crossovers then don't bother replying to this thread, or don't bother reading the story, or both :p | |

| It's not too badly written, and like my stuff it needs to be edited for spelling errors. I like a bit more set up in introducing the characters and motives(Siafu why the hate man?), as I find that to be more interesting then the actual action. I want to be able to care about a character, and sort of be able to visualize them as a real living being.
So what I recommend, is that you stick more or less to the same plot, but flesh out all of your characters. Explain how the main character got to Felarya and some of what he's experiencing. Try to get inside of the heads of your characters. It doesn't necessarily have to be serious, but try to make them seem "real". That's partially why in my ongoing Raynor story I didn't incorporate Crisis or any other known characters into it, as I didn't know how their creator intended them to think.
Back to why I recommend sharing a universe, but making your own characters. This grants you unlimited freedom to do what you wish with the characters, as they are then a product of your imagination, and only your imagination. This lets you put more life into them, and make them unique, because people don't know what to expect from the character(For example, Raynor's cruel nature puts some people off, yet appeals to some also).
So in a nutshell, I'll list my suggestions.
1. A crossover is fine, but I'd recommend making your own characters just because it gives more control over their personalities. 2. Flesh out your characters. Give them personalities, and tell us of their experiences. Run this question through your mind while doing this, if I didn't know anything about this character what would I think about him/her? 3. Flesh out the plot. Give a reason for the main character to be where he/she is. Give them a purpose.
Hopefully this helps, and gives you some quality feedback.

| I'm just not a fan of crossovers. To be fair, I apologize for being so hostile. Dommo, write what you want-just remember to follow through to the end. | |

| I personnaly think crossovers stories can work but for that it is better to find a original pretext to make it happening I think | |

Agreed, I'm slowly working many things out of my own story to make it more original... though... it still has a ways to go. I'll go ahead and read your story and give you my critique on DA. I'll definitely be giving it my full effort since you're dealing with two pre-existing worlds.

Eh, it'll work. It still has some stuff that needs to be worked out a bit but I think you've done enough to it for now. On to the next chapter!

As am I. A bit of advice, to both of you: Do NOT write yourself into a corner. I mean this as in don't make it so you have to write a difficult to depict scene in order to advance the plot. Too many fanfic writers do such (Just check Mediaminer or Fanfic.net for examples), and too few can dig their way out.

Plan it out, preferably soon. The earlier you figure something out, the more room you'll have for changes later if you decide "What was I thinking then" or "If I do this before I put that in, the story will flow all the beter!:
