Disclaimer: Jade belongs to Ravana3k and Torin City Belongs to gt500x (who I must thank for pointing out small flaws and suggesting good ideas to help build up my Althea character)

Also, this is merely a rough draft of the characters. I do have stories planned for them, but I can't write a story w/o having decent enough characters.

Species: Giant

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Height: 119 feet (36.3 meters)

Hair: Dark brown, short and shaggy

Eyes: Brown

Skin Color: Fair

Other characteristics: Wears a double-breasted tan vest with dark brown knee-length shorts. Has small scars on his arms and legs.

History:

Rael is a Felaryan-born Giant who tends to live (when he isn't travelling) in Tolmeshal forest, where he was born and raised.

Due to being a Giant, a rare race in Felarya, he made friends with fairies around the Fairy Pond and played with them growing up. Having done so, he learned a little bit of magic from them. His best friend, Raisie, taught him the basics of Earth magic, but he was never able to grasp the more upper-intermediate level spells. Unfortunately, his friend was devoured by a Feyweed. When he caught news of it, he immediately stopped practicing Earth magic and fell into a depressed state.

His fairy friends gradually brought him out of his depressed state and he soon realized that staying in such a state wasn't what his best friend would have wanted. Although he still mourns his friend, he finally was able to return to his normal self, becoming more protective of his friends than ever before. From then on, he always kept watch of carnivorous plants, whether it was a threat to fairies or not, making sure that none of them would fall victim to such plants.

While hunting one day, just when he was about to eat a neko, Jade swiftly took him down and saved the neko from his grasp. Dazedly, after glancing at her as she walked away, he fell in love at that very moment.

He has a tendency to travel around, usually to Bulvon Wood, usually to ask the dridder, Jil, how to make a gift for Jade or to ask if she could design material for her so he could impress her with it. Of course, for a fee of either several snacks or some fabric for her. Unfortunately, he can not bring himself to give it to her just yet, as he is aware that the love is one-sided. Usually, he watches her from afar, admiring her from a distance.

Personality

Rael, around his friends, is friendly and outgoing. Having been around fairies, he has a playful nature and is almost always up for a game. However, he becomes quite wary and slightly paranoid whenever a carnivorous or any unfamiliar plant comes into sight, in which he will sometimes persuade his friends to go a different route or will go forth first instead. Due to his location, this happens quite frequently.

For quite some time, after the death of his best friend, he was depressed to the point of nearly being catatonic. It took several years to bring him out of his depression and, although still quite playful, his often cheerful demeanor toned down a bit. He began to use Earth magic more, but never advanced further than the basics.

Having realized how short life could be for his friends, despite living in such a dangerous world, he took up travelling around in order to see as much as he could should the inevitable come when he least expected it.

After being taken down by Jade, he fell in love with her at first sight. He admired the way she fought, her personality, her looks, nearly everything. Although confused as to why she saves the small prey such as nekos and humans, he nonetheless respected her ability to care for such beings.

Abilities

Rael knows the basics (and lower-intermediate spells) of Earth magic, which is enough to form stone walls from the ground to either trap prey and opponents or to sheild himself. He can also make spikes arise.

He is pretty fit, as he travels quite a bit which sometimes involves a lot of climbing, walking, and lifting.

Hunting Habits

Rael usually eats whatever small prey comes his way. Although he sually eats small animals and fruit, he will also eat and hunt larger creatures such as kensha beasts and Glouteux, Aboreal frogs and more. Depending on the creature, he will either use a spear or his Earth magic to catch his prey. More often than most, he uses his spear. He usually uses only uses his Earth magic when his prey is too far, and he will either trap it in or take it out with a boulder.

He, like most predators in Felarya, is voracious, in that he will eat humans and nekos. Like his fairy friends, he enjoys teasing and playing with them before swallowing them whole.

However, he won't eat anyone who resides around the Safe Harbor, knowing full well that it would upset Jade. Also, he will let some of his prey go on very few conditions. One is that he doesn't eat young red-haired girls due to the likeness they share with his deceased friend. Another is that if someone gives him advice as to how he may impress Jade, he will listen and will either eat them if it is something he considered or is too cliché or let them go if it is an original idea. Unfortunately, not many know of his affection for Jade, and thus, they become a quick snack.

Althea "Thea" Tennon

Species: Human

Gender: Female

Age: 20

Height: 5'7 (1.70 meters, 170 cm)

Hair: Short black hair in a messy bob cut, bangs with two dreadlocks on each side wrapped with white bands.

Eyes: Amber-Brown

Skin Color: Brown

Other characteristics: She has a white crescent symbol tattoo on her right forearm. She wears a yellow and black tunic with a dark brown belt (with shouler armor pads), along with grey spandex shorts underneath. She also wears yellow fingerless gloves with the crescent shape on the back of both of them. She wears brown shin-length safari boots with yellow soles. She has a holder for her Crystler Hammer on the back of her tunic. She has an athletic body, but is also curvy and feminine.

History

Althea (nicknamed Thea) grew up in Torin City with her parents, Ginor, a strict but caring man from the Akaptor desert (although was actually from a different world) and Samantha, a woman from the Jungle Bowl. Idealistic and naïve, a young Althea had always wanted to venture the world of Felarya after hearing the many stories from her parents about many tales of brave survivors who entered in the dimension and returned. She aspired to become an adventurer and explore the land in secret, as she believed her parents did not want her to go into the dangerous jungle beyond the cities walls.

When Althea grew older, she observed her father's research of wildlife and studied them, questioning him on certain fauna and creatures. One day, she noticed her father open a secret passage within the home and sneaked in when neither parent was there. Upon entering the passage, she found weaponry and books, and other paraphernalia of artifacts and books that she had read in his journals. Her eyes lit upon a giant silver mallet encased in glass, as well as a book on his records. Too her horror, she realized he was the only survivor after a expedition to Negav. He, his brother and comrades had been mainly attacked by a group of nagas at a checkpoint and only barely managed to escape with his life. At this, she confronted her father about it who told her his entire story.

When she admitted that she wished to explore Felarya despite the dangers she learned of, rather than deter her (at first), he accepted it and began to teach her how to use and wield the Chrystler Hammer, a somewhat enchanted weapon that was forged by his deceased best friend, a former ironsmith who studied very little magic but was able to enchant existing weapons.

Or so she was told. As the hammer has a much darker aspect to it.

Bacause she isn't a true native Torinian, she lacks the innate magical qualities and mutations that the population possesses.

Ten years later, a parasite entered her mother's body, which caused her to have great episodes of pain periodically, which grew worse and worse as the weeks passed. Althea, saddened by the sudden change in her father's attitude and her's mother's worsening condition, became determined to find the cure to her mother's illness. After talking with an experienced doctor, she learned that the cure to her mother's illness was a certain plant that could only be found in deeper Felarya. Her father, realizing that his daughter was willing to venture to such a dangerous zone, began to try to convice his child otherwise in fear that she would not last long beyond the city's gates. However, when he saw that she was determined enough to find the plant, he reluctantly lets her be able to travel and tearfully sees her go, afraid that he might never see his daughter again.

She managed to travel to the city of Negav with one of her closest friends, Esna, a harpy she grew up with.

She and a Negavian-born citizen, who goes by the name Flint, accompany a group of (to begin with) six savvy explorers to deeper Felarya after the danger briefing.

Young and inexperienced due the fact that she had never truly used her skills outside of sparing with her father and others her age, she sometimes believes herself that she survived as long as she could by pure luck. After nearly being eaten by a human-sized naga in her first encounter, which took place merely an hour after entering the jungle, she realizes that she would need to grow more experienced and learn the habits of the species, or else fall victim like too many before her.

Personality

Naïve and young, Althea is unusually optimistic and idealistic to the point that many may view her as somewhat foolish. She is also easily excitable. She sometimes comes off as clumsy and uncoordinated, in which those that know her speculate that she had those traits from her mother. Her personality undergoes drastic changes when she is forced to fight for her life. She becomes a very serious warrior, who isn't above using dirty tactics and methods to take down her opponent, especially against predators. However, most of her attacks are only to incapacitate maim the opponent at most rather than kill them, as she believes that each life is valuable.

Although wary of the dangerous wildlife of Felarya, she has a huge affinity for many of them, especially predators with sentience. Because of this, she can sometimes be too trusting of some predators, which has lead her into getting into unnecessarily dangerous situations. She sometimes observes wildlife from afar, despite the danger of being discovered.

Her ability to be so quick to trust predators stems from the fact that the harpies of the city she was brought up were mainly friends and neighbors she grew up with as a child, one of them being her best friend; a harpy named Esna.

She is quite aquaphobic, as when her father was training her, the weight of the mallet nearly dragged her down and she had to be resuscitated. She had never learned how to swim. Therefore, her biggest fear is to encounter a mermaid, either large or small, and be dragged into the water, where she won't be able to fight back. So she tends to avoid large bodies of water. She also has a poor sense of direction and sometimes finds herself aimlessly walking around. Given the size and immenent dangers of Felarya, she does this alot when trying to escape.

Unlike most explorers, she merely explores Felarya for two reasons: to find the plant to cure her mother's illness and to observe the wildlife like her father once did.

When excited or frightened, she tends to speak very quickly to a point that she sometimes cannot be understood. She also talks up a bluestreak whenever a particular topics regarding her book knowledge on Felarya, in which it is hard to make her quiet.

She has alot of book knowledge of species, but is often caught offguard when she sees a member of a species acting differently than from what she read in her father's records, journals, and books.

She wishes to meet Cypress, after hearing from her mother about the harmonious nature in the bowl, in hopes that she'll be able to befriend an actual native creature of the land. She also aspires to be like and meet Fulmina and hope to be able to venture the world of Felarya like her after she recovers the cure for her mother.


Abilities and Equipment

Althea's weapon of choice is the Chrystler Hammer, a large silver and black war hammer, with the head of the hammer being much larger than her own head. It has engravings all over the head, including her trademark crescent that is on the side of it. Due to the small enchantment placed on it and the fact that it is a slightly empathic, Althea is one of the few people capable of lifting the hammer with little effort, in which for normal humans, the head weighs over 250 kg (slightly over 550 lbs), which is why she never notices the weight. When equipped, she is able to bash and crush stone, metal, and even enemies with much force and power. She is also able to swing it with enough speed for her to conjure enough air to allow her to gain more air time, as well as propel herself in the air. She is able to sometimes perform agile maneuvers with the hammer, as well as cause some physical harm to some predators (but she wouldn't dare take on a giant predator if she can help it).

She knows some martial arts and hand-to-hand combat and is capable of being able to fend for herself, but due to her heavy reliance of her hammer, she can easily be taken down by more experienced fighters or when she is outnumbered by two without it.

She also carries a small revolver when melee fighting is out of the question (given to her by one of the exploreres of her group) when it comes to human-sized predators or antagonistic humans. However, she usually only uses it to maim or incapacitate her opponent. Also, her aim is not really the best.

She also sometimes uses flash grenades she was given by Flint in order to make quick escapes if fighting is totally out of the question (such as a run in with a giant predator or a strong opponent).

Weakness (I probably need to reformat this)

Althea is very much afraid of water due to a childhood trauma involving her almost drowning while training. She doesn't know how to swim and avoids large bodies of water as best as she can.

She is also far too trusting of others for her own good, given that she believes that everyone has a little bit of good in them and that all hybrids have a human mentality in them. However, as time passes, she grows more savvy and wary.

Also, given the size of her mallet, many small predators and humans tend to believe she has superhuman strength; when in all truth, she only has above average strength. When this is discovered, she can be overpowered without her weapon by more experienced fighters.

Cormac

Species: Human

Gender: Male

Age: Real- 179; Biologically-38

Height: 6'4 (1.92 meters, 191 cm)

Hair: Short and cropped blonde, with messy bangs

Eyes: Blue (behind glasses)

Other characteristics: Wears a pair of round glasses. Has a soul patch beard.
Wears what seems to be a purple and gold clergy attire with white pants underneath, with brown boots. Also wears brown gloves. Has a green pendant to fasten the shirt of his attire. He is also muscular.

Element: Electricity/Lightning

History

Not much is known about Cormac, as he distances himself from others. What is known is that he had been studying magic since he was a toddler (not by choice), and became quite adept in using it, becoming a skilled mage at the very unlikely age of eighteen. Rumors have it that he had trained with a fairy he bested, or that he had went to a place far from humans and nekoes to train himself. When confronted about this, he merely chuckled and said, "Let them believe what they want to believe, although I'll let you know that none of it is true."

He lives in Negav and is known to only takes traveling expeditions that only involve the search of incredibly rare artifacts.

Personality

Cormac initially seems to have a cheerful and peaceful disposition, as he usually has a smile on his face and seems like a great listener. He tends to chuckle from time to time in amusement and willing to give advice when his comrades are upset.

However, this not his true-personality.

Behind his idyllic persona, he is an apathetic man who couldn't care less about the lives of others. When his true colors show, he is frighteningly stoic and cruel, willing to use brutal yet practical tactics to achieve his objective. He leans strongly into Pragmatism, his intelligent and calculating mind allows him to determine many strategies that get the job done with little to no compromise when a situation seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

When confronted about his nature, he admits that he is confused as to why many thought he was a good person when he never said he himself was.

Although not quite evil per se, he does many morally ambiguous (and sometimes, not so ambiguous) acts in order to get certain results.

This disconnection to the lives of others makes it very hard to determine what truly goes on in his mind, as he is incredibly inclined to logic than to sentimentality. It is often speculated that if he does have normal emotions, he represses or hides it well enough that no one can tell if he is furious when he projects himself joyful.

However, of the very few things that do interest him are legendary artifacts and their history. He is willing to accompany anyone who is willing to venture to find such artifacts. He searches for a specific artifact, however, that he believes is important to the destruction of Ur-Sagol.

Abilities

As an experienced mage, Cormac has very strong magical abilities, which allow him to perform powerful spells that are capable of taking out entire blocks if he so wanted to. While he is very well rounded in different elements such as Earth, Fire and Ice; however, his specialty is Lightning.

He also does some alchemy, but more as a hobby than anything else.

He is also physically strong, capable of fighting when the need for a fight arises, but he usually avoids such fights, as he believes them to be a waste of time.

Weakness

His lack of empathy and inability to connect with others sometimes leads him to underestimate the power of others when they are fighting for something to protect.

Also, when the very few times he does lose his patience (such as when an artifact is destroyed), his attacks, although more powerful and swift, become sporadic and reckless enough that his actions become predictable.

I like Althea but I am concerned about her being so naïve when it comes to predators. I take it Cormac is going to keep her out of trouble... as long as having her around is beneficial to him XP. I rather like his personality!

So far looks like a pretty solid start!

I really appreciate that you took the time to write complete bios with detailed characters.

One little note - how did Althea's mother get sick? On Felarya pretty much all disease is negated by the healing effect. Just something to explain - on Felarya curses or other malignant magical effects are usually more of a problem than biological disease.

Also, neat that you mentioned Fulmina. (Well, duh I'm going to think that's neat.)

Maybe they will meet one day, in Negav or beyond. Wink

Yep, this seems pretty good. I agree with JT though, I'm wondering how Althea's mother got sick.

Apart from that this all seems quite solid. I like how you've empowered Althea without making her overpowered.

Yeah, there is the healing factor...although there are ways around it. Curses and Parasites work just fine, even in Felarya, for example.

But yeah, looking good so far. Nice going on not only making a pred with a believeable backstory and interesting personality...but also making him male...AND actually making him eat people. Not a lot of people ever do all of that.

Always nice to see someone bringing in some more variety. Keep up the good work ^^

@Jætte_Troll- Hmm...I didn't take that into account. But after reading rcs's post, I think I'll be able to reowrk that. Thanks for letting me know that. Also, your character is too cool to not to be mentioned. Wink

@Anime-Junkie- Thanks. I've had these ideas in my head for quite some time now, and I knew I had to do alot of reworking around their bios and abilities before posting them and using them.

@rcs619- Parasites and curses...I think I can use that. Thanks! Smile Also, yeah, I thought we had a lack of giants and male predators, so I decided, why not make one? We already have a ton of nagas and dridders, why not a race that is a bit lacking in characters (although I believe intentionally due to the rarity of the race, but still...)?

Nice work! The characters are varied, interesting, detailed, and altogether quite life-like. There's quite a bit of potential there for when they actually meet.

(On a small note, the pedant in me would like to point out that Cormac in fact "couldn't care less about the lives of others".)

Well this is a good start! The characters certainly sound good and life-like, and outside the nitpicks the others said I don't see any problem with it. Nice to see more males in the community, and from species that are not used much, to boot!


...Heh, isn't it curious how a lot of male characters around here end up with earth magic?

All jokes aside, I was in between Wind and Earth magic given that the area he lives in is pretty woody and using fire and water magic would be a bit too impractical considering my envision of him. Lightning is already an often used magic so I avoided that, since I alrady have a character who specializes in Lightning. And after doing the "eenie meenie minie mo" b/n Earth and Windwith Earth reigning victor, I thought wind would be better attributed with flying characters (not always, but again, my envision of him seems to fit an Earthly magic more than anything else)

It is quite a breath of fresh air to see a newcomer post a complete profile about her characters and not just ten half-assed lines talking about the character's "history" and its abilities with no abilities. It is quite obvious that you actually gave some thoughts about your characters, and other newcomers should follow this kind of example. You already show a promising future and you only very recently joined the forum.

Thanks! Very Happy I actually had these ideas in my head for weeks, but decided to flesh them out in order to make them as believable and interesting as I possibly could. I am not exactly a stranger to writing stories, so I know the importance of making a character stand out without being on a pedestal. Nobody likes a Mary-Sue (or Gary-Stu, I think they're called).

Still, there are several things I think I need to work on (such as Althea's age and Cormac's real age), as well as Rael's name. Also, although I made Cormac's history short intentionally, I think it is lacking a bit. sweatdrop

Thanks to my laptop crashing, I have very limited use of the internet at the dorms and could only use the home computer to actually get the saved files, which were all wiped out. Anyway, my other character who still need some work. Took me long enough. Will go under HEAVY rehaul due to the fact I realized it is a bit too similar to Anna's personality for my liking.

Frederic "Flint" Montroi

Species: Human

Age: 24

Height: 5'11 (180 cm, 1.80 meters)

Hair: Black, nearly shoulder-length

Eyes: Grey

Skin Color: Somewhat pale at first

Other characteristics: Wears a black T-shirt underneath a safari jacket, as well as safari cargo pants. Has a brown bandana around his neck and brown safari boots. Wears brown protective gloves whenever handling a weapon. Also has a small mole on the left side of his nose, as well as a scar right below his eyelid. Has a long scratch on his left bicep.

History

Flint is a Negavian who born in raised in one of the toughest areas of the city. He grew up in Negav's Underground, The Pit, where he and his family grew up in constant poverty and barely made a living. The oldest of three children, as well as the only boy, he learned to do very menial jobs which included transporting goods, whether it was illegal or not, around the area when his father…disappeared, as well as delivering messages.

Having to support a mother and two younger twin sisters, he never truly had a childhood where he could just play and relax, and thus, learned to become independent at a very young age.

When he was a merely twelve-years old, a wrong delivery was made and one of the member's of that gang had assaulted him with a knife, leaving him with a scar below his left eye and on his arm. From then on, he carried a small pocket knife with him. He also learned to brawl whenever he was in a quandary. He taught himself how to throw knives just in case he was to ever end up in such a situation again.

Unfortunately, he did end up in such a situation, when a drunken neko gang member had attacked him and managed to kill him.
Frightened and conscience-stricken, he ran from the area. He would often tell himself that it was self-defense, but he still felt overwhelming guilt from the incident.

After several years of being a courier, he managed to save enough money to escape the Pit and move to a more suburban area of Negav. He still continued to work however, as the assistant of the kindly elderly merchant that willing to hire him, Cecil. Cecil sold inventions and knick-knacks of a different variety; mechanical toys that he would allow Flint to give to his younger sisters.

Flint looked up to Cecil like a father, as the man invited him to his home and began to teach him the art of inventing. Flint began to create toys of his own, which he would send to his sisters. Cecil recognized his ability for mechanics and engineering and guided him to create better inventions.

Just as it seemed that everything was looking up for Flint, Cecil was forced to sell the shop when he realized that his shop wasn't making enough money to support itself. Still, Flint would visit his employer and talk to him. He told him about how he lived in the Pits, how he had to work after his father disappeared from their lives, and reluctantly how he killed a neko in self-defense.

Cecil, at first startled and shock, regarded him with sympathy and helped him find another job where he could be able to support his family. Unfortunately, although he does find a job for him, it wasn't enough to support his family. As the danger of losing the home was coming close and even if he were to work overtime, he wouldn't be able to get enough money in time; he suddenly was given the chance of being able to raise enough money to not only to be able to financially support his family, but to buy Cecil's shop back as well. However, he would have to go into the dangerous land of Felarya in order get this reward. Reluctant at first, he almost immediately declined the opportunity until he realized that his family would have to go back into living in the Pits. After a lot of hesitation, he takes up the offer, and thus, begins his journey.

Personality

Like most Negavians, he is cynical and mistrusting. He is a misanthrope who carries an animosity towards the wealthy and privileged who have been raised in luxury while his family had to struggle daily to just get by. He can be abrasively sarcastic at times, as he has little tolerance for those who complain for trivial matters. He also is impatient with people who seem to always have cheery dispositions, as his views of the world greatly conflict with theirs. Also, the dangers of living in the Pits had left him quite jumpy and alert, especially after the incident as a child.

However, to those he is close with, he is actually very caring and selfless. He turns into a completely different person when around his mother and little sisters. Because of Cecil's kindness, he treats him with respect and sees him as a father figure after the disappearance of his own father.

He is sometimes haunted by his murder of the neko, having suffered several nightmares and night terrors, as well as several nights without sleep. After a nervous breakdown he not too long after the incident, he became a bit paranoid, which he hides well enough through his personality.

He has a fondness for toy-making and other inventions whenever he has free time, which lightens his mood significantly and reminds him of the gifts he gave his younger sisters.

Abilities

Due to his childhood incident, Flint is capable of wielding small sharp objects that can be thrown with excellent accuracy; mainly throwing knives he kept as a child living in the slums.

He has slightly higher-than-average hearing and sight than the average human due to constantly watching for danger of criminals who wanted to steal whatever he had when he was a courier. This has also made him quite fast and fit. As being forced to street fight in few occasions, he fights dirty whenever it looks as though he can not win fairly.

Weakness

Flint is not a good fighter, as he has never learned disciplined fighting and martial arts like the others in his group. His street-fighting doesn't help him much given the environment he is in, and the fact that although he has excellent knife-throwing skills, he has a slight aversion to using them due to the incident with the drunk neko, which still haunts him.

I'm glad to see you're still with us Bonzaigirl. I had wondered what had happened to you.

With this bio you have once again shown that your excellent ability for characterisation.
There's not much to point out about his appearance, apart from the fact that you have stated he has scars in his history, yet describe them as scratches in 'Other Characteristics.'

Something else that stuck me as odd was him moving from the pit straight to the middle tier. That would be a bit odd. I'd think that he would face quite a bit of prejudice as the middle tier people probably regard themselves as respectable wheras Flint came from not the lower tier, which has its good parts but the Pit which is as low as one can go.

Another thing is that you say "despite his nature" and then you go on to state qualities that are normally part of someone's character. It could just be the wording but unless you meant that he is caring and selfless only to his mother and little sisters then I find these conflicting traits to be odd. I'm also not so sure about the part where you state that most Negavians are mistrusting. But that's not really that relevant to the character.

His other traits are good though, they are traits that I'd expect someone with his background to have. Once again you've given him some combat abilities without making him a master all round, Empowered but not overpowered.

The one issue I have is with the neko. It's awkwardly worded. It says that he killed a gang member, but when I first read it, I thought that Flint was the one who died.

Species: Rock Harpy

Age: Appears 18

Height: 82 feet (24.9 meters)

Wing span: 164 feet

Hair: Light brown, very short

Eyes: Light blue

Skin Color: Tanned

Other characteristics: Has frizzy bangs, the complexion of her skin and her feathers are very close in shade. She also has a silver band around her left leg.

History

Esna is Althea’s best friend. She lives on Mount Litocoro in close proximity to Torin City. She is a bit smaller than the average Rock Harpy, even for her age, but she merely believes she is a late bloomer. Having been around Althea and listening to her discoveries of other species, she also has developed an extensive knowledge of other species. Also, she is capable of reading but can’t write (for obvious reasons).

Personality

A kind and gentle soul, albeit very quiet, Esna is an exceptionally friendly harpy. More often than not, she talks more to herself than to others, as she has a tendency to daydream a lot and at inopportune times. On few occasions, she has crashed into rock walls and other harpies while in flight. As a daydreamer, she tends to ponder why some things are the way they are, in a not-quite philosophic way such as how the blind can say they see things or what life would have been like if she were of a different species.
However, despite having her head in the clouds, she has more reason than her best friend, the human Althea. She carries enough foresight to sometimes correct her friend and advise her.
Althea taught Esna how to read while they were both younger, which lead to her interests in literature. Although too large to read books herself, she listens to Althea to read to her, whether it be a storybook or a encyclopedia.

Hunting Habits

Having been around humans for all her life, she regards them as people rather than snacks, and therefore would never consider them as food. She mainly feeds upon the fruits and wildlife that resides on the mountain.

Nice to see you back. There isn't much to comment about as it's a minor character. Her personality make sense considering her backstory and the "head in the clouds" is actually kind of a clever, if obscure, joke about her species.

Species: Giant Dridder

Gender: Female

Age: 88 years (biologically 23)

Height: 110 feet (33.5 meters)

Hair: Black and long

Eyes: Green

Exoskeleton color: Purple (with a few dark green diamond shaped spots)

Skin color: Pale

Other characteristics: Golden bangles on left arm while one silver one on the other. When she is trading, she wears a green midriff.

History

Jil is the youngest of the three dridder sisters. As the baby of the family, she was often bullied by her older sisters Magda and Charlotte. In return, she had the tendency to steal from her older siblings and giving them to those who were willing to give her something in return of equal value. After becoming independent enough to take care of herself, she separated from her sisters and set up a sort of a trade in a small canal junction in Bulvon Wood. At some point in time, she reconciled with Magda but still holds a grudge against Charlotte.

Personality

Jil is greedy, especially regarding property and deals. While she doesn't go out of her way to get one's prized possession, she does offer her own prized possessions to obtain something that she believes may benefit her more, only to give it up to someone willing to take it at a better value. Materialistic at a fault, Jil tends to hoard items that she sees of a great value and trades them for something of equal value.

Despite appearing very charismatic when she is trying to trade, she is actually very quiet and keeps to herself because she is actually lonely. She does have many acquaintances but no one to truly call a friend, which is why she tries to find comfort in the items she obtains. The closest to a friend she has is a trapdoor dridder that is one of her regulars who mainly talks about herself and can't recall her name most of the time.

Abilities
As a dridder, she has lethal venom and very strong silk she uses to make webs. Most of the time, she relies on the webs to keep out ones who try to enter her lair. She has several traps that surround her items in order to stop possible thieves in their tracks immediately.

Some of the items she always keeps with her are poison-tipped daggers that she uses against those of equal size.

Hunting Habits
Jil has traps ranging from hidden holes to her webs to capture nearby prey. However, most of the food she acquires is through trade. Her diet usually consists of large animals and fruit.

She rarely eats humans or nekoes, mainly due to the fact she sees them as customers as much as the next species. However, when she is low on food, she will not hesitate to make a quick snack out of them and thinks nothing of it afterwards.
