This is the first idea I'm submitting. Please, don't be harsh
No, better: be fair.
I'll just copy past the whole thing from my most recent story, because I just happen to be a lazy person
The object: The tale of the Zlo-Kaiksa is distinctly unusual. The object consists in a small box, nothing out of the ordinary, with a few indecipherable engravings on each side. No-one knows what wood it is made of; some have dared suggest it was carved from the wood of the tallest and most powerful dryad ever to have lived, in an era long since passed. The age of the box is likewise unknown. A book, found quite by chance in the ruins of Ur-Sagol, says this of it: "The Zlo-Kaiksa, in all likelihood, was made during the Sagolian era, when the city was reputed for its powerful wizards, able to design such objects. Other than that, little is known of the Zlo-Kaiksa." Yet other studies tend to suggest that the Zlo-Kaiksa predates by far the Sagolian era, that it was there before the city. Various hypotheses may be found regarding its origins. The more common among them are as follows:
-The Zlo-Kaiksa is an object created by the guardians.
-The Zlo-Kaiksa is said to contain the very heart of Felarya, and thus to constitute the essence of the world itself.
-The Zlo-Kaiksa is a passageway leading to the Source, the wherefore of Felarya, the answer to all questions.
-The engravings around the Zlo-Kaiksa are said to be a formula of powerful magic, the effects of which remain unknown to this day. The meaning of this formula is rumoured to be held within the Zlo-Kaiksa.
-The Zlo-Kaiksa is the world's biggest hoax, as it contains nothing more than another box, which in turn contains a box, which in turn contains a box, and so on ad infinitam.
Of course, every one of these hypotheses appears far-fetched. No-one truly known what the Zlo-Kaiksa is. Any time someone has attempted to open it, all those in its vicinity disappeared, instantly. They left no trace behind. As though they had never existed.
Today, the box is forgotten by all… Lost, perhaps even hidden – who knows?
It's location: From the corner of her eye, Shaan noticed a most particular house. It seemed in good repair, in contrast with the rest of the city. It fronted an eye, its mauve iris staring her, strangely, right in the eyes. Unafraid, she found herself intrigued by this house. As far as she could recall, she had never visited it. She slithered in without hurry.
The inside was rather pretty. Drapes lay scattered here and there. There were carpets on the floor, still in good state. Yes, there were indeed several things here she could take home, with Canni. Enough to improve their slightly dull décor. She began to pile up cloths and carpets in her arms. All displayed beautiful colours, and were soft to the touch. She looked round, hoping to find more, different to those she had already gathered. Her gaze was drawn to an opening in the far wall. A doorframe without a door. Perhaps there would be other interesting objects beyond? Barely pausing to think, she made her way into the back room. It was darker here, but the sun's rays did get in through holes in the ceiling. Several empty jars lined shelves along the walls. Shaan felt disappointed; there was nothing of interest in here. She cast one final glance round the room, and noticed a small column, with a box sitting atop it. It was a small box, by no means out of the ordinary. And yet she felt suddenly attracted to it, unremarkable though it was. She moved over to it, depositing her initial finds on the ground.
A small latch prevented her from opening it right away. She lifted it, and pulled to the right. At first, the latch would not move, stuck with rust accumulated over the years. She pulled harder, and it gave way. Curious to find what might lie in this box which had stood the test of time, Shaan lifted the lid.
(
Mentionned characters belongs to Frenchsnack. Don't put too much care into the persos. What is important here, is the Zlo-Kaiksa.)
What happens when you open the Zlo-Kaiksa: You are absorbed into the box and it closes behind you. When inside, only you spirit is alive, and the Zlo-kaiksa will try by any mean to kill your spirit. If it kills your spirit, it kills you, and your body remains into the Zlo-Kaiksa, sealed for ever, becoming a little part of it. But the zlo-kaiksa may take its time to destroy your spirit, as it is particularly sadistic. It'll take pleasure watching you trying to survive in her own demoniac world. Worst: it even can read through your mind what you fear the most, and make you face it.
When killed, your body will be food to the zlo-kaiksa, as it will feed on it over a few decades, allowing it to stay alive.
How to get out: Two ways out. 1-Someone fearless opens the box, freeing you of it (which is pretty much VERY RARE). 2- Deal with the Zlo-Kaiksa by giving it someone else in place of you.
