Enemies in the Midst

"Speaking of that," Kira started as she allowed the fairy to hug her. She didn't want to hug back for fear that she'd do more harm with her strength and all wanting to punch her for being an idiot and all. "I won't be able to use my magic until I dry off, too. Which makes me, like, forty percent more useless."

"Which is why I didn't want to get wet in the first place, you stupid idiot," she continued in her head, rolling her eyes while they were behind Leila's head.

Elliot and Damien smiled as she hugged them both, Elliot rounding everyone up. "Alright we should get going, 15 minutes before we leave, take a water break or something." Elliot said as he sat down on the blanket they laid down for Leila, chugging a flask of water as he sighed. "So thirsty, all this walking, got me tired out making that net too."

Samantha giggled as she looked to Joseph and Rurei, shifting down and cross her arms over the shore, laying down on her arms. "It is how I get people across, easier than being above water and showing where I am, although I will have to do that for you guys because there is to many of you." She said giggling softly, winking to them. "But I wouldn't mind throwing you two in my mouth while I take the others on my back, if you guys trust me enough that is."

"If Rurei trusts you then I do as well, so that is her judgement." Joseph chuckled softly as eh looked to Samantha in return, glancing to Rurei.

"Yes Leila thought I was rather delicious as well." Damien said smirking softly as he spoke to Rurei, shaking his head. "She almost ate me, I was actually a bit frightened to be honest."

"Of course I trust you Samantha! So me and Joseph will travel in your mouth then" Rurei answered confidently. "Oh She did sir?" Her voice sounded a bit jealous. "Well I think leila's mouth is the safest you can be in hahaha if you want my personal opinion. Though I have known her longer. She is the reason I do not fear preds a great deal, and try to see things from thier point of view."

"Well try to remember they have no right to eat you. It is like any other fight to me really, if I loose that is my method of death. I will not sit there and beg for my life like they control whether I live or die, I control that." Damien said seriously as he looked to Samantha, bowing to her lightly. "No offense to you of course, if you work for your food then you may well deserve it, whether I approve or not. I do not mind honestly, I just do not like it when people say 'well that's just the way it is' like there is nothing they can do."

"I understand, don't worry about it redhead." Samantha giggled as she turned her attention back to Joseph and Rurei. "Yea you and Joseph can travel in my mouth when we cross, I wouldn't dare do anything, I like you guys, and your friends could sever my spine, I may be bigger than them but a good stab the spinal cord would down anyone, even me."

"Well great we have two people incapable of using magic. Well we will make sure to keep you two safe, I Damien and I will protect you two while the mermaid protects Rurei and Joseph, at least while we are crossing. Kira would you prefer Damien or I to protect you?" He asked her curiously, planning on assigning them to protect her, it was easier to be responsible for one person than have he and Damien protect them both, and end up saving the same person while one gets thrown to the sharks, so to speak.

"We all have our right to try and survive Damien be them eating us, or us escaping them. I try my best to pass no judgement. I don't want things to stay the way they are now. There is no respect between prey and pred hardly. I always hoped one day we can get to a point that children won't be cut down in thier prime or before life begins, also in a way predators are denied thier chance to hunt." Rurei recited her philosophy. "Then again there are those who kill even when not hungry." Rurei turned her attention back to her friend the Mermaid. "There doesn't have to be any assurance of trust between us Smantha, you said we were friends and I want to be friends. You have my trust safety measures regardless."

"I can take care of myself," Kira said, "Just like I said, forty percent less effectively. I don't need protection."

Really, she was rather insulted by Elliot's insinuation that she did. Had he forgotten about her cool weapon and her big physical strength? Now that she was wet anyway, she might as well just swim across the river! Okay, maybe that's stupid, and pushing it, but still! What a cantankerous asshole!

Leila raised an eyebrow. "I said my wings were wet, not destroyed silly. I can still use magic, I just can't fly. I am glad that I can trust you two to help if something did happen to my wings." She inwardly shook her head at Kira. The Neko was nice, and she certainly enjoyed hanging out with Kira, but sometimes the Neko was a bit to harsh towards those who wanted to help her. She smiled to herself a little.

"Well being unable to fly limits your ability is all, you cannot evade as easily. It has to be hard to not have that freedom." Elliot said frowning softly as he looked into her eyes, shaking his head. "Well lets get moving then."

Damien nodded as he looked to Leila, giving her a small, genuine smile for once instead of one with a hidden meaning. "Lets get going, we are close you know, by tomorrow afternoon we should be there, and that is even with camping tonight." He said softly, quite anxious to finally be done with this and go home, he was very tired of all the walking, though Elliot seemed to be having the time of his life. Really Damien was only having what fun he was because he enjoyed Leila and Kira's company, thought Kira may not enjoy his, he liked her, she was very....unique.

"Oh well cut short, I guess you two have to hop in." Samantha giggled as she looked to Joseph and Rurei, opening her mouth with another giggle, positioning herself so the others could climb onto her back and shoulders.

Rurei nodded to samantha. "See you on the other side Leila and Kira!" The former Tiny called as walked into the cavernous mouth. Finding a comfortable spot she took a seat on Samantha's tongue. "Ready when you are Samantha. Come on Joseph don't scared, or you'll taste like chicken and we will definitely get eaten."

Joseph nodded nervously as he walked into Samantha's mouth, smiling to Rurei softly as he sat beside her, taking a deep breath and relaxing as he smiled to her kindly. "This should be fun, your fine, so I am too." Joseph said smiling to her softly.

Samantha closed her mouth once they were both inside as she moaned quietly, both of them tasting amazing to her palate as she waited for everyone else to climb onto her back, resisting the urge to swallow them both, she was hungry, but she had self control, she wasn't a slave to her bodies desires.

Leila shrugged. "Yeah, it does limit my movement a lot...I'm not used to not being able to fly whenever I want. It's kind of strange...no offence to anyone without wings of course." She climbed onto the mermaid's back. "I thank you again for doing this, especially after what I did to you. I really am sorry for that."

"Oh did you hear that Joseph?" Rurei said nudging him refering to the quiet moan. "I think Samantha really likes us! Hahaha." She slipped off one her gloves so her skin would have a more direct contact with samantha's tongue. "There ya go friend, now you can enjoy the taste a bit better."

"First time in a mouth joseph?" Rurei asked. "I know people aren't usually as lucky as me to be able to go in mouths so much and come out alive."

Elliot and Damien and his men climbed upon the mermaids back as well, waiting for Kira as they settled on, ready to cross safety, at least they hoped, since they had a mermaid to escort them.

Samantha nodded lightly when she heard Leila thank her, smiling carefully as she waited for the okay. Enjoying the two people in her mouth very much, not moving them around, she wanted them to be comfortable, not a human jawbreaker that she moved around everywhere.

"No never, that is why I am still here actually." Joseph laughed softly as he smiled to Rurei softly, looking around the mermaids mouth curiously. "Do you like being inside mouths? You seem to enjoy it."

"Maybe I should swim across," Kira thought for a moment, but quickly pushed the idea out of head, giving a groan of slight disgust and a shake of her head. She looked around a few times, looking over her soaking wet outfit and making sure she had everything she needed. It took a few moments for her to conclude that she had everything she brought with her, and followed the others' suit, climbing onto the mermaid's also wet as all hell back. Ugh. She also made a conscious effort not to make her claws come out of her gloves and scratch the mermaid's back as she climbed up. She aimed to get on top of the mermaid's head, so she could be as far away from the water as possible.

Elliot saw everyone was aboard as he gave the okay to Samantha, the mermaid beginning to move across the river as she tried hard not to swallow the pair in her mouth, keeping a sharp lookout for anything that might harm her passengers.

"Hmm I think enjoy is the wrong term." Rurei says laying back comfortable. "I think its more apporiate to say I'm comfortable in certain mouths. It's because this mouth belongs to a friend, that I'm comfortable. Just because I'm comfortable doesn't mean I want to be in one all the time either. What I really enjoy is making friends happy to be honest. Samantha likes my taste, that makes her happy, and her being happy make me happy."

Leila saw Kira climbed onto the mermaid's head and decided to join her friend. Walking as carefully as she could, she reached Kira with little difficulty. "Hey, you ok?I can't tell you how sorry I am for getting you all wet."

"You should be sorry, you massive dolt," Kira replied, mercilessly berating her friend with a cold, somewhat angry tone in her voice. But then her frown turned into a smile as she stared ahead of the mermaid. "But because you are, and because I'm feeling generous, I guess I can forgive you. But you have to promise me you won't have any more regrets; you need to learn from your mistakes and move forward, okay?"

Kira turned her head to look at Leila, giving her a smile that said 'listen to me because I'm a total genius'.

Leila flinched a bit at Kira's tone, but cheered up when the Neko forgave her. "Don't worry, I'll do my best to listen to you.." she sat down and looked into her bag. Most of her things were dry even though she had been submerged. "Hey Kira, take this." She handed Kira a towl that was the perefct size for a neera. "You can use it to dry yourself off and maybe warm up." She unshrunk the item, making it more suitable for someone who was Kira's size.

"Well then your a much better person than post people." Joseph said kindly to Rurei, patting her shoulder and smiling to her as they rode in the mermaids mouth, humming lightly, he loved to hum, it was a quirk of his.

Elliot and Damien climbed up to the mermaids head with the two girls, mostly so they could get a better view of what was ahead. Damien sat down and looked to Leila shaking his head. "You really know how to get her mad, but Elliot does to, so I guess it must not be that hard." Damien smirked, giving Kira a sly glace to let her know he was picking on her again. "Elliot must have taken away her toy mouse or something."

"Now that's not nice." Elliot said holding in a small laugh. "Sorry about him Kira, he is........inconsiderate, I believe that would be the appropriate word." Elliot said as he sat down beside Leila, taking out a map he had as he thought for a moment. "We could use more supplies, hopefully we can make it to this village here before nightfall, what do you think? Plausible?"

Leila sighed and shook her head at Damien, also with a small smirk on her face. She then shrugged at Elliot. "I don't know, it depends on how far away we are from it...Though...there is a way that might guarantee that we would make it...but it's kind of different." She took a deep breath. "I could shrink everyone down, then grow myself and my stuff to my biggest size. I might be able to carry you all inside my bag...I wouldn't suggest it for long journies, but for reaching a place before dark would be fine. I'm just not sure how people would like it. I know Kira doesn't enjoy being shrunk...though I could always just carry her."

Kira turned to look at Damien through the corner of her eye as she dried her head with the towel Leila gave her. "You better watch yourself, too," she threatened him, only half-serious. "Just because being wet makes me zap myself doesn't mean I won't hesitate to light your ass up."

She had to admit, a little tough-person repartee was fun. She liked Damien a lot more than Elliot. What a bitch that guy was. At least Damien wasn't an ass about being an ass - he was up front about it. Elliot...he was just suspicious. She hadn't forgotten about that guy who disappeared, not a bit. Plus that powerful magic or whatever it was Elliot used - it was all just hinky. Wait. 'Hinky'? Really, Kira? It's dumbshit messed the fuck up! Yeah, that's better.

"I don't care as long as I get some sleep tonight," Kira interjected as the two up front were making their plans. And she meant it, no way was she going a second night without sleep. She shot a quick glare at Leila - the one responsible for her loss of sleep in the first place.

"Uh huh... I ....try..." Rurei was pretty tired, with all the stress and not much sleep. Joseph's humming didn't help either it comforted too much her eyes soon shutting. She snuggled into the tongue and started to snore lightly, smiling in her sleep.
