| There could be "Remoramaids" Mermaids who hitch a ride from the much larger Leviathans or even some kind of predator like a Cookiecutter shark that feeds off them. (For those not in the know, Cookiecutter sharks live in deep water and swim a loooooong way vertically to snatch bites out of larger fish, whales and nuclear subs!) | |

That sounds interesting. As long as the females do NOT look like Davy Jones.

| I like the idea of small mermaids riding the bow wave of human ships myself! | |

| Why not just a plain ol' Kraken?
Not everything needs to be half-human, afterall. Besides, not like there is any real size difference between a Felaryan Kraken and a Real-World one (Unless Karbo decided to pull a fast one and make the Felaryan one surprisingly small).

As long as the females do NOT look like Davy Jones. Never insult Davey Jones in my presence... or Barbossa for that matter.

It's on Felarya? It's one of the bigger predators? It gotta be anthro. And female

| If something has got to be a mixed form, maybe change it so not everything is human-topped? Variety is needed, after all. Make it half Snake, and half Manbearpig, for instance. | |

| Had an idea about mermaids the other day.
What if the ocean-going specimens were like some types of sharks and travelled to shallow lagoons to have their young and even left them there while they went hunting in deeper water? (Ok, I know sharks don't care for their young that way but bare with me.)
What trouble could a litter of young mer-folk get themselves into? How about travelling upstream and teasing "Auntie Anko?"

| Zoekin: that sounds kind of interesting... it makes sense, at least, and would be a nice way to bring the sea creatures into the larger story-universe of Felarya. ^^
Out of curiosity, how should I go about getting the information for the Leviathan mermaid onto the wiki? There's an entry for it under mermaids, but it's mostly blank right now.

| Another idea I had was for a type of "Bull Shark" mermaid. Meaning a medium sized mermaid able to move between salt and fresh water. They could be the marine equivalent of the Chilotaurs-knowing everybody and spreading news to all reaches of the underwater environment. Or they could just be a bunch of raiding pests! Move in-eat everything-and move on again! | |

| I added the leviathans ^_^ And you were right about their size, I reversed to the original. they are supposed to be very rare and legendary, so they need to be quite a sight after all Zoekin : This is a nice idea | |

| Zoekin: they could even be both... taken individually, talking to one would be a great way to find out what's going on underwater. In groups, though, they're aggressive while on the hunt and are much more dangerous. | |

| Glad you like the idea of them. I thought that prehapes they might taste bad to discourage predators from eating them. They could even be brightly coloured to warn predators of this fact. He he! Maybe there should be "blowfish" mermaids! When threatened by a predator they expand in size many times to prevent themselves from being swallowed! Prehaps even have spines that lie flat along their tails until the mermaids inflate themselves when the spines stick out. | |

I just have this vision of Anko swallowing a couple of them and then spending all day floating on her back because they inflated in her belly and she's too full of air to dive. She would NOT be happy!
