Faze – Phasing Pulsating Waves

An underpopulated research city recently built near fallen Ur-Sagal. The outside is protected by a pulse wave system that sends out a visible signal creating an intangible barrier affecting both above and below land. The flow of the pulse waves travel in a spiral similar to whirlpool each string built for different effects, such as energy disruption, paralysis, static etcetera. As information on enemies or predators arrive these strings are adjusted to their weaknesses to improve defense. The flows also moves in ripple effect. Strings following the whirlpool are invisible while those simulating ripples are visible. Although the amount between the two is the same they are concentrated differently and as a result rings of light are produced. For strategic purposes the flow of both can be reversed. By compressing the waves a stronger more visible barrier is formed, similar to Negav. That flow visibly spirals outwards when stopped. The city is surrounded by a large ring forming perfect circle with symbols around it. From above it mirrors the great dimensional gate. Found in the center of the city is a crystal firmly embedded into the ground. Its used to power defenses and run the city. The crystal also grows through adding energy into it increasing the barrier and allowing the city to expand. To replace the crystal several machines encircle the city acting as backup. The locations are marked by cylinder devices above ground, however a second set of generators exist directly underneath. Hidden in within those sets is a sphere spinning rapidly. As the orb spins it produces an electrical current. Although the orbs act as a backup they also support the crystal constantly, doing so allows both sources to reduce effort.

Additionally, the city relies on more than a pulse wave defense. Its named and known for dimensional distortion or the phase transfer system. Registry of citizens and their data is recorded. After
approaching the worst case scenario a sound ripple will occur then a scan will pass locating all civilians within an area including alive, injured, captive or dead and distort their physical form. Following that the city then decompiles itself and all intangible forms then transfer to a preset designation then reconstruction itself and all inhabitants as according to data. If unable to find suitable space city will undergo phase layering, by matching objects physical shape in attempt to materialize.

Individuals of the area are both foreign and native to Felarya. Most residents have a strong will believing in the protection and advance of society. The city focuses information trade. Archivers record and store data on predators then give that information to other cities for use. Additional this includes exploration. The guards defending the city also use this method. Though its for defensive purposes the truth is that guards and archivers the same position. There is a strange feeling of peace that flows with the city as a result exists a strive to maintain it. Strangely the city's communication with others is unstable.

Sounds like star trek on steroids. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind technobabble. You should hear me talk about matter repulstion systems and exotic matter. Just don't make it too uber.

You described their defenses in significant detail, but you haven't talked much about the people yet. I'm interested to see what you will come up with. Why did they build this high tech city near Ur sagol? What do they hope to accomplish? What do they do for a living? Do they interact much with the natives? How does that 'reset button' affect their culture and mindset, knowing that the city can revive them should they get killed or eaten?
