| That thing reminds me, there are no seasons in Felarya, right? I've only seen a reference to spring in a bio, but just that. The impression I got from the Physics page is that Felarya is in an eternal summer. If that's so, then inland calendars would mostly reflect the crop growth and harvest cycle, which is what would mark the passage of years. | |

I'm not completely sure how variable the weather in Felarya is really. Some regions certainly see, to be locked in a certain climate... but I don't know. Whether or not there's regular weather patterns or "seasons" so to speak, would probably be up to Karo. The weird, pocket-dimension of Felarya does seem to like to mimic a true planet as best as possible at times.

"The weather today is sunny" But yeah Felarya is divided into multiple biomes, it's really hard to determine seasons, especially since the majority of known Felarya is jungle, which is generally a warm climate, so this will need Karbo's say on it... and not corn syrup's

| Do we really need Karbo's say on this? I think The Corn Syrup has made a pretty good arguement on the subject. | |

| Okay, I'll look around the forum and see if I can find the thread.
Edit: Would it be too bad to revive the seasons thread? I think Felarya can actually have seasons, so I wanted to write my input XD Not that I need them for anything, but hey, knowledge is power. (Also, I can't see your flash D=)

| As long as it is relevant and takes into account the discussion so far; sure, I see no problem. As for that Flash, wherever it was hosted doesn't have it anymore and I'm pretty sure I didn't back it up. It wasn't anything too complex anyway. | |

Oh ye of little faith. Ask and ye shall receive. To bear my blessing of knowledge, you need only face the setting sun and recite the arcane scriptures of Tule Azurak after playing a short refrain of your choice on a flute or other wind instrument. As our good friend AJ has done. Ahem. All silliness aside, any specific queiries? Such as what they might be reacting to? And when? Is this the entire village or a typical villager? Their first time seeing it presumably?

| There are a ton of things I need to know. Have you seen the note and the PM I sent you yet? ^^;
Among the things included are how the setting of the village would be described, how they would react collectively and individually to certain things, ie an 'electric guitar', a member returning without a souvenir from their 'quest', etc., all while making sure it's coherent 40 years in the past.

Hmm... Let me answer these in order of what comes to mind. A member returning without a souvenir: This seems unlikely. Or rather, not unlikely but out of the ordinary? In most cases, a young neko on the cusp of manhood (or womanhood) would venture forth into the jungle until they found a predator, placated it, and returned with proof. Or he gets eaten. In order to return empty handed, they would have had to give up, meaning banishment. After all, they are all banished until they bring back the proof of their skill. The other way it could happen is a pred not eating the neko, but not giving anything to him either. That seems almost impossible. Most preds don't care about giving up a lock of hair or a loose scale or a feather or something. 40 years in the past: Hm. Is there a timeline for Felayra yet? There's really no 'present.' So 40 years before what? The events of the tomes? The founding of Negav? I've always imagined the Rosic Tribe as a fairly new thing. They aren't really a huge city or even a large town yet. Although with the success that I've envisioned for the tribe, that kind of expansion is inevitable. An electric guitar and other certain things: Collectively, they would likely see advanced technology as indistinguishable from magic. They would not be adverse to using it, although they certainly can't make such things themselves. Depending on the period in the town's growth, the Rosic Nekos have imported exotic musical instruments and other things. An important thing to note however. The Rosic Neko 'survival economy' relies on preds not eating them because they like the music they make. This of course will organically evolve into a 'economy' of any entertainment that requires their participation. Music, dance, and so forth. They would not like things that record because that lessens the need for themselves. If a predator has a recording why do they need the original source? They need to be the thing that creates the music so that the predator wants them around. As for a description of the setting of the village? Atypical of just about every other village in Felarya. It makes no attempt to hide. The buildings are still primitive but are not camouflaged. There are no walls. The main physical defense of the town is a giant slug girl named Viktoryia. She has been the longest town guardian. The founder of the Rosic Village befriended her and had her promise to protect the village for as long as it stands. She keeps the mindless predators away from the village proper using slime traps as well as her own appetite. Other predators have been 'hired' to be town protectors as well over the years, ensuring that the Rosic Nekos have a safe home to go back to.

| I was really hoping we could discuss this more in private. I have more things I want to talk about and will likely have many more questions. In particular, the part about the pred not eating the neko but not giving them any proof of their talents still leaves some things to be discussed, like the specifics and whatnot, which I'd much rather to discuss in private to avoid spoiling the story for everyone else.
Also, yes there is a timeline for Felarya. It can be found [here]. Basically, I'm talking around 40 years in the past from 'present day', give or take. From what you said, I'm really hoping that the Rosic Neko village has been around for at least 56 years.
When you say there are 'no walls', you mean as in protective walls like the one surrounding Negav, right? Or is it as in, none of the buildings have any walls whatsoever? O.o
Also, for everyone else, I'm still wondering about that Lataran church thing.

| Well as this is a Q and A thread, so anything that isn't SENSITIVE INFORMATION should be out in the open where all these knowledge communists can equally use it. Whatever things might be direct plot points in your story, sure, send me a message or whatever you want.
A time line! That's fantastic! Oh man! Let's see here. The Rosic Neko Village has indeed been around that long. Much longer in fact! Let me just choose a point. 1948 was when it was founded. One hundred and twenty years ago. The founder was a dissident unhappy with the way Negavian politics was heading for nekos. He took an expedition of like minded fellows east and after a hard dangerous journey, founded Rosic Village, befriending Viktoryia along the way.
And of course I mean no city walls, not that there are no walls supporting the roofs of their buildings. That would just be silly. And probably some kind of elven architecture.

| Awesome to hear that! ^.^ And I'm glad I could show that to you! I think with that, the general information is done, so I've sent you a PM.
And just to make sure it isn't forgotten, I'm still wondering about that Lataran church thing. Yes I did check the wiki and it did not say, nor was there anyone credited at the bottom of the page.

| No they don't have any temple in Negav, only some places where they gather secretly. Given the nature of their cult it would be attacked often I think ^^; | |

| We tend to avoid weird crossovers here, just for the sake of promoting originality and creativity. That's one of the non-written rules about Felarya when it comes to stories, drawings and "what-ifs" too, unless it's done for humor/parodic purposes, and still it's better not to go for that.
Also, the Guardians would never let Doreen "Squirrel Girl" Green into Felarya. We are talking about a chick who has beaten many big names among Marvel Comics villains (just mentioning Doctor Doom and Thanos is enough for giving you an idea), so she would never be able to get into Felarya. Think of her as a DBZ-level character, specially with the whole squirrel-related powers she has.

| Somethings been nagging at me about fairies. Of course we all know they can't shrink giants, but anything human sized is easily game... but what about nagas? When including the tail a human sized naga could be as long as a 30ft giant and more sometimes... but only be 6ft tall from head to ground. So.... can a fairy still shrink them? Or... are they too big for their magic to work? | |

To be fair, Mystiniel is a bit of a special case. She was a legendary and feared sorceress among the storm sprites. An absurdly powerful one at that. She isn't a normal example.
