The problem with Numa

Numa wrote her name into the ground.

"Numa. Cute!"

Kyrii one again found herself blushing. She cleared her throat.

"Well Numa, as I said I'm not used to being this much smaller than anyone. So if you really want to. . .you can pet me."

Her eye's wandered to the small figure resting on Numa. Her head tilded and she asked quizically

" Food?"

Numa cuppped Trav in her hands and looked at Kyrii offended.

“Faith, I…I ‘ope not,” Trav stammered, seeing Kyrii looking at him curiously, (and Trav thought somewhat hungrily. He felt the sudden urge to flee and hide, but perched as he was up on Numa’s shoulder, there wasn’t a whole lot of places he could go. Still, he found himself edging toward Numa’s neck, and gripping a few strands of hair (they were more like ropes to Trav), in case he had to do some quick climbing.

"Thank yeh, Numa," Trav said, visibly relieved when she held him protectively. He pulled himself up to look over the edge of her fingers to look at Kyrii below. Trav wanted to resume his search for his friend, but he dare not leave Numa's protection with the hungry giant Neko waiting below.

Numa scowled the Neko. she freed a hand. "He's not for eating. Understand?"

Kyrii still waiting for the little ones reply simply nodded yes.

She kept her gase on Numa. Worried she may be upset.

"You two been together long?"

Suddenly, a portal opened up in front of Kyrii's leg. Masurao Ketsuiki, a Chuunin ninja from Konoha, sprinted out of it and crashed into Kyriii's big toe. "AGHH!" He stumbled backward, and landed hard on his but. "Chikushou." Masurao hised as he let his headband fall to his neck and began to rub his forehead. Only then did he stop dead, and slowly looked up at the giant Neko. "N..Nani?!"

Kyrii looked at Trav, an average looking guy. Then Numa, a huge creature the likes of which Kyrii had never seen. She wanted to know if they were together long or not cause of the fact that she had never heard of a predator sized creature befrending a food sized creature.

“Nay, the truth be that we met naught ten minutes ago,” Trav said, glancing up at Numa’s face. “Yeh pardon me fer sayin’ so, but I be glad I met yeh to in the order I did. But no matter, I be unhurt.”

Numa gave out a happy growl, then motioned towards the river.

"Well no need to worry, I won't hurt you."

Kyrii noticed the motion.

"So you going somewhere? If ya don't mind I could tag along."

Numa nodded enthusiastically. She wrote about the river and Trav's mission.

“Yeh be free to come. The more pairs o’ eyes we ‘ave, the better chance o’ findin’ ‘er,” Trav said.

Kyrii shuddered at the though of a friendly harpy.

"Well I'm a prettty goog hunter and finding people is like hunting. Minus the messy end. If theres anything I can do to help please ask."

She looked around.

"Um. . . Lead the way."

Numa scooped up Trav, mouting him back on her shoulder. She looked at him, as if asking "which way?"
