| Whether Weather Island
Danger: non – very high
Close to the center of the Topazial rift, lies the island of Whether Weather. The island was named Whether Weather due to its very unstable weather patterns, which are even worse than what’s normal in the rift.
The weather doesn’t just change over short periods of time, but instantly, meaning than a person can blink his or her eyes in the middle of a heat wave, just to find him-herself facing a tornado, blizzard, downpour, lightning storm or a sunny day/moonlit night.
The island is made up, of a small edge of sand all around the island and the rest covered in some of the softest and the greenest grass mankind has ever found. Now for some unknown reason, the grass doesn't gets damaged, no matter how rough the weather gets.
------------------------------------------
Chompers
Threat: low - very high
A variation of Duikers, native to whether weather island, which gets to a height of around 2, 6 feet at shoulder height.
Now, the Chompers look very cute when you first lay eyes upon them, spending all day barely moving a single feet, while gnawing at the tough grass with their strong jaws and teeth, which includes a set of large, strong fangs… they are most certainly not.
Chompers will start acting like Raptors the second they smell or see anything living other than each others, attacking in groups, using their fangs to tear through flesh and bone alike.
Just as the grass the Chompers primarily eat, they are very hardy, allowing them to thrive on whether weather island. This hardiness does however not count for their internal organs, but only their fur, skin, bones, hooves and inside of their mouth. Now, even though the skin and fur of the Chompers is far more durable than steel, it's still soft to the touch. You can fold it like any other animal hide, but nothing will happen if you try to tear it with your hands or any hand held tools
Physically, the Chompers are not very strong, so an adult man could probably handle one or two of them by holding them around the neck and choke them.

| That's a nice idea I think, and I love the name Actually this is typically the kind of thing I would see for islands in Topazial sea : little worlds on themselves with rules of their own ^^ | |

| Sounds like the terrain would be ripped up fairly often. I'm guessing the soft grass is extremely hardy or grows back quickly after rough weather strikes? | |

| Shouldn't it be more... impersonal? The first paragraph. | |

no... no it shouldn't. it could, but like this it's like someone is explaining it to someone. | |

no... no it shouldn't. it could, but like this it's like someone is explaining it to someone. It works well for showing the dramatic nature of the place, but you need a separate version that simply tells about it. Second person narrative doesn't quite explain the facts about a place that wiki format does, so for a version intended for wiki use you'd need to show it in a manner that just explains it, not including narrative. | |

| Also, the current name makes me think of "The Phantom Tollbooth" for some reason. | |

| Seems like one danger might simply be having your body temperature change to fast and you go into shock or something. | |

Possibly, If the you weren't adequately prepared. how do you prepare for a heat wave switching to a blizzard faster than you can blink your eyes? and the other way around for that matter... | |

| Ooo! Ooo! I know! You have to burrow! That way the weather doesn't matter! But burrow in a high place, that way rain can't drown you! | |

| the grass on the island can handle tornadoes, blizzards, heatwaves etc. and you think you'll get through it XD
EDIT: sooo... what do you think of the current version karbo? anything you find that needs change or ... just purely removed? | |

| I find that creature a bit puzzling though ^^; They are herbivores turning carnivores ? and they are indestructibles ? | |

| no they are omnivores like human, they have both flat teeth and fangs like human, though their fangs are bigger in comparison. and no, they are not indestructible... merely very hardy.
due to the fact that their main diet is even harder to destroy than themselves, they don't move too much while grassing and simply turns their attention on any meat that comes along.
EDIT: oh yeah, at least one more thing will be coming... maybe more.
If anyone have an idea for a creature or something that can survive on whether weather island, they are more than welcome to suggest it^^ | |

| re-reading the whole things, I think the base idea is here and is indeed interesting. There is lot of things you can imagine based on thoe very quick weather change : possible causes, how the plants adapt, what the island or its surrounding would look like, possible protections, and so ^^
But as it is now I find it lack a bit in term of coherence... I mean the chomper can be a nice idea but it looks a bit out of the blue to me ^^; | |
