Ella's adventure troop.

"You know of the song? How odd. But it is fortunate for me. Now I wont have to do it myself. Go ahead and listen to her song Faran. And it sounds like they are getting ready to eat that big bird. Have as much of that as you want but don't wander too far from me. Got it?"

Faran nodded her head and waited eagerly to hear her song.

Meanwhile, Mort moved a little further away from the rest of the group and sat against a tree, observing everyone else from afar. The naga seemed an unpredictable character. As was Ella. Then again, they were all a little unpredictable in their own ways. His free eye scanned over the group and he listened to their banter for a while, but it was quickly boring him. This was a good opportunity to rest. He hadn't rested for quite a while. Faran was always full of energy and hated going to sleep.

He tried to relax. As uncomfortable as it was, he kept all of his equipment close to him. Thieves are everywhere. After a few minutes he fell deeper into his resting.

Mort was a quite peculiar fellow. He looked human, sounded human and even smelled human but the way he slept and ate was not. His diet was a secret one that he would not tell to anyone. Each "Meal" could sustain him for several days. As for his sleep, he did not sleep. Not fully. Hhe had perfected the art of being aware of your surroundings, even while sleeping. This trait wasn't so uncommon. It was a skill that you naturally develop when you are not safe during slumber. Some people learn how to do it from paranoia. Others learn becuase they would be vulnerable if they didn't.

Mort was used to being both the hunter and the hunted. In his homeworld he is feared and hated by nearly all denizens of the world. But he didn't want to think too much about his past right now. As he was resting, he noticed that a few members of the troop were foolishly running off into the forest after someone. He didn't care. It wasn't his problem and if these people wanted to get themselves killed then so be it.

Michael stumbled out of the bushes "Persephone, what are you doing out in the forest, its dangerous out here you know." Michael grinned "Though i have to admit, i am rather lost my self, the dridders don't give good directions, they just hint at where to go any way, we should be getting back to Ella, lets go." He grabbed her hand and started walking in the opposite direction humming to himself. "Any idea why Ella wants my undying loyalty?"

Damon watched Mortis walk out of the group and narrowed his eyes. this guy was hiding something under his cloak, a sword. Maybe that is what the deity wanted, if that was all then this would be easy, but if it wasn't and he tried to pinch the sword...He had better do some investigation first. "nice meeting you light, but i have other business to attend to." He slithered toward mortis and placed his hand on his dirk, just in case. "Greetings, I was unfortunate enough to run into this little group and through methods best kept to myself, i got stuck here. You seem to be the only one who retains any sanity around here so i was wondering if you might tell me some things, for example, your name, where we are going, if there is any semblance of danger on the trip ahead and if any one in this troupe has enough power to be considered a legitimate threat, and power does not always mean strength." He narrowed his eyes "I was also wondering if you could tell me a little about your self, quid pro quo of course. Nothing seems free in this world or any for that matter."

"You ask far too many questions reptile." Mort opened his eye and stared at him. "I'll answer a few, just to humor you. You may call me Mort and I don't like people who ask too many questions. Thats all you'll be getting from me. So I suggest you slither over there or something so I can rest without being bothered by stupid questions."

"Oh and one more thing. Stay away from the little girl or else I'll cut your tail into pieces and forcefully feed it to you. We clear? Good."

"Wait, stop!" Persephone dug her heels into the ground and pulled back her hand. "The camp is this way. And did you say dridders?"
This guy was lucky he hadn't been caught by something already, and if she had just heard what she thought she heard him saying, they had double the reason to keep an eye out. Had he really encountered dridders and survived? Were their "directions" an attempt to lead him and possibly more of their group into a trap? The outlook was scary and Persephone felt a very strong drive to get back to the camp as soon as possible.

Ella swung her sword at the bird and with one quick burst of flames she roasted the chicken.

"Oh you slip someone one ruffie and suddenly they never trust you again! In all fairness though not my most clever plan!" Ella looked around. She sniffed the air. "Oh no..." she mumbled she then caught sound of something else. "Oh, shit..." she groaned. She looked out over the group.

"Hey! I've got some bad news and some really bad news! The bad new is that dridders will be here in 3 minutes! The really bad news is that my husband willl be here in 1 minute." A loud monstrous roar broke the air.

"EEEEEELLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAA!" the snarl seemed to say. Looking toward the sky you could make out the large out line of some terrible giant beast. It had glowing yellow eyes and glicining fangs.

"Guys, i'd like you all to meet my husband, Mellidus the badger neko."

Smiley looked over his shoulder to see Persephone and Michel. Are they here for me? Hm, not sure why they care but I guess I've strayed away long enough he thought as he walked towards them. "I didn't need an escort you know..." he said. When he heard the word Dridder, he raised an eyebrow. "Hm, I wonder if this Ella is trying to get us all killed" he muttered.

Light's heart felt like it stopped when she heard the monster and she thought about hiding but she was to proud of herself to run and hide so she walked just so she was beside Ella. "Uh... Ella... If I remember from your little story... fairies pulled this prank right? So... I don't think he would take me to kindly now would he?" She said just staring at how big Mellidus was.

"Waaaah~ Morty! The big monsters are gonna get meee!"

Faran squeeled and ran towards Mort, crying her eyes out. She threw herself onto him and latched on. It seems that now she had seen the size of the monsters she had changed her mind about wanting to meet them. Mort looked at the gigantic monstrosity approaching over the treeline. Whats more, dridders would be arriving shortly as well. Mort put his arm around Faran but made no attempt to escape. The monsters were upon the group. Running away was futile at this point. It was much better to stick together.

He stay resting against the tree and patiently waited for the monsters to arrive. Perhaps these monsters could be reasoned with. Not likely, but possible. Faran sobbed into his cloak as they waited for the ineveitable.

Damon grinned widely at his response. "Don't worry about the girl i do not yet intend on killing her. ."
At the sound of the roar Damon snapped around and stared at this enormous creature.
"Damon at this size you are naught but an insignificant speck, i intend on changing that, so you have three seconds, snake or spider."
"Ughh Snake, lets get this over ." He threw his equipment to the ground as His bones began to crackle and pop. They stretched, tearing his skin occasionally when it failed to grow fast enough. when his transformation was finally over he barely managed to top 100 feet.
"Honestly, now i'm just as bigger target, is that all you got?"
"No, just all i'm willing to waste on the likes of you, now get ready, and keep an eye on Mortis."
"Why do you care about him so much."
"Brace yourself, it looks like it could put up quite a fight." Damon scowled, but crouched back, coiling his tail behind him and balling his fists.


Back in the forest Michael spun around. "Wow he's huge! i wish i was that big, maybe he could tell us how, come on." He let go of Persephone's hand and began walking in the general direction of the badger neko when he regained his senses and drew his gun. "I swear if i do that again the next bullet goes between my eyes, which direction is camp Persephone?"

Exilon had changed her intrument and was just about to start playing for Faran when Ella made her announcement, and then her so-called husband roared at them. Exilon thought about the options; running didn't seem like it would be very effective, especially when dridders would be on their way, but staying to fight didn't look that good either. Well, in any case, it would be best if they were protected so they could come up with a plan.

Exilon, changing her instrument into an electric guitar, ran up towards the front of the group facing the enormous beast, and began to rock out an extended guitar solo, using her magic to create a soundwave barrier around the camp that would hopefully keep out any offensive attempts made by the monster or anyone else. Her guitar barrier was a little weaker than a barrier made by a horn, but in turn it could be held up longer.

Smiley walked back to the camp but was blocked off by the sound barrier. "Tch, guess I'll have to wait this one out for a bit..." he muttered. He took a look at the larger male badger neko and waited for something to happen.

"Every one just calm down! " Ella instructed. She walked pass everyone straight up to the beast. -t kept its eyes one her.

"Darlinng it's me. It's your foxy girl!". The beast seemed to calm some. His burning yellow eyes seem to cool.

"Ella. My Ella. " Mellidus kept repeating as he drew closer. He spoke more gently with each word. He began to crouch down trying to keep eye level with the young lady.

"Ella I tried to get I tan like yours but I couldn't." He whispered.

"You know this isn't a tan." She smiled. This was common joke they always made.

That thing... and... her? thought Smiley as he shivered a bit. Can't think of a more unlikely couple... then again, she is nuts so maybe it's not so unlikely. Smiley walked around the barrier and in front of Exilon. "Mind putting down your shield?" he asked while tapping on the barrier.

Exilon sighed. She hated when she jumped the gun and was wrong. She stopped playing her awesome guitar chords, which caused the barrier to cease as well. Hanging her head, she pretended to tune her guitar in embarassment.

"W-wow... H-he is huge..." Light said under her breath. She was hoping that the monster wouldn't see her. O-ok... just hope for the best that thing doesn't have a really big grudge on faries... She took one step back, then another, then another until she stopped herself, she tried to act like she wasn't scared but she was truly terrified of this giant badger neko. Come on... T-the strongest fairy ever never runs away... right? She asked herself.

"You left me here alone, Ella. I got so lonely. I looked for you all over." Mellidus said in a gentle tone. He began to close his large hands around her.

"I had to go! I had to find someway to cure you! I left you a note!" Ella explained.

"I missed you Ella. I am glad you're home now. You don't have to leave ever again!" Mellidus looked up. He saw all the people who were sitting around the camp fire. He saw the fairy and started to react violently.

"Get away from us!" He snarled. "I won't let you trick us again!" said lunging at light.

"Um, it's this way, I just said so... all you alright? You seem to be a little... at war with yourself." Persephone replied to Michael, gesticulating in the direction of the camp. Suddenly she caught sight of a cyclopean beast in that direction and a commotion stirring. Michael released her hand and went running excitedly in its direction. She was quick to follow, but stayed back a short distance for the sake of caution.
As the pair neared the campsite the tension seemed to lower by a degree, Ella halting the impending fight and people starting to talk to one another. Two of them had magicked themselves to an extraordinary stature, presumably in preparation. Persephone then heard Ella and the creature talking. It seemed they had some sort of relationship - in fact, judging by what they were discussing, this creature was probably the lost flame of which Ella had spoken.
The hulk's voice took on an angry tone all of a sudden and he lunged at the fairy. An odd, rather irrelevant thought aburptly occurred to Persephone: she really needed to take some time to get to know all these people's names if they were to continue adventuring together.
[Then an odd thought occurred to me: I just looked over this post and it turns out my character didn't really do anything, I just recapped what everyone else is doing. Well at least you know she was watching... DERP ]

Smiley quickly reacted and sent a repelling force of wind at Light, sending her flying against a tree, bruising her, but at least keeping her at a distance from the angry giant. "You'll thank me later..." Smiley turned to Mellidus with a stern look. "Sir, I understand that you have some sort of aggression against fairykind, but you'll have to spare this one, she hasn't done anything wrong to you personally, so please, calm down" Smiley kept his hand tightened onto his cane in case the brute decided to turn his anger on him.

"I... is it over yet?" Asked a quivering Faran, her face still buried in Mort's cloak.

"If you mean: Are the giant monsters gone, I am afraid not. The one you saw earlier is still here but the dridders have not arrived yet. This big fellow seems to be alright now that Ella has talked to him, though he did lunge at that fairy. It would appear he doesn't like them much. Other than that the snake guy you saw earllier is now giant as well. Perhaps he is a shapeshifter of sorts. But I would assume he is on our side. As for the dridders... well we'll have to wait and see to find out what they are like."

He stayed where he was still sat against the tree, holding Faran. This fight was not his concern. He'd let Ella and her sweetheart talk things out. It seemed to be working... sort of.

Mellidus looked at the sorcer who pushed the fairy out of the way. He roared at him also.

"I won't let them take Ella from me!" He snarled.

"Darling as nice as that is I am afraid that dridders have already kind of done it!" Ella was being dragged away in a web by a group of dridders. They were pulling her up in the trees and taking her back to the nest. Mellidus gave chase with out thought.

So Dridders were giant spider girls? Typical. Though it seems that a battle was about to ensue between the dridders and a rather enraged badger giant, so Mort was content to stay where he was and just watch the fight.

Smiley sighed. "Great... well would anyone else care to join me on helping her?" asked Smiley as he loaded his revolver with bullets. He then spoke an incantation to use the wind to help him jump a great distance towards the nest.

Light shook her head. "Phew! N-next time i'll have to be on my guard m-more heheh..." She laughed nervously but then she saw smiley lunge over to the dridder nest. "Hey Smiley! Wait up!" She dashed towards the nest using her speed to get her there almost instantly. Then she saw the dridders dragging Ella so she flew over to the one that was dragging her and fired a bolt of electricity at it then she flew down hoping that the dridder would drop her so she could catch her... but then she noticed that Mellidus was also giving chase. "Uh oh! Come on fall already or this guy below me will end up grabbing me instead!

"Hahahahaha, never make assumptions Mortis, it could lead to your death, or that of your er companion. Especially when it involves their abilities, to say i'm a shape shifter is both true and a complete lie in the same breath." he chuckled "I think i am just going to wait this one out." He laid down and crossed his arms behind his head.
" You can, but i din't want to, too much potential for souls, give me control over your entire body, or at least partial control."
"And why would i want to do that?"
"Because mermaids are too vulnerable to be a good choice."
"damn you!"
Yeah Yeah, give it up." the deity chuckled as one of Damon's eyes began to glow a bright red and the pupil disappeared. "hello Mortis, i am delighted to make your acquaintance, but must be on my way, i thank you for the energy you emit, it was quite empowering, give my thanks to... well you know. Also i must warn you if you cut up my servants tail i will not take kindly too it and will see to it personally that your soul rots in torment, anyway onward to the fight!" Damons body mutated slightly, the nails thickened and sharpened, the teeth stretched and bone blades curved out of his forearms past his hands. He reached down into Damon's equipment and removed the dirk which was now a bright red. He hid it away in his grip and slithered toward to battle hissing in anticipation and grating the small spines on his sides together. "This is really going to drain me Damon, you can take comfort in the fact that this won't happen again for a great while." He rushed in faster gaining speed and brandishing the extended blades jutting forward from his arms.


Michael was just arriving back at the campsite muttering to himself about how he would put a bullet between his eyes if he ever swapped personalities again. He laid on the ground and looked up at the sky thinking about what had already transpired, perhaps he should leave, it wasn't going well so far, but what did he expect?
