(Note: the song titles I have listed here are the correct ones, sometimes the youtube videos are incorrectly titled.) My favourite composer is Arjen A. Lucassen, a prog metal artist with his own unique style. He doesn't exactly have his own band, what he does is get vocalists from other bands and uses them. He's a musical genius, being able to play eight instruments.
Starting with Star One, a side project by Arjen. Each of these "space metal" songs is based off a different science fiction TV series, movie or book. - Liftoff and Set your controls. Set Your Controls is based off Doctor Who. - High Moon - Outland - Songs of the Ocean - Some Star Trek movie - Eye of Ra - Stargate - Sandrider - Dune - Perfect Survivor - Alien - Intergalactic Space Crusaders - Blake's 7 - Starchild - 2001 A Space Oddessy
Another of Arjen's projects (this time a main one); Ayreon. This is my favourite of his projects, the songs have continuity. That is to say that each album tells a story and they are all related.
The first album; "The Final Experiment" tells the story of the blind minstrel Ayreon in the dark ages (hence the name of the project) who has strange visons of the future; Nuclear war, machines controling man and the end of the human race. These visions have been sent from the tear 2084 by desperate scientists who are about to witness doom of mankind in nuclear fire. Link is to a playlist for the entire album
Next is "Into The Electric Castle" (I'm missing quite a few of the songs for this album.) This tells the story of 7 'heros' from all eras of human history (and future) who find themselves transported to a strange place. They are tasked to escape this place by a mysterious voice. The only way out is to enter one of 2 portals found in the electric castle. Along the way, there are many trials, some heros die.
- 1st song: "Welcome to the New Dimension"
- 7th song "Across the Rainbow Bridge"
- 8th song "Garden of Emotions" (The tone changes midway though as the other heros have their say)
- 10th song "The Castle Hall"
Again; I'm missing quite a few of the songs for this album. It's good nonetheless, I'm sure you can find the rest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIqRsl8Vm-Q - Age of Shadows/We Are Forever - The first Ayreon (and Arjen) song I heard, It captured my attention instantly. it starts of fast paced but then slows down in the middle just to pick up again towards the end. I have listened to this song over 300 times.
- Comatose
- Ride the Comet
- The Truth Is In Here This shows the diversity of music found in Ayreon and Arjen's music in general.
- Unnatural Selection Just a good song; it has a hint of truth about it.
This last song in the album is The Sixth Extinction (there is a Fifth Extinction earlier in the album). It's very long since it's almost 6 different songs. It's full name is: The Sixth Extinction: Echoes on the Wind/Radioactive Grave/2085/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=albjITcm0ig - To the Planet of Red/Spirit Of The Wind/Complete the Circle.. This is my favourite song in the album, it brings together so much from the other songs as well as (I've heard) from other Ayreon albums. (It's divided into 2 parts on youtibe due to it;s large size)

Yes, but did you like any of the music in that post?
Anyway, Epic score is a music production company owned by Gabriel Shadid that concentrates on producing music geared towards trailers. The music they produce is, as you can guess epic. I mean that in that in the sense of "very dramatic, impressive and imposing." (Not the butchered meaning that gets used so much in pop culture not.)
Epic score has quite a few Album series, each containing specific sub type of it's music. These include: Epic Action & Adventure. Pounding percussion Epic textures Distorted Epic Drama Epic Drones & Tension Epic Tools
Personally, I find Epic Action & Adventure., Distored and Epic Drama to have the best listening.
here are some of my favourites
You can also download/listen to a medium quality MP3 of the track "Enraged" from the album Distorted here

De Dway has songs to share. Warning: de following songs might be too metal to some persons. You mind might implode!
First off: Dream Thieves by Sonata Artica
I originally found this band little over a year ago while looking for a video rumored to be related to web comic I read (won't say which one) but I found this instead. De animation is nice and all, but de song stuck to me. Before I knew it, I became a fan.
Secondly: Metal Invasion by Freedom Call
This song I found while looking up de band after listening to another of their song "Warriors". For some strange reason I have come to believe that this song was inspired by de Imperium of Man... or vice versa.
Thirdly: I Want Out by Helloween
This song was made during de 80's when de youths of America began to be rebellious against the elder generations. It is Helloween's most recognizable song and still famous to classic metal heads of this day.
Lastly: Sacred Worlds by Blind Guardian.
This song was originally made for de MMORPG Sacred 2, in which de band members themselves were added as characters as well, Blind Guardian has been around for a long time and yet still play awesome songs.

Blind Guardian and Rhapsody (Of Fire) are the main two I listen to now, but I still mix in video game music ("vanilla" and fan-made remixes, going from Genesis era to modern), some Iron Maiden and Manowar, and - of course - the occasional Queen.
In the meanwhile, enjoy some "By the Gates of Moria":
Those familiar with "Lost in the Twilight Hall" should recognize some of that in this.

*Thunderbolt* STOP! De Dway has remembered another song that needs to be posted.
WARNING: Video might contain a scene of nude metal women, do not play around family members
Could've been last but it ain't... -ly: Metal Crue by Sabaton
More commonly known for songs honoring heroic battles battles or wars throughout history, this song in particular is to honor all metal bands and metal heads alike, mostly bands that inspired these guys (found in lyrics.)

Persons and people of de forum BEHOLD! De Dway is back with de epic awesomasity of de symphonic metal that is epic.... now I feel redundant, ANYWAYS onto de other favorites!
First off: Holy Thunderforce by Rhapsody... of FIAH! (Not actual spelling)
This band in general I found only recently (and by recently, I mean a year some odd ago) and I must say this band is indeed epic. They focus their songs around classical styles whilst focusing on de legends of old. Rhapsody of Fire is definitely a look over... as long as no one tries to "be inspired" by it.
Next off: Ace of Spades by Motorhead
Due to this band being almost as famous as Ozzy, de keyboard of my pc does NOT have de fancy "O" for this band. Anyway, de Lemmy and his bass are pretty much de big details for this song and none can match his skill... well, maybe de Sting but we'll get to them another time.
Thirdly: Bards Song by Blind Guardian
I know this is another post of a band already shown twice this thread, but I just needed to post this song for de hell of it, tis rare (for me anyway) to find a good ole metal song that is this inspirationally epic: three guys, two guitars, one vocalist and one hell of a beautiful song.
Fourth: Eagleheart by Stratovarious
Don't mind how a bit... off de video is, Stratovarius is a big band in Europe that has been around for quite some time, there unique songs help lighten up de spirits of many who listen to them.
#Five: The Brave Never Bleeds by Saint Deamon
An underground band that I truly believe needs to be presented more, de vocalist is just perfect for de metal genre... not unlike some screamers we know.
Well that is all for now fellow friends of de forum, enjoy de songs de Dway has shown... Just don't go putting them into sigs and bios, m'okay?

These to beautiful songs both the Opening and Ending theme for the 80's Anime Space Adventure Cobra are sung by 前野曜子(Maeno Youko) The first song is titled Cobra (i think, I dont know japanese) and the second is secret desire. Enjoy ^.^
(both in the same video)
The opening to the anime Patlabour: Mobile Police
