Whale Creatures

Whale Creatures are like your average Felaryan Mermaid, only different, since they are in the form of different species of whale. They differ from Mermaids, since their upper human half has the same substance skin as the lower half, and same design in color. A Whale Creature's average height can be from 107-120 feet tall depending on the species. A Whale Creature is a very good swimmer, since they are like whales, and are very skillful hunters. Whale Creature species include: The Orca (Killer Whale), Dolphin, Beluga, Humpback Whale, Sperm Whale, Blue Whale, and so on.

Abilities: Whale Creatures can speak, but they can also communicate like their species of whale, such as sonar, clicks, singing, and so on. They have a blow hole on their backs in front of the dorsal fin. The blow hole structure depends on the specie of whale. A few spcies can perform elegant acrobatics. The larger Whale Creatures can dive great depths.

Sizes: The Smaller Whale Creature species such as the Dolphin and Beluga, grow up to 107 feet tall. Orcas, 110. Humpback Whale, Sperm Whale, and other large whales can grow to 115, and Blue Whale Mermaids can grow to 120 feet tall.

Hunting: Whale Creatures use the same method as a whale to hunt, but the method depends on the species of whale.

Social Behavior: A Whale Mermaid's socialbehavior depends on what species it is.

Diet: Of course, the Whale Creature is a carnivore, so it may eat schools of squid, schools of fish, and humans, since this is Felarya.

Natural Enemies: There are really no natural enemies to the Whale Creature like the real whales in the world today.

Description: A Whale Creature has the same color all over her body of the lower half of her tail, but the color depends on the species. The Whale Creature has anus near her fluke (tail), a long genital slit above it, and one mammary slit on either side that hide a samller pair of breasts than the breasts on her chest. (I am basing this off of a female whales anatomy, only a whale has just tits instead of breasts, and a Whale Creature's mammary slits are larger)


Habitat: Any where there is water, since Felarya makes it possible for Whale Creatures to live in both salt water and fresh water.

I came up with the idea while in Alaska when I bought two statues: One of an Orca, and the other of a Humpback Whale. If someone had alreay come up with the idea, it is mere coincidense, and I have this to say: Great minds think alike

That actually isn't a bad idea. Gives a bit more variety to the mermaid family. Although I would like to know more about these illustrious beasts.

I think the blue whale and humpback could stand to be a bit larger, as whales are frickin huge, and a hundred foot whale mermaid is about the size of a normal mermaid. I'm not saying leviathan mermaid-sized, but a bit larger.

If I may make a suggestion, how about penguin harpies for the orca mermaids to hunt?

Penguin harpies would rock. You know they would.

Royal Mermaids have the fish half of a whale. So we technically already have Whale Mermaids.

Why exactly would they have the ability to breathe underwater? Since they're 'taurs of two different mammals, it doesn't make much sense. Even deep-diving sperm whales have to breathe air, so wouldn't it make more sense for them to breach the surface of the water and take in air through a blowhole like a whale?

And some species of whales, which hunt with spirals of bubbles to corral their prey into close quarters, need a blowhole to do so.

Sharkgirls

length: 70-80ft long
Shark mermaid half, two sets of teeth. Normal set of teeth in the front that are most often seen when they're not hunting and then behind those are layers of razor sharp teeth used for ripping and tearing.

Sharkgirls are vicious and voracious predators of Felaryas oceans. They're most known for their feeding frenzy's, they gather in packs of 3-4 members then stalk human ships, people near the water and on rare occasions they are known to feed like real sharks on the more docile mermaids and other water dwellers. Once they start feeding though it's near impossible to stop, they have a one track mind when it comes to feeding.
Another thing to note is they often can even catch harpys mid air, small or large. they wait under the water until they see one passing above, their eyesight is excellent. When the harpy is about to pass over them they swim up at high speeds, lantch themselves out of the water and either swallow the prey whole right then if it's a human sized one or if it's a larger one they latch on and drag it into the water with them where the rest of her pack helps keep it down.

Personality wise they are withdrawn from any other speices beside their own, not out of haterd but if they get hungry then their newfound friend would often just be eaten in a most painful manner. With each other how ever is a whole other story, they're loud, hyperactive and playful, sometimes they get alittle out of hand though and often break out in small qwarls, resulting in scars, unlike with other speices the smell of their own kinds blood doesn't send them into a feeding frenzy as it would with other creatures.

Another odd ability is that they can live in MUCH colder climites then most other mermaids and many are said to live far north in the colder part of the sea, no one knows exactly how but they just decide not to find out and avoid the areas the shark girls are in.

little remarks about the whale mermaids, they are not really "mermaid" because mermaid are half human and half fish or a whale is not a fish it's a whole new race.
And another point if they are based on whale they can't breathe underwater because whale have lung not gills contrary to mermaids they have only lungs but due to they have blowholes on their cetacean part which allow them to stay underwater for long period.
and for the habitat they can go only on area where there is large amout of pace and water for them, and only the dolphin based will be able to go on river or lake.

There is no good reason why they can't be called whale mermaids.
