| Change of habit cannot alter Nature.
Moral from Aesop's Fables (the story of the Raven and the Swan). Fits rather well with certain preds and their... feeding habits.
Another good one from the same source would be: Nature exceeds nurture. (the Cat and Venus) | |

| No-edited proverbs that I think it may fit the most for Felarya theme.
"Hungry bellies have no ears" <- so true in Felarya, lol XD
"No sweet without sweat" <- Somewhat true for... predators
"He laughs best who laughs last" <- I think it's somewhat fit Xd
"Better late than never" <- Same reason as above
"Haste makes waste" <- Same above, argghh....
"Don't trouble trouble until trouble troubles you" <- don't trouble me, plz
"He that knows nothing doubts nothing" <- For people who come to Felarya the first time
"Her eyes are bigger than her belly" <- about someone in Felarya still can eat even she is full?
===
I collected some other and tried to make it Felarya-like. Not sure if they're good or not
"She comes, she sees, she ate all" <- Wonder if people is talking about Crisis reading a neko village or someone else.
"Prey can not be the chooser"
"A meal in need is a meal indeed"
"Once a predator, always a predator"
"So many men, so many meals"
"Finding a Dryad in a forest" <- actually, I think it may be pretty easy Xd
"Catch the Naga before you sell her skin/scale"
"I feed you. Your turn to feed me" <- wonder if some predator try to fatten her prey
*Fine feathers makes fine harpies" <- urggh, not sure
"United we die together, divided we die individually"
"Travelling forms a young prey*
"There is no prey without predator*
"Tree has ears" <- Why?

| Before I try to think of any more, I'd like to know for certain...What's a proverb? ^^;
*EDIT* Now that I know what a proverb is, I have another one:
"Most bridges are built over perils." - take for example the bridge to the Mysterious Temple in Jadong, or rather, Anko's Lake. ;3

| Adapting some proverbs to Felarya... Just two, because I want to think of some proverbs myself... though I need some inspiration. xD
"Between the naga and the fairy." -> To choose between two equally bad alternatives.
"A prey in hand is worth two in the run." -> What you already have is better than chasing something probable you won't ever get. | |

| The road to Negav is paved with many Nagas.
For Predators:
Give someone a Human and it will feed her for a day. Teach her how to hunt and she can eat every day. | |

| For prey:
When in Negav, do as the Negavians do. (Not sure what the plural for the citizens of Negav is)
When in Felarya, do as the Felaryans do.
Judge not a fairy by her current size. (added current do size-changing abilities)
He/She that annoys a naga, will be eaten.
Force open the mouth of a naga and ye shall bring about your own destruction. (or digestion)
A hungry naga is easy to find. (or pred)
Hell hath no fury like a succubi scorned.
Negav wasn't built in a day.
Ur-Sagol didn't fall in a day.
Talk of a naga/fairy/etc..., and she is bound to appear.
The females of the fairies are more deadly than the males.
You are what predators eat.
--------------------------------- For predators:
A neko in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Swallow/Eat in haste, digest in leisure.
Three heads are better than one. (for hydranagas)
A naga cannot live by nekos alone. | |

| For fairies (Especially for Melany): Don't put all your catches in the same cage.
For forest/jungle predators: The trees are always greener in the other forest/jungle.
For Slug Girls: Slow and steady eats the meal.
For avians: If Sphinxes could; if Harpies knew. (Some people lack initiative and brute power; some lack self-restraint and the will to learn)
Expression: This is all Fairy logic to me. | |

And an ass. A fellow ass-man, I see. "Running faster than the other guy guarantees another ten minutes of survival". "That glutton eats like a naga". "Up Jewel River without a paddle". "Survival means having a big gun and knowing how to use it". "Children should be unseen and not eaten". "Strength in numbers is not guaranteed". "Know the pred. Avoid the pred." "Don't look a gift centaur in the mouth". "Speak as if to a genie". "Talking is only good until the stomach rumbles". "Violence begets survival". "Mercy is rarer than ascarlin, and much less valuable". "Peace is the strong walls of Negav". "It is when you feel safe that the hunter is watching". "Paranoia is salvation". "Hope is the first step on the road to digestion". (40K fans get it!) | |

| Some more... "When whispers you hear, you have a reason for fear." -> Specially in the Forest of Whispers - I should finally settle there in the future. "Felarya did it." -> A wizard did it? Too easy. Felaray can do even more when it comes to explaining what isn't logical. "Everyone has their fairy wings." -> Felaryan equivalent to the Achilles' Heel, a.k.a. weak point. | |

| Found this list. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/proverbs.html
------------------------------------- Felaryan quotes and their parallels (origins)
There's always a bigger mermaid. (There's always a bigger fish.)
Bigs preds eat little preds. (Big fish eat little fish.)
Don't count your mantoids/dridders before they are hatched. (Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.)
For want of a jewel a treasure was sought; for want of a treasure an adventure was wrought; for want of adventure the adventurer became lost; and for the adventurer becoming lost the naga was fed. (For want of a nail the shoe was lost; for want of a shoe the horse was lost; and for want of a horse the man was lost.)
It takes two to digest. (It takes two to tango.) | |

| Some quick ones before I have to go to work:
All is fair in love and vore. (I imagine this might be something Vivian would say XD)
Better the predator you know than the one you don't.
Don't take the path less traveled by. (there's a reason it's not been traveled much)
You can lead a centaur to nekos, but you can't stop it from eating them. | |

| I thought these out of the blue (banging head on my wall.) ----------------------------------------------- "Out of the Harpy's talons and into the nest." Out of the frying pan and into the fire
"The only good predator is a full one" The only good fish is an eaten fish
"Beware the mermaid bearing treasure" Beware of Greeks bearing gifts. A.k.a. Trojan horse
"The voice makes the mermaid." The coat makes the man. ---------------------------------------------- I might have more... (continues head wall banging) | |
