Venturing into Felaryan Forests

Alright! My first Felaryan RP I hope you guys have fun with this one. And well... you know the drill:

1. No godmodding!!!
2. Please read over your posts before posting them to catch any obvious spelling/grammer mistakes as it can take away from the story.
3. Story style not script style
4. Please be willing to post somewhat actively.
5. No killing/eating without permission
6. Each person uses up to three characters at a time.

Many of the villagers had spoken of an ancient ruins that was hidden deep within the Felaryan forests. Hundred of adventurers and mercenaries had ventured into these forests to seek out the magical treasures that were within these ruins, none had returned. And so, the eager scientist, Sidonis Langsley along with five well armed companions, they ventured into the forest along with only a map and some vague directions from the local villagers. When the sun had reached noon, they had already gotten themselves deep into the forests.

I have a few questions though:

question 1: With rule 5 how would that work? (like say if you were in a battle would one person say: Can I kill you and the other person saying yes/no XD)

question 2: Is their a story to this roleplay like a plot?

for question 1: well basically yea XD

for question 2: Well I haven't given much thought to the plot, so i'm pretty open-minded about what can happen between the forest and when they get to the ruins XD but let's try not to get off track XD

Aha! Oh yeah a fresh rp! ^^ I've been waiting for this since... yeah we wont go into that. >_> You two mind if I join? I got some pretty decent experience. If yes, is a bio neccessary? I have a char in mind but it might take a little while, (a day or so), to write up a bio.

First time I enter a rp on the forum. I hope I wont be disappointed. FOr those who know me, they know how much I despise rping. But I'm just trying it one more time. To see if it's better here.

Ehm...I don't have a bio and I prefer not losing my time on it. So, I just decided to made the bio just like a description in the continuation. Hope you dont mind

Within the little group that was taking adventure throughout Felarya, there was only one neko. A female, moreover, with hair as blue as the ocean and a pair of eyes too blue; too blue they were almost white, like cold ice.

Her name was Alessia.

Her origins were still obscur, but the glimpse of informations she gave away to make people stop asking her questions implied that she was coming from a region at the extrem west of Felarya, beyond the fairy kingdom, close to the sea. She never wanted to give the name of her village.

Like many of her kind, Alessia wasn't counting on brute force to overcome her enemies. Alessia more counted on her stealth abilities, her agility, her senses and her incredible night vision that her race gifter her. She was everything but muslces. Someone could even qualify her of skinny. As clothes, she was only wearing the essential plus some subtle fashion. One of this fashion was covering her shoulders. It was a harpy skin, with its feathers still on it. She was wearing it proudly, like a trophy. The rest of her clothing consisted in a sword tied on her back, a vest with many pockets and light pants.

She had no backsack, no shoes and no gloves. Nothing covering her head either.

hmm... I wonder if I should wait for Ultimate and Mortis or just post.

(BTW I talked about this before but just in case you don't know this is a major revision of an older character of mine. His personality, looks backstory etc. are all different.)

Mort had been following this group for quite some time now. It wasn't difficult to track them, a blind man could even feel the parts of the vegetation that had been brushed aside and trodden down. It consisted of a scientist looking guy, a neko woman and a few others that he assumed were just hired guns. The group was fairly well armed. They were no professionals that was for sure, but they could probably still pack a punch. They appeared to be heading to the ruins that everybody was talking about lately. He too was headed to the ruins but he had intended to do so alone. However, his time in Felarya had taught him that there was relative safety in numbers. Thats right, should you be attacked by a voracious monster all you have to do is outrun someone else.

He chuckled at his little joke and fiddled with the bandages wrapped around his head. Once fresh, white and pristine, the jungle soon turned them brown with dirt and muck. They covered the top and left side of his head, covering up his hair and left eye. The right eye was a pale grey that at times seemed almost empty of life. He wore a brown cloak that was wrapped tightly around him to prevent it snagging on branches. That didn't do much however, as it was torn and stained with mud, vegetation and other unrecognisable stains. Underneath it he wore plain and average snug fitting clothes, with reinforced leather strapped to his chest, legs, shoulders and forearms. Finally he wore a longsword in a plain black scabbard that hung from his belt, along with a satchel full of various odds and ends.

Mort decided that joining the small group eventually was probably the safest move. As long as they didn't get in his way that is. But for now he would continue to follow them and observe.

Professor Langsley took a look at his companions and chuckled. He had hired the mercenaries and promised them the treasures that awaited within the ruins as long as they protected him while he led the way. The magical trinkets within the ruins were nice, but trivial to him. He only sought after the hidden hieroglyphics and stone tablets that contain a vast amount of Felaryan history. Yet, his grand prize was the round tablet that held codes, which when deciphered, could give him all the knowledge regarding the strengths and weaknesses of some of the Felaryan predators. This knowledge would surely give a promising edge to Central's Military. He grinned at such a thought, but whatever happens on Felarya was none of his concern, what he wanted was knowledge. He turned to look at the neko with a bit of curiosity, he was not sure what her intention was, nor did he remember hiring her. But it doesn't matter, as long as none of them gets in his way of analyzing the ruins, there would be no need for conflict.


Suddenly, yelling was heard behind them. The group stopped and readied themselves for whatever predator that might come. However, it was not a predator, but a young man in a soldier's uniform, who seemed to be exhausted from running. The young man ran up to Sidonis with a annoyed expression

"Professor! *gasping* W-What were you thinking going out here alone?!" the young man asked with such frustration.

Sidonis gave an amused chuckle. "Why Julius, I was never alone, I hired these mercenaries to protect me while I went on a little expedition is all" he explained.

Julius took a few moments to catch his breath and glared at Sidonis. "Why didn't you just bring our soldiers?! Central practically gave you an army for protection!.... and you didn't even invite me" he complained.

Sidonis shook his head in annoyance. "Julius, how many times have I told you? Our soldiers are hardly experienced in this world, plus these mercenaries have fought Felaryan predators longer than they have... and besides you're useless during the day and I can't have you killed now, that's why I left with the mercenaries and without you"

Julius folded his arms. "Well I'm not leaving you out here... I'm taking you back to camp!" he said.

Sidonis merely turned away and continued following the group. "Do as you like, but I'm not turning back until I've reached the ruins"

Shocked and frustrated, Julius reluctantly followed him since Professor Langsley is in charge of his unit.

Edward never paid much attention to the soldier run in but he heard every word of the proffesor.

Stone tablets, how does he know about this. Hmmm this path looks awfully familiar as well... but can it be?
Ed walked up to the proffesor. "So, how did you know about this place?" Ed asked to the proffesor with a worried look on his face but he tried to hide it.

When the group stopped to see the soldier run in Shadow was already ahead of them still walking but listening too. "Tch, hired mercenaries I am only here because of that doctor. He said there was a portal inside that place wherever we are going to which leads back to my world, but now I am hearing about these tablets...hmm... wait maybe those tablets have something to do with it." Shadow continued to walk on quietly talking to himself.

The scene changed back to Edward and he still had that look on his face. "TELL ME AT ONCE! I DEMAND TO KNOW IF THIS PLACE IS THE PLACE I-" he paused from his shouting. He cleared his throat. "Ahem I mean uh is this the place we are heading to?" He then said calmly pointing at the map that they had.

Sidonis smirked at the doctor. "Well let's just say I have a colleague who happens to have extensive knowledge of Felarya... and yes, that is the place we are going to" he stated.

Julius felt somewhat nervous around the group as they ventured deeper into the forest. His left eye was blind and he felt puny with his laser rifle that only has one cartilage of ammunition.

One of the mercs came up to Sidonis with impatience. "How much longer till we get there?"

"Probably by tomorrow morning, so we will need to set a small camp at a safe location" replied the professor.

Trailing them for a while now, Mort overhead the professor say they were planning to set up camp soon. It sounded like now was a good time to show himself. Sleeping alone was a one way ticket through a predators digestive system.

He walked slowly and calmly towards the group and emerged out of the trees.

"Hey people whats up?" He yelled.

Several of the mercenaries instantly snapped around and pointed their weapons at him.

"Whoah! Calm down there eh? I come in peace."

The mercenaries continued to point their guns at him. He sighed and put his hands up.

"Call your pets off will you?" He asked the professor. "If I had intended to attack your insignificant little expedition do you really think I would have revealed myself so calmly? Besides these mercs of yours still have the safety on."

The mercs panicked and quickly checked their weapons and found that the safety was actually OFF.

"Made you looook." Chimed Mort, with a smug face.

The mercs growled in anger at this smartass standing before them and turned to the professor asking for permission to fire.

Professor Langsley turned to look at the man who was irritating his mercenaries. With a amused grin he signaled his men to lower their weapons with reluctance. "I don't believe I invited you to our little expedition" he said with a curious look.

Julius took a glance at the man whom Langsley was talking. There was just something about that man that didn't feel right, he thought. But he couldn't make such conclusions yet, as long as he got the professor in and out of the temple, then there would be no trouble.

"No I don't believe you did. I assume you are heading to the ruins? Of course you are, why else would an intellectual type like yourself be travelling this way?"

Mort approached closer to the professor.

"I too am heading to these ruins. I'm not going to tell you why so don't ask. Mind if I tag along? I'd consider myself pretty handy in a fight. Plus I got a whole lot of strange things in this satchel of mine if your looking to make a purchase."

He noticed that the mercs were trying to hold back their laughter as he mentioned that he was handy in a fight. They looked at the sword hanging from his belt, and then at the sophisticated weaponry they were holding. Some were probably thinking of an insult or two to throw his way, to put him in his place.

Mort didn't pay any attention to them and instead looked at one particular member of the group who stood out. A female neko. The only neko actually. She wore very little compared to the others and didn't seem to be armed. She must be a specialist of some kind. His eye stared directly into hers with almost murderous intent. But then he broke away and clapped his hands together.

"I do believe setting up a camp is in order. Don't you agree prof?"

No one was in a hurry to build up their tents. The small group was taking his time. They were mostly talking rather than working.

Alessia, as for herself, didn't build up a tent. Those silly humans, with their fire and loud voices, would easily attract a predator. She considered they were even lucky that no predators had got sight of them. She was sensing the surroundings for quite a while now, and nothing potentially dangerous was around.

The only thing that got her worried was the arrival of this strange man; Mort, she heard. He seemed harmless but still... He had the look of the man you just cannot trust. He arrived from nowhere, although she had sensed him since the beginning of their journey. It was a matter of time before an inevitable meet. Plus the look they exchanged together... "Something's wrong" she thought.

Almost too naturally, she purposely walked besides him. The words she whispered into his ears were short and threatening:

"You, you better watch your back. Who knows when a blade could pierce your insignificant human flesh. I've got my eyes on you."

And she continued walking, just like if nothing happened. She climbed a tree, her encampment for that night. Sleeping with humans was too dangerous, she judged.

Mort watched as the female neko nimbly climbed a tree where she planned to sleep. She had taken an instant dislike to him it seems. Her threatening words were evidence enough of that. He tilted his head to the side and replayed her words in his mind.

"You, you better watch your back. Who knows when a blade could pierce your insignificant human flesh. I've got my eyes on you."
"Who knows when a blade could pierce your insignificant human flesh."

"Insignificant human flesh."
"Human flesh."
"Human."

A sinister smile spread across his face as he played the word over and over in his head, his pale grey eye staring off into the distance.

(Would anyone like to play the part of a predator? I really can't play the part, so make sure you let me know if you're interested then I could cue you in whenever.)

Professor Langsley simply shrugged and gave a welcoming smile at Mort. "Well as long as you don't get in the way, I think this will work out" he replied as he signaled his men. After a while, he had been watching the group but mainly at the conversation that the neko and the newcomer were having. "Ah... so she noticed it too" he muttered to himself. Langsley got up and went over to Julius. "Care to take a walk with me?" he asked as he turned to walk away from the campsite.

Julius gave a look of confusion, but nevertheless, the professor seems to want a few words with him. He got up and walked over to Langsley while watching the mercs tell some rather exaggerated hunting stories. "Um... is there something on your mind professor?" he asked.

Langsley didn't reply. Instead he examined the scenery and took a couple of deep breaths.

Julius felt a bit uncomfortable at the silence and decided to make conversation again, this time with a more casual tone. "So... what do you think about the people that are with us?" he asked.

Langsley started to chuckle with amusement. "Well for one thing, I get the feeling that our neko friend has some trust issues... ah we're surrounded by such interesting people you know... what we have here..." He turned to point at the people he started to talk about. "... is a nutjob of a doctor, a neko who thinks highly of herself than us humans.... and there is of course, the newcomer... I get the feeling he's not someone you should provoke Julius"

Julius gulped at what Langsley said. "N-Noted.... but what does this expedition have to do with Project Xenophage?"

Langsley gave a threatening glare at Julius. "I told you before, we do not discuss that here... and besides, this has nothing to do with that... well at least not at the moment, when we find these ruins, who knows? I might just find something useful for the project" he said with a grin.

As the group looked like they were settling in Shadow was a bit further away from the camp but not that far as he could see it from a short distance leaning against a tree.
"Hmm... well it is going to be a long night, wait... the group over there looks like they are missing another person. Ah well, anyway I might just walk up to the camp I can't just stay away from this strange bunch." He smiled as he walked towards the camp.

Meanwhile Ed was no where to be seen in the camp.
I can't believe this, how did I end up in a group who are heading to the same place as I intended to. This... might not end well. Ed thought. "Well, I will have to think of something fast, that tablet is suppost to be mine!" He shouted.I can't let that proffesor get his hands on it. For now i'll play along He got up and sneaked back into the camp trying to get in unnoticed.

(I'd like to play the predator role, if you don't mind. If it's nighttime, I think I know just the species to play. That, is, if nobody minds me using one of my own creations. If not I'll think of something else. :3)

(Well I don't mind at all ^^ Go right ahead. By the way, seeing as this attack will take place at night anyway, would you like to cue in your own pred? or do you want to wait for me to set the stage? [prefers that you cue in your own pred to surprise me XD] )
