As Numa scooped the fish she could see a pair of green eye's staring at her from under the water. After the first handful the eye's came closer and a mermaid popped her head out. She seemed displeased. Her aqua colored hair blending into the water surrounding her pale blue skin gave her great camouflage in the water. She looked at Numa fully ready to dodge and escape.

"Hey!.... Your supposed to let the bite sized ones come here!"

After her comment she waited for a reaction.

Numa put the fish down. She then plucked the mermaid out before she could do any damage and popped her back in the water.

After landing back in the water the mermad popped her head out.

"How rude, tossing me away like an old peice of seaweed. I've never been this insulted."

She crossed her arms and staired directly at Numa.

Numa looked down at the angry 'little' Mermaid.

Not knowing any better, Solomon walked up to the edge of the water. "A Mermaid? A GIANT Mermaid?" He looked at the Mermaid in awe of her beauty. "Allow me to introduce myself." He bowed, then stood upright again. "I am Captain Solomon Sharkbane. What is your name, miss?"

Renee moved to stop him but Lily stopped her. She quetly said.

"He'll learn on his own or he'll die. Unless you plan to babysit him his entire life here."

The mermaid looked at the human. The look on her face more anger than hunger.

"Oh......Look someone with manners. I'm Marla.......and your friend here has very much insulted me...How are you people gonna make it up to me?"

Her voice was sweet and soft but rang with a sinister intent.

Numa picked up this intent from listening to Marla. She picked Solomon up, seating him on her head, thus depriving the Mermaid of food.

"And Now your stoping me from meeting new people. Come now I wasn't going to hurt him."

Her head bobbed and weaved playfully as she spoke. Her anger almost completly faded. Then her look turned to sadness and she started pouting.

"You don't trust me......Everybody always run's from me........sure I eat people now and then but I haven't eaten as many as Anko, people talk to her........"

Nua's face turned to confusion.

"Oy! I'm just making a converstaion with a pretty face." He turned back to the mermaid. "My apologies. Now, I must warn you, that if you eat me, you will not enjoy the results. Savvy?"

She turned her back on the group.

"Oh come on now, I was just joking. Are you sure you don't want to hear a story?"

"I can't stop you from talking......"

Her voice giving a hint of intrege.

"If it's good I may even forgive you all."

Solomon cleared his throaght. "I am about to tell you how I got to Felarya. In the Caribbean Sea, near Tortuga, I was being hased by a man known as Davy Jones. Davy Jones is a cruel man who takes the souls of men who owe him favors, and makes the men a part of his crew. Now, I owed Davy Jones a favor, and he was after me since I did not pay his debt. His ship, The Flying Dutchman, suddenly emmerged from the briny depths far behind us. Me and my crew knew that was a bad sign. Moments later, his pet, the Kraken, attacked our ship, and I fell overboard through an opening, and landed in this world."

"Ooh...ooh an ocean story!"

Marla listened with intent. After hearing it she seemed dissapointed.

"But...did your crew make it.....Is the dutchman still out there? Oh man now I'm curious."

you are aware Solomon's dead right? If Numa stood up, she'd be 200ft tall. I leave it to you to work out the rest.

Solomon pondered this. "I have no idea what is happening as we speak."

(I'm gonna assume a vine or something. I should have caught on sooner.)

"Oh.....Well people weren't meant to be at sea anyway....."

Marla swam in a small circle.

"So why do I have so many visitor's today. And don't worry I'm not very hungry."

She mumbled low but loud enough to be heard.

"I was enjoying my fish....."

Jeremy watches intently as Numa scoops up a huge portion of water, sifting through it and picking out a few small fish. His expression changes to one of surprise as she plucks out a giant mermaid, though still small in comparison to Numa herself. After a few rather pissed retorts from the mermaid, he watches as Solomon steps out and starts to tell the story of how he arrived on Felarya. After listening to the entire story, and making sure he wasn't cutting in on anything, Jeremy steps forward, paying no attention to Numa's intent to protect them from the mermaid. He then speaks up, loud enough to be sure that she could hear him.

"Oh hello there, I hate to be rude and not introduce myself earlier, but I'm a bit slow to trust giant creatures I run into here. Anyway, I'm Jeremy, it's a pleasure to meet you, Marla. As for why we're here, we were just passing by, on our way to some town somewhere, I'm new to this group as you can see. We're a bit hungry, so I hope you don't mind if we borrow some of these fish, I'm sure there will be some left over for you, there are, well, plenty of fish left in the sea. Excuse the use of bad puns."

The bad pun caused Numa's eyes to lock onto Jeremy and a expressionate sigh.

"Keep the fish....I'm not so stingy to make you give them back.Traveling hun....You all seem pretty lighly armed for that.......welll unless she is you deterrant."

Lily and Renee began to collect more wood for the fire.

Numa looked back at the mermaid. She wrote "Sorry" into the ground.

She propped herself up to see what numa had wrote.

"oh.....it's okay I guess. But you should be more careful in the future. I have pretty potent magic and not all mermaid's will be caught by surprise. And for the fish your friend Jeremy is right there are plenty more."

Marla resumed swimming in her circle.

Numa watched Marla swimming. After a while, she waded into the river herself.

Solomon sat down next to the fire, and cooked himself a fish.

As Numa entered the water the fish scattered. Marla swam a few quick circles around Numa.

As time passed it got a little colder and Nigt eventually rolled around. Lily has fallen asleep and Renee watched the other's.

Marla had started singing a quiet eerie song. It was plesant but had a sad feeling to it.
